Not sure if my mate is on the wind-up (hope so and assume so) .
Is anyone else hearing bisgrove has allowed quite a number of hospitality clients to pay “x” (unconfirmed amount) to join the team all inclusive in the hotel they’re staying at in Spain? Apparently Clement raging as drunk fans are cutting about?
Sounds like a load of rubbish to me - have asked him for his source as I can’t see anything online about it.
Just wondering if anyone else had heard similar?

Sometimes Corporate Hospitality or Sponsors get invited to friendlies etc and the trios abroad are so the club can ensure exclusive use of the hotel or facility.
I don't know if this has happened on this occasion but I have done this previously with a lower league club where my friends company was a major sponsor.

Apparently fans were charged £7.5k a head to stay at same hotel have meals with team and a Q and a session.
The problem being they’re drunk when around the hotel at same time as players. Clement not happy about this.
Tbf, I did see a video of a fan videoing the team raining session n sum1 shouts n Scottish accent right stop fuc’*** videon that.
Other than that a can’t see this being a true story as quite simply clement would just put a stop to it if he wasn’t happy.

Cheers for the insight guys. Very concerning lapse in judgement if it is true - the revenue generated not worth unsettling the players/ gaffer during their first prolonged period to train together and spend time together.

Corporate sponsors were allowed to travel with the team and stay at the same hotel. £7000 per person. Fans are being turned away from the training ground as the corporate guests have exclusive access and this is causing an issue for security staff at the resort.

Just my thoughts on Ridvan.
Has he started playing well and does he look like he might be a semi decent player - yes to both but, if it’s true that he’s not happy then does it not make sense that if we loan him to Verona and he continues on his upward trajectory that we are more likely to benefit as average players from the top 5 leagues always command a far better premium than good players from Scotland. Surely that has to be our thinking behind it ??♂️.

It is not unusual for top teams, (even for lower league sides in England), for the Clubs to provide Sponsor packages for Away Trips, (I have sponsored a lower league side in England in the past and there was something similar as part of the package) . What I would say is that as a Sponsor I would expect the Club to have set hard and fast rules regarding standards for anyone attending that would limit the risk of disruption to team activity. (For example, anyone attending in my day were well aware that they were representing the Company and 'loutish behaviour would have been gross misconduct) .
Unfortunately there will be Brits on holiday in Spain, (and not all football fans), and it is less easy to police them and unfortunately this comes down to how effective the Resort Security is. Best is for the Resort to increase the level of drunk and disorderly. Security and have a good relationship with the local Authorities so that anyone in the vicinity of the resort that is not a resident is kept well away.

Bisgrove is a top quality Businessman. He has generated more deals for us than we have ever had previously and it is those dels that have helped us bring in new players. It's not his fault that most of the players signed have been poor quality.
As for the folks reputedly causing issues due to inebriation, were they categorically Sponsor Guests or were they, more likely, just tourists, perhaps not even rangers fans.
I doubt that players would be concerned about posing for photographs with Rangers supporting guests at the hotel. Back in the Souness era it was standard practice and I am delighted to say that I still have photographs of my two sones with players not to mention them happily having their photographs taken holding Trophies in the Trophy Room, something that I for one would dearly like to be able to do again on a regular basis.

Admittedly I’m about 4L deep into Spanish lager beer on the Costa Del at the start of a much needed holiday - so my opinion as it stands might be even less agreeable than usual standards…
1-0 was a poor scoreline given how we started but overall I see shoots of recovery/ promise.
The Jefte/ cortes partnership looked fruitful (remember the ages of those two) and Igamane genuinely looks like a rangers number 9 (albeit only 2 cameo appearances thus far) .
Lawrence showed his quality at times but to me is an impact sub rather than a starter.
Raskin showed some dig - I feel diomande (as I’ve said before) flatters to deceive but accept he’s a young lad and perhaps we haven’t found the best role for him yet?
Would have liked to have seen Kasa on the pitch but overall we got the 3 points against a team and manager who hate us on the backdrop of negativity AND we could and should have won more comfortably.
So I am feeling quite buoyed - we return to ibrox moving forwards so let’s get right behind the team and big bad bald Phil and see where we can take this season!

Hagi has posted on instragram a picture of him in full rangers training kit in the gym at the training centre with the caption “preseason week 2✅”
Don’t know whether to read into that as him coming back into the fold or if he’s simply training alone with a view to a move.

Can’t we at least try to use him? We are really struggling with creativity. Matondo Lawrence and wright don’t actually conjure up visions of glory. He could play either of those three positions. Wright could move to the middle as that’s where he shows the best. At least if we start using hagi and someone actually wants him, they can move their ar*e before he becomes cup tied. I mean he is a national team player that actually plays minutes for his country. He’s not worthless.

Despite what some posters (the "know-it all" people on this site) were saying that he never turned up for the preseason, he is with the first team for two weeks.
He is a player that prefers to stay with Rangers, he loves the club, but the way he is treated is beyond comprehension. Last year Beale sent him on loan because Ianis said he is disappointed about not playing more. Who knows what the reason is now? Taking away his number, sending him to the B team are clear signs. Do the people in charge think these actions would increase his market value?!

Completely agree with all of the above. I thought he looked decent at the euros. Romania are no mugs and he didn’t look out of place when he came on. He would undoubtedly elevate our midfield as it stands. His stock is low at the moment so can’t imagine the fee would be great should we sell - perhaps get our money back if lucky?
I’d really like to see him given a chance under PC and if he has a good season we can hopefully cash in next summer with one year left on his deal.

I’m quite surprised we haven’t included Lammers in the pre-season tour, I expected the gaffer to have a look at him training with our match day squad given his performances in the Netherlands and our lack of a depth of quality in the 9/ 10 positions and seeming lack of funds. He is potentially a solution from within (albeit I doubt it would have played out like that as I sadly don’t think he is ultimately good enough/ suited to us) .
I wonder if there are deals in the pipeline for him or if he was made it clear he doesn’t want to stay with us resulting in him being dropped down to the Bs.

Two-pronged question.
1) What do we think will happen with regards the central midfield positions.
2) What do we think happens with Sterling?
1) As it stands the central midfield options include:
-Raskin
-Diomande
-Barron
-Sterling
-Dowell
-McKinnon
+/ - McLean
(Cifuentes also to come back from his loan at some point) . Lot of players for 2 positions.
Would imagine we are trying to shift Dowell and I don’t get the feeling the gaffer is a big fan of Raskin so a sensible offer probably sees him away? Cole McKinnon out on loan seems the most sensible way of getting him development minutes?
2) I think Sterling deserves to have a starting 11 position and a specific one at that rather than being used as a utility man (I think his best performances have come at CM but he hasn’t really had a chance to play in his preferred RB role) .
If the captain leaves then he’s the natural successor at RB but if tav stays then surely he occupies the 6/ 8 role? Him and diomande as your go-to 6-8 partnership?

Yep agree with the concern about goals from midfield. The above might be a good base in Europe when we won’t dominate the ball but against majority of the league I would much rather see a more attacking format.
Stevie G what would your preference be if the 10 role is dropped? The difficulty being at present we still have Cantwell/ hagi/ lawrence/ lammers (although maybe the big fella deserves a chance pre-season as number 9 - that being said I can’t see him suiting us) / lowry on the books.

I think it’s safe to say lammers will be sold as soon as the Dutch clubs that want him table the official bid. It’s his wages that could be a problem though, maybe he’ll end up in Germany or turkey or something like that.
I’d sell Lawrence for £1.5-2m
Hagi - £2m+
Cantwell I’d take £5m
Lammers £3m
Lowry I’d try loan to Portugal like happened with Gauld. Maybe sort the boys attitude n discipline n also allow him to play to his style which isn’t suited to Scottish football.
I’d like to see 3cm’s same as under stevie G
Sterling on Rcm covering for tavs deficiencies when he’s in attack and playing his own all energy game.
Diomande at LCM which I think helps him learn the game a bit more without the pressure of being one of two as he gets cought napping a lot and is sometimes too slow moving the ball forward or even lifting his head aswell. Someone in front of the back 4 to cover his current deficiencies.
Barron covering Sterling and raskin covering the new 6 I’d also lie miller brought in to compete with diomande for the 3rd mf position.
I don’t know who to go for as our new 6 as we won’t know many of any of the players we sign due to what we can afford.
By playing with 3 cm’s we can control the mf against Celtic.
Laying with the 2 means we don’t have the ball to get it forward to the 4 attackers who then become pointless players if we can’t get the ball to them.
Same as in Europe.
Central striker with 2 wide attackers is best for our capabilities as a team.

In my opinion we have 3 players for that position Barron, Raskin and Diomande . Sterling may fill in there but I reckon he will remain our utility man unless Tav leaves . We don`t know yet what position if any McKinnon will fill . Dowell should be sold but if he plays it will be further forward . We still need an experienced player to be brought in (not, McLean) who can dictate the play and hopefully pitch in with a few goals.

I think dio would the one to deliver the goals if he’s given that wee bit extra freedom of having someone behind him as I say.
He’s more of a 10 to me than a 6/ 8.
Similar with miller.
Whichever played from those two would be the position i'd let roam more further forward of the 3 and expect goals from that player.
I get your pint though mate. And remember with the 3cms the 3 attackers would be expected to score more and track back less than they are just now.

Sacking clement would be knee jerk short-termism. We’ve just had a total squad over-haul which is nowhere near complete, with a focus on building a team for the future.
Celtic are unfortunately a well-oiled machine and streets ahead of us and clearly we cannot yet go toe-to-toe so unless big improvements seen by the next old firm we’ll need to take a more pragmatic approach tactics wise.
We don’t have the money to buy players to immediately compete with them so we just have to hope we get the recruitment correct and that in time the younger signings realise the potential we are hoping for.

If the rumour is true surely has to be one of Armstrong or Watson.
Armstrong for me likely an upgrade on wright as a squad player but not improving the starting 11.
Watson - not sure young player of the year last year. Barron has hit the ground running maybe Watson could be similar but I think more likely a good signing for the future.
Overall - neither likely to move us forwards much in the short term IMHO but would love to be wrong.
