Vlad Weiss
Steve Davis
Kyle Lafferty
Charlie Adam
Steven Naismith
Alan Hutton

Can you run a poll please Ed?

{Ed033's Note -

Rangers Player Poll

09 May 2018 22:43:36
The answer I and most fans thought obvious is the answer. What we wouldn’t give to have wee Steve Davis back but for now me must prevail with holt and Halliday etc.

09 May 2018 23:00:04
Steve davis for me and give him the captains armband while your at it.

09 May 2018 23:06:37
I think we need to aim for a higher caliber than all those names

10 May 2018 00:28:54
Wouldn't knock sone aluko back

10 May 2018 00:48:46
Ed you missed out the ‘none of them’ option

10 May 2018 11:03:21
Southend ranger you must be seriously under rating the quality of Steve Davis. Aim higher than him? You're dreaming

10 May 2018 12:29:27
Stevie davis has been injured most of this swason has achilles problems i'm sure

09 May 2018 21:48:23
Well done Hearts, and thanks for saving us from a nail biting visit to Edinburgh.
So let's go out at the week-end relaxed and show we are better than we have shown recently.
Onwards and upwards, come on the Gers.

09 May 2018 21:53:45
Agree well done LAFF and NAISY blues brothers

09 May 2018 22:13:10
They did it for Hearts not us and to congratulate both is pathetic. It’s a sign of just how low expectations are by certain fans that you have to come onto a Rangers site and applaud other teams players

09 May 2018 22:21:55
Having to laugh at hivs cutting are ticket allocation thinking there would be something to play for hahaha

09 May 2018 22:33:31
Odds on hibs beating us 6-0

10 May 2018 07:44:16
ArthurD, your logic is ridiculous, it is a simple fact that our concerns for the week-end are greatly reduced, so hopefully our players show what they are capable of.

10 May 2018 08:12:37
billyb

We should be able to go to Easter Road and best Hibs and not have to rely on anyone else. If we want to finish 2nd we need to be able to beat teams like Hibs. You are exactly the kind of fan I’m talking about and it’s sad it’s got to that stage

10 May 2018 08:45:25
Arthur D of course they done it for hearts but massively helps us so of course we want to congratulate! are you saying back in the day on helicopter Sunday you weren't cheering motherwell and Scott mcdonald because I was at ibrox that night and believe me the squad were, big style?

10 May 2018 08:54:38
Arthur, unfortunately the days are gone where we are just expected to go places and win, you're the type of fan with ideas above their station buddy, wake up a bit eh?

10 May 2018 11:06:18
Yes Arthur was could be able to go to Hibs and beat them but this season has proven that we can't. Our expectations are low thus season becsuse its the best we can hope for. It dies not mean that we've all accepted that Rangers are a team that views third as success

10 May 2018 11:40:46
And another thing AD, I'll be thanking Motherwell when they win the cup and keep Hibs out of Europe.

09 May 2018 21:48:19
Well done Hearts that all but secures Europe for us. Popcorn teeth must be sick at two ex bears doing the damage

09 May 2018 21:47:14
Well done Hearts tonight. A point at Easter Rd should hopefully be enough for 2nd provided they beat Aberdeen. On another matter that's Killie gave them another hard game and came away with a point. How can the likes of Killie, Motherwell, Hearts, Hamilton and Hibs give them a harder time than us, are our players really that gutless?

09 May 2018 22:00:54
Aye sir s they are and as a lifelong gers supporter I'm ashamed of 90% of our squads performance against the timco 1 and timco 2.

09 May 2018 22:14:36
Our players are terrified of them and allow them to run over the top of us. We have a gutless, spineless bunch of imposters just now and hopefully Stevie G will sort it out

09 May 2018 22:20:06
The teams you mentioned realised that if you press the mhankies that they crumble and that they’re defenders are rank rotten when put under pressure. For whatever reason we do the exact opppsote and invite them onto us meaning we get pumped

09 May 2018 22:48:29
Looks like my hearts doing us a favour post last night came to fruition. Draw at HIVs and Sheep lose would do me at weekend. McInness is bitter and needs put back in his box

10 May 2018 08:15:31
Would agree about McInnes he does seem to be very bitter and embarrassed himself with his comments leading up to Tuesdays game. Tbh he is a very average manager as he was an average player and he was extremely lucky to play for us. Not an inspiring manager either and I’m glad he didn’t become our manager

09 May 2018 21:43:47
Wonderful 2 ex bears do him tight howv many excuses will we hear now brilliant Hearts brilliant can't wait to see his interview looks like he's going to Burst into tears magic 😂😂.

09 May 2018 21:40:31
Europe here we come, the Rangers old boys pumped Hivs

09 May 2018 21:20:55
Looking at this game tonight and Hibs will absolutely turn us over going by their form. More desire, fight and commitment than our bunch of impostors.
I look at our team and all I see are 10 outfield players who are totally interchangeable, the strikers can't strike, the midfielders can't create and the defenders can't defend. Swap them round and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference who played where. They're all as gash as each other.

09 May 2018 21:47:30
They've just been gubbed😄😄 Rangers men laffs and Naisy different class. Should have been in blue but for all the naysayers.

09 May 2018 22:17:01
Dunbar blue

Why should they have been in blue? They have had their time at Ibrox and don’t you think it’s better to look forward than back? Naismith done nothing against us at Ibrox and he is clearly past his best. If we are to ever challenge Celtic then Naismith is not the answer

10 May 2018 06:47:09
Well they were the answer last night. Don't tell me you wouldn't have rather had they two boys in your team instead of the two we signed instead, Pena and Herrera? Would they have helped us get closer to Celtic? I would have thought so.

09 May 2018 20:30:37
I'm not one for bringing old players back but I've been impressed with some of Lafferty's performances this season. i'm not saying sign him for us but I think he's finally grown up. Only took him a decade.

09 May 2018 20:43:55
Consistency was always his problem rather than ability, but I would agree he seems to have matured a lot. A centre forward with his attributes we are screaming out for though - versatile, good feet and a threat at set pieces.

09 May 2018 20:50:27
I'd love to see Laff back not based on last few games but whole season looks like he's grown up he fits perfectly the SG player profile

09 May 2018 20:57:10
an would also be up for signing Kyle Lafferty how much would hearts charge us though .

09 May 2018 21:21:32
I was always against being him back but his performances don’t lie, I’m sure he could add value as a squad player?

09 May 2018 22:21:36
Was thinking the same thing and couldn’t help but think he’d be perfect to compliment playing alongside Cummings

09 May 2018 22:32:44
Lafferty 19 goals this year - we missed out big time . Swap for
Wallace?

10 May 2018 00:14:09
Swap for Morales

09 May 2018 20:30:07
Does anyone think there is any substance in us being linked with Gareth Barry? Very assured, cool head and good footballer. but he is maybe to old and legs have gone?

09 May 2018 20:37:38
I've not heard that one.

09 May 2018 20:51:33
Seen bookies had slashed odds. Problem is that position is probably our strongest but all very young. McCrorie, Dcoherty, Jack and Rossiter (if he can stay off a stetcher) . Dorrans needs to play further forward and find the player in him we all know he can be.

09 May 2018 21:22:09
No need for more anymore 35+ players

09 May 2018 21:46:27
Miller, Alves, Martin and possibly Wallace all likely go in summer. I think that leaves only Dorrans over 30. We lost the head after penalty given last night and half time couldn't come quick enough - we need experienced pros to calm it down. Decisions go against you, but can't let it make you lose focus; good experience in the mix can stop that happening.

09 May 2018 22:20:29
Candeias, Arfield will both be 30 next season and Murphy will be 29, Alves has shown us why not to sign players in their late 30’s

10 May 2018 04:57:58
Please no, Barry used to be awright but now, utter jobby.

09 May 2018 20:04:54
hope our east coast brothers can do us a turn against the hibees tonight.

09 May 2018 20:24:52
lafferty 1-0

09 May 2018 20:32:54
As it stands yes they are.
And tbh we need to go out and get Harry Cochrane. Great young centre back

09 May 2018 20:38:37
Blueger69 Cochrane is a centre mid.

09 May 2018 21:03:15
I guess I stand corrected chief.
I don't normally watch any others teams than Gers but had to watch this with an eye on Sunday. But yh young Cochrane must be a better option than Dorrans and Murphy.
These 2 just blew got and cold way to often for my liking.
Boom 2-1 hearts as I type this

09 May 2018 21:44:26
2-1 Hearts full time

09 May 2018 20:02:07
We are second favourites to sign Rooney this summer some columnist talking about it I said it a while back for a joke so if it comes true I will joke about signing Suarez lol but would be a cracking signature

09 May 2018 20:25:02
It would be amazingly to see Rooney up here, way our Stevie G🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

09 May 2018 20:33:07
If only mate. I think we will get a couple of high profile names but he's well out our budget. Saying that their is a few lonely Granny's in Glasgow.

11 May 2018 00:36:13
If he comes up he can have my granny . she's free on tues and weds evenings

09 May 2018 19:59:41
When you realise Stevie-G's ex buddies

Fernando Torres
Daniel Sturridge
James Milner
Ryan Babel
Maxi Rodriguez
Yossi Benayoun
Alberto Aquilani
Javier Mascherano
Martin Škrtel
Alberto Moreno
Pepe Reina

Are all out of contract by next summer.

09 May 2018 20:30:26
Dado. Please pass round what you are smoking mate.

09 May 2018 21:06:35
Lol James 2 or 3 would be good if Mr Gerrard can convince them to buy into his plans

09 May 2018 23:07:49
That would be brill just to see the look on Brenda's face .

09 May 2018 18:11:35
Anybody else think there is more to the foderingham situation than that's getting said all of a sudden he's injured and not been seen at all plus he hasn't been on twitter at all not saying that's a big thing just weird he's not gave an update at all on himself plus it matches the time of the annoucement we wanted mcgregor back which i heard is a done deal just wondering anyone elses thoughts on this

09 May 2018 19:14:25
I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Foderinham leave in the summer.
At least we would get a transfer fee for him
I counted 17 players I think we should get rid off today
The problem is only 6 are out of contract/ loan
I can see it being difficult to off load a few of them
The standard is very average across the squad and lacks consistency if you ask me

09 May 2018 19:57:30
Keeping him wrapped up for selling

09 May 2018 16:15:36
I posted earlier about bringing Miller and Wallace into the squad for the week-end, and playing 3 at the back.
Some ot the responses gave a reasonable argument about why not, but nothing was put forward to eleviate our major problem, and that is central defence and the space just in front of it. Combine that with the opposition's ability to get behind our defence, means we are vulerable at the back.
Address these problems and we will win, as long as the right attitude is there with our players.

09 May 2018 16:55:11
For me that area of the park is put under pressure by the pair of midfielders playing in front of them not being strong enough on the ball and the whole team not moving into space to take the ball when they are in possession! Every player on the park has a part to play in defending

09 May 2018 19:08:34
id maybe put bates there. murphy is also much better through the middle.

09 May 2018 23:12:42
Well now that Europe is a cert, why not play youn rudden up front he has scored well for the U20s, and include Wallace and miller,

09 May 2018 13:58:34
A few tic fans in work saying they will beat Aberdeen because they always try and finish the season strong they will play a strong team to set them up for the cup final.

If right that just leaves it in our hands. We need go beat Hibs. If we deserve 2nd place we just need to beat hibs.

09 May 2018 14:57:07
Missing McCrorie and Morelos through suspension will be a real blow, back to looking weak in midfield again.

09 May 2018 13:43:34
Not the best I know but my mate just sent me this and it did put a wee smile on my coupon,

Red Bull and Honda have put in a joint bid for Rangers upon the proviso they relocate to northern Ireland. They would then be known as, Red Honda Ulster!

09 May 2018 14:08:23
Boom boom

09 May 2018 16:18:24
😂😂😂quite good

09 May 2018 19:20:50
Fekn peach mate 😂😂😂😂😂👍

09 May 2018 20:00:39
Nice to see an old joke recycled.

09 May 2018 23:14:37
Made me smile, ta.

09 May 2018 13:08:43
Good point without really playing well. I know there are thoughts that Celtic will lie down to them but can't see it. A draw at Easter road would be good enough for 2nd and I think if we match them for fight then it should get done. I would live the sheep to finish 4th but end of day makes no difference. Heard McGinn is being touted around but gers have said not interested. Think SG has alternatives in mind, hope so!

09 May 2018 13:25:07
They might not lie down to Aberdeen but with a Cup Final coming up I can't see them going at it 100%.

As for McGinn, I reckon he's a fantastic prospect. Would improve our team instantly.

09 May 2018 14:18:03
Yeah Celtic won't lie down but they will rest some players. And they won't won't to risk injury in a meaningless game with the cup final coming up. Aberdeen will edge it

09 May 2018 09:24:04
What was the referee all about last night?
Where was the VAR
We find it hard enough to beat any team without the man in black giving a helping hand
Officials just not good enough!

09 May 2018 10:24:00
The level of refereeing in Scotland is a national disgrace and embarresment, not nearly consistent enough, they seem to punish the same players all the time and let others off with murder

09 May 2018 11:48:45
Shouldn't need VAR for a incident that was right in front of him. There was no one even blocking his view, it's embarrassing that our officials are getting big calls wrong so often.

09 May 2018 23:19:17
A very poor refereeing decision, but more worrying was the loss of discipline by us, with such poor refereeing we could have lost a player with a red card, wether it was a correct despising or not,

09 May 2018 08:09:53
The game v Hibs is our cup final this season. I know a draw is sufficient for a European spot, but to have a hope of second spot I feel we need a win, as the sheep will probably take something from the east end.
I know that Miller and Wallace are suspended by the club, but personally I would bring them back into the squad for this game.
I don't condone what they done, but watching some of our tactics in recent games must have been very frustrating for seasoned pros.
I would play 3 at the back [ Cardoso, Bates and Alves. ] with Tavernier and Wallace at wing back. I would bring in Miller for Morelos [ suspended. ]
The team will be chosen by Jimmy Nicholl, who is experienced enough to know what is required, and I am confident that he will pick a team that will play for the jersey and bring some pride back with a victory.

09 May 2018 08:31:08
My team to beat Hibs would be (4-2-3-1):

Alnwick; Tavernier, Alves, Bates, Halliday;

Goss, Rossiter;

Candeias, Windass, Murphy;

Cummings

It is a shame about McCrorie, Morelos and Dorrans but Cummings should be hungry to score against his old team and Goss and Rossiter would give us a stable base in front of defence. Bring Windass back in from the start. Second place here we come!

09 May 2018 08:53:03
No brainer, rossiter must play against hibs, best we've got, won't miss Morales, he can go suck his dummw

09 May 2018 09:24:48
I would play
Alnwick
Tavs
Alves
Bates
Halliday (unfortunately)
Mccrorie
Candieas
Rossiter
Docherty
Murphy
Cummings

09 May 2018 09:29:10
Stuz Mccrorie suspended

09 May 2018 09:52:14
Stupid post stuz (unfortunately), Mccrorie suspended, and if you don't fancy Halliday at left back why not pick a player that you do fancy for that position or do you not know any?

09 May 2018 10:52:53
I'd play 343

Alnwick
Bates
Alves
Martin
Tav
Wallace
Rossiter
Docherty
Murphy
Candias
Miller

09 May 2018 11:03:37
JYF. Personally, I think Halliday might as well stay at left back for this last match. He isn't the greatest player but you can't fault him for lack of playing for the shirt and that will be needed against Hibs. At worse, all we need is a draw at Hibs to guarantee third place and European football. It will be interesting to see the outcome of the unwashed v the sheep match!

09 May 2018 11:41:11
No chance for Miller and Wallace - our team must stick together

09 May 2018 12:16:10
I never thought I would post these words but I thought Haliday came on to a game last nite after a shaky start. The guys still not good enough but I've been quick to criticize him in the past so it's only right I praise him when I think he's done well.

09 May 2018 13:01:54
Jaws, agree with you. I thought haliday and bates in second half were superb

09 May 2018 13:19:51
forgot about Mccrorie being suspended but jyf, i don't need the sarcasm from you, i'm not a fan of Halliday but (unfortunately) no-one at present can play in that position and would do any better, geez

09 May 2018 13:46:00
Stuz. did u actually watch the game? Halliday didn't get roasted. he didn't play badly at all. In fact, he played quite well. That's just a cheap shot at a guy who isn't the best player I have ever seen but is miles from the worst. He's an easy target. Get aff his back ya humf. slagging Rangers players should be like slagging somebodies mum. out of bounds.

09 May 2018 14:07:11
Wallace and Miller? They're both suspended by the club and that means they're not training and it also means they're not match fit. Even if you doubt that obvious point, fact is they're suspended and the club will not play them. It's a good match for Cummings to play in and I'm sure Halliday at left back will play his heart out.

09 May 2018 14:23:25
Candeias is rotten and yet again contributed nothing going forward. Classic example of a journeyman player who should never be near the first team

09 May 2018 14:41:34
Yes Dutch, i did watch the game, if that's what you constitute as not playing badly, then god help us, the guy is rank, no matter what position he plays in, btw hows your mum ;-)

09 May 2018 15:19:09
No sarcasm at all stuz straight to the point I thought.

09 May 2018 16:16:59
This is a banter site but it appears you didn't like what i said about Halliday, you're obviously one of these supporters who love poor players and a mediocre season, well done you, now that's SARCASM :-D

09 May 2018 17:06:18
Answer one thing then stuz, was Halliday, in your opinion, the worst player in the Rangers team last night.

09 May 2018 18:42:41
Back 4 plus

Goss Rossiter Docherty

Candias/ Windass (free attacking role)

Cummings Murphy

09 May 2018 20:21:27
Jyf, in my eyes, Halliday was 1 of the worst players but so were a couple of others, you happy now, geez, I didn't realise I would be getting the 3rd degree 😉

09 May 2018 06:53:54
Going on Jamie Murphy's performance last night is he worth it or do you think Stevie G or Mark Allen will review that deal?

09 May 2018 08:47:41
The short answer is, no I don’t think Murphy is up to it and I hope his deal is reviewed. At Parkhead last week, he tried to hide for the entire game and couldn’t get rid of the ball quick enough. Posted missing for most of the game at Pittodrie last night as well. All Rangers games are big and as such we need big game players. Murphy isn’t up for it so if poss replace him with better

09 May 2018 10:10:13
There’s nothing to review, this wasn’t a loan deal like Goss and Martin, this was a delayed transfer. Murphy is a Rangers player

09 May 2018 12:39:45
I suspected that was the case so we will probably have to keep him. I think he has ability but not sure he is up for it when the pressure is on and the going gets tough. I’m sure Gerrard will have been around enough good combative players to know one when he sees one. I think a clear out is inevitable

09 May 2018 14:08:35
Hopefully when he is part of a team which has had much of the deadwood removed and some serious strength imparted he will not feel as isolated as he must have for large parts of the last month.

It is not easy to be expected to always drag others up by the bootstraps week after week. (Yes I know Stevie G was renowned for it but there are very few like him. )

I think SG will strengthen and that will help to improve those he does retain. Personally I hope it includes Murphy as I think he will flourish in that stronger set up.

09 May 2018 17:01:07
Hello Fellow Bears,
What about Ryan Shawcross, big strong physical no nonsense central defender captain of Stoke, he came through the ranks at Man Utd and was then sold to Stoke at a bargain 1 million, in my opinion he is the type of player we are crying out for, maybe he would relish the challenge of playing for Stevie G and hopefully playing in Europe

Review Of The Day 9th May 2018

09 May 2018 06:50:37
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new article entitled, Review Of The Day 9th May 2018

09 May 2018 06:38:35
We only need a draw against hivs providing Smeltic beat the sheep, but I bet you the sheep get a result Smeltic won't want to do anything that benefits us!

09 May 2018 09:30:45
Cd u sound like a Tim. It’s about us not them

09 May 2018 09:54:36
Unfortunately jboy its not about us, we need the sheep to drop points against them to finish second.

09 May 2018 10:36:15
Jboy do your maths.

09 May 2018 13:32:21
A win against hibs will secure second, as long as the sheep Don't win. A draw at breezeblock towers would not be enough for them to get second

09 May 2018 19:08:00
What I'm saying his go out and do our business. We have to many people on here saying Celtic will lie down. Thought it was them who was paranoid
Also my posts have said second not important its qualifying for Europe

09 May 2018 01:42:31
Dorrans ligament damage, clearly out for Sunday.

Morelos and Mcrorie suspended.

🤦🏻‍♂️

Back 5 for Sunday? Martin, Bates and Alves with the two full backs? We're struggling here.

On a side note, thought big Bates was outstanding tonight, he might be leaving but you can't fsukt his commitment while wearing the shirt!

09 May 2018 00:58:12
My view

Build team around the boy Mccorie
got arfiled in need a leader in there too

2 solid centre halfs n a goal scorer

we in action

reckon boys?

09 May 2018 09:51:40
Defo need a creative midfielder and another wide player as well
