09 Jan 2017 22:17:44
where's Toral then? any ideas? he was supposed to be flying in yesterday a bit later than Hyndman

09 Jan 2017 23:04:01
john toral will fly into glasgow tomorrow to finalise a loan deal until the end of the season and there should be one more player coming in and it will not be saido berahino nor will it be frank lampard nor will it be robin van persie. probably be a goalkeeper if gilks leaves as expected.

10 Jan 2017 00:57:50
We must seriously strengthen next summer as getting 2nd and entering qualifying rounds of Europa will be on the cards and going by the teams that awaits in final round are of same calibre as last yrs we MUST do some decent business AND King has to back Warbs. I do think that if we get the same types of teams the sheep and Jambos got we will progress but hitting that final round with the squad we have imo will really struggle! Really wish this Sports Direct shambles could get sorted as I read its costing us between 4-6m a yr. Also hope there is truth in the Red Bull rumour as its going to be something like that, that would be of a huge boost there must be someone out there who can see that our lge is a two horse race to Champions Lge money and a return on investment is a gamble but over X yrs CAN happen, Buenos or not someone MUST realize that Rangers CAN make them money its only a matter of time! Invest 10-15m and CL qualification nets an instant 20m plus. King must realize that getting into Europa means more than just some cash via the tournament BUT will alert investors.

10 Jan 2017 02:06:06
I share your angst, Andy 1872, but the reality is if we want to move forward with any haste, to rebuild the team (and maybe hire a new manager) then deal with the off-field legal issues and contract issues, pay back the soft loans we already owe in lieu of shares as any new investor would want these, as well as revamping the stadium while reaching a performance level that would see us in the Champiions league within, say, four years, we really are looking at investment of £80-100million. That, sadly, is the reality of our situation and if we want to have a Rangers at all, we have to recognise this. I'm 65 and I hope it can be fixed by the time I'm 70, that's the time scale as far as I see it.

10 Jan 2017 09:01:30
Wee Ecky, a lot of what you say I agree with although I reckon that success could be secured without that level of investment providing we were astute in the transfer market and did not go overboard in redeveloping the Ground.

To do that we need an ambitious Chairman and Board of Directors and a clever CEO that can negotiate clever deals alongside the manager on pre-contract agreements for top stars that will help boost income in the short term.

Whether our current CEO has this ability I just don't know but I doubt very much that King has the ambition and that for me is where the problem lies. I am not even convinced hat he will put any serious money into the club and I do wonder at times whether he is primarily looking to recoup some of his previously lost £20m

10 Jan 2017 13:02:37
said it before we came into this league and i'm still saying it if we get a solid defence it will free up the gifted players to play with more freedom but the defence is no where near good enough and i'm talking about all of them including our best clint hill (too slow) .

we need big strong and quick defenders

10 Jan 2017 13:53:54
James, what big strong quick defenders will we be able to secure when we have no investment moneys for these guys. We would be financially outmuscled even for the better defenders never mind the best.

As for freeing up the gifted players that is a nice thought but there is a shortage of 'gifted players' at the club these days, especially in midfield where, by the mere fact that Halliday plays every week, suggests that we don't have a decent Holding midfield player or defensive midfield player on our books!

09 Jan 2017 18:26:43
What happened to Jim McColl who at one time was said to be in the running to invest in Rangers? The man is worth over £1 billion so has the cash. He is a bluenose and donated his shares to the supporters' groups. Surely he could pump in £100 million and not worry about when he gets it back! Some hope lol!

09 Jan 2017 18:43:01
He was prepared to invest to ensure that the Club survived but he later pulled back when others came into the picture. My understanding at the time was that the money he would have invested was from a fund controlled by him and selected other investors. The money was never his solely to invest.

There is very good reason why he has the personal wealth he does and Rangers currently does not offer a viable investment so not surprised he has not committed It would be great if he did though

09 Jan 2017 19:03:20
Doiger don't you learn, if a McColl/ sugar daddy pumped 100m into your club don't you know know this is the road to ruin.
Is there something wrong with running a club within its means?
Only in recent history a club went into liquidation because of this reckless spending ( u might know who) .
So when u buy your 5-6 10m players and pay their wages and its all gone, who continues to pay for it, or do u go back to getting league 1 players?
Is it even possible to go into liquidation twice lol.
Since u insist on same club scenario, can I ask u how u would expect the rest of Scottish football to react to this?
Or would it be everybody elses fault like before?
Not forgetting the poor people who wernt paid last time.

09 Jan 2017 19:41:14
get off your soapbox rayman99 and give us some banter you should be over on the financial pages with your know it all bloggers

09 Jan 2017 19:57:30
Let's focus on getting rid of the billionaires at our club and getting more fan involvement. Sugar daddyy's die and take their clubs with them.

09 Jan 2017 20:16:50
He used the club to further himself and get himself another 5 mins of fame just like tom hunter way back.

09 Jan 2017 20:28:36
That's it I'm going for a provy loan the morra just send me your suggestions of who you want to sign and I'll see what I can do

10 Jan 2017 11:28:07
Definitely agree with you spoc. More fan involvement with buying shares etc is the way to go! Fans putting their money into rangers and thus having a bigger say in how our club is run, is the way forward imo!

09 Jan 2017 17:46:13
Hyndman can't be any worse than haliday holt in last few games so welcome play and fight for team

09 Jan 2017 18:31:03
Was in the same team as Roberts and Dembele.

That same club who brought in these two tried to buy him before he joined Bournemouth.

So yes, think there's a good chance he'll play in our midfield on a regular basis.

09 Jan 2017 17:42:17
Emerson Hyndman is probably an excellent footballer but at 9st 6lbs (stone and a 1/ 2 lighter than Jason Holt) is he #1- simply too small for a rough physical Scottish league. #2- is he what Rangers need?

09 Jan 2017 18:09:25
Lets give the lad a chance before we bury him eh.

09 Jan 2017 18:26:10
Jimmy Johnstone, Bobby Russell and many others, including a younger Messi, were all under 10st. Means nothing when you look at some of the 13st henbags that make a living at the game.

09 Jan 2017 18:32:23
we can maybe get away with one or 2 players in out team with this stature playing in the spl but only if we have some guys with real presence, souness, bomber types

09 Jan 2017 19:09:31
Its all abt being abit quicker upstairs when it comes to being a good footballer and while i agree its good to have a proper hardman all this guff abt having a big strong guy is nonsense as its not an arm wrestle there going to have in the middle of the park. give me a good footballer over a big brute any day

10 Jan 2017 02:16:19
Correct, Bluedie, some on here would knock back Luca Modric because of his stature. Intelligence and the ability to unlock defences is far more important than brawn. Some players were blessed with both, like Souness, but they were the exception.

10 Jan 2017 06:24:20
Exactle wee-ecky, for people to come on and say abt the boy only being 9st is just lazy critisism.1 post even said "hes probably a good player but he's to light", honestly you couldn't make it up

10 Jan 2017 09:04:54
So long as he can look after himself he will be ok. I have seen a number of slightly built players with football ability that can play with skill and make a tackle. You only need to look back in time at some of our own players, guys like Alex MacDonald for example, to know that brawn does not always come with brains or courage!

10 Jan 2017 10:44:03
Correct TOMUSA, we could go on all day abt guys we've had like Reyna, Mccann, Cannigia. its just people on here still living in the dark ages wanting 6ft plus guys that carry abit like Bob Malcolm

09 Jan 2017 17:39:53
At a time when we need dave king at ibrox why is he no where to be seen or heard off he aways said he would be accountable for what goes on yet it's been silent for weeks . transfers and yes loan deals but what is going on behind the scenes my feelings is the fans need too hear from him more and more . yes we are better of than we were but com on why all the silent?

09 Jan 2017 18:56:49
Yeah the Dave King that promised to treble wages at Ibrox or even quadruple them in the first season back in the top division does seem to have quietened down in recent months.

09 Jan 2017 16:45:46
Seeing a lot of negativity across social media in regards to the loan signing of the boy hyndmann, mostly in regards to why we are loaning players, loaning players is there so we can access players we can't afford I don't see the negativity

09 Jan 2017 17:38:25
Don't have an opinion on the boys but I can't understand why the defence isn't priority.

09 Jan 2017 17:54:45
on one site he is a bournemouth outcast, if he went to the other mob he would be a sensational coup, i don't see why you let the idiots get to you

09 Jan 2017 16:24:54
Berahino rumours gathering momentum, would be a brilliant signing for rangers and a heavy profit when the time comes! Decent midfielders, fantastic forward, sort out the defence and the chase is well and truly on.

Good luck gers

09 Jan 2017 17:19:46
Aye, the chase for 2nd. By the way, the Berahino stuff is lies, don't get too carried away.

10 Jan 2017 12:33:44
Bhampot, Saido berahino is signing for the glasgow rangers! Its happening and you're wee mind doesn't want to believe that rangers are making a statement in getting berahino! Well he's coming! Get used to it!

09 Jan 2017 16:09:20
Hyndman signed. Thoughts bears?

09 Jan 2017 17:53:21
Looks like a good loan deal. 👍

09 Jan 2017 12:19:23
Hey guys, seen a lot about these players honing in Hydman and toral. hope they can bring in creativity instead of wee Mckay doing it alone.

Regrauds to the Bereinho move. £500k pre contract looks likely to happen in the next 10 days are so. After the friendly with RB Lepzin. Warbs and Weir going to speak to West Brom and the player. £500k development and if aloud try get him on loan till the end of the season so that he can fit into the squad and find a home.

Also a rumour out of murray park. Is that we are looking at 2 CB's one from Chelsea and the other is from Italy. Young strong guys that are pacey and strong. although I'm not 100% on any of it. But would be a good bit of business if we can get in a few more players.

Thoughts?

09 Jan 2017 12:55:19
fifaguy I think berahino will be a spurs player next year
he wants to go there and they have shown interest but if i'm wrong and hye comes here we would have a great prospect on our hands and could make some real money from selling him after a season as that is as long as he would stay

09 Jan 2017 14:35:52
Fifaguy there won't be any defenders brought in this January, I would be surprised if we did mate

09 Jan 2017 16:40:16
wow ed can you get that dodgy rumours page set up soon so you can ask these guys what they have been taking. do they seriously believe we are going to get berahino. think i am going to hide under my covers until the transfer window closes.

10 Jan 2017 09:10:06
If I am reading the Berahino situation correctly, if he goes to an English Club in the Summer then it will cost that club £8m or more and the boy himself will have a smaller signing on fee whereas if he was to move to a non English Club then he could negotiate a slice of the transfer fee for himself.

It is an interesting situation and one that his Agent will control. That suggests that the Agent will be looking not only at what is good for the player but is also good for the Agent!

It will be interesting to see what transpires!

09 Jan 2017 12:34:59
ive only seen clips of these boys and toral looks like he could do a job for us his passing looks to be on point can score with the head and his feet

09 Jan 2017 11:32:40
Stuart downing being let go out on loan until summer. If boro willing to cover most of his wages then worth a shout.

09 Jan 2017 13:27:25
Decent player a few yrs ago but getting on a bit

09 Jan 2017 18:00:09
At 32 and with 35 England caps at his back, he's nowhere near past it and would be a great addition to our team. Wages rule it out, though.

09 Jan 2017 18:50:51
Stuart downing, good player but not a patch on our very own barrie mckay!

09 Jan 2017 07:45:15
Just seen the new rangers top on sale on sports direct web site.

Rangers crest with new club title.

The loan rangers.

09 Jan 2017 08:02:33
Is patrick roberts not on loan

09 Jan 2017 08:34:09
Quite enjoyed that post scout, lol
It's only banter

09 Jan 2017 09:32:49
Roberts, Denayer, Guidetti to name a few. I had a Celtic fan friend of mine call us the loan rangers last season when we had Zelalem, Oduwa and Ball. He didn't realise his own team had a few loans the last few seasons. As usual he knew more about us than his own team. Perfectly normal in their world 😂

09 Jan 2017 09:47:04
Well maybe sports direct should bring out another shirt.

The moan rangers,

Suitable wear for all rangers fans.

09 Jan 2017 09:53:27
Turkey patter Monday, I guess.

09 Jan 2017 09:55:17
oh good one scout your a funny man!

09 Jan 2017 10:00:37
Saying that.

It must be a hard one to take for Celtic fans to know that aw the money in the world willny make them win anything other than tainted spl titles. Jesus they canny even win a treble.

09 Jan 2017 10:04:37
Turkey?

09 Jan 2017 10:12:17
All the crap about tainted titles, is that all you,

Groan rangers,

Can come up with.

09 Jan 2017 10:38:40
Guys calm down, it's only a joke, I love rangers as much as the next man but surely we can have a laugh, and brian please don't start with the tainted tittle crap, they won them fair and square, it's down to us now to stop them them getting more. remember it wasn't Celtic that ruined us, it was David Murray the minute he gave Craig White the keys to ibrox. fact.

09 Jan 2017 10:51:16
Well said delboy! It's all banter between two sets of fans . Real fans enjoy noising each other up . Without bragging rites? What would be the point? As for tainted titles? You can only beat who is in front of you!

09 Jan 2017 11:25:56
Delboy

Murray has a lot to answer for and as you said he was the one who sold the club to Whyte, he was the one who used the dodgy EBTs and he was the one who lied about bank rolling the club while all the time it was the bank

09 Jan 2017 11:26:41
Well said delbhoys,

Sitting here on a sunbed, temps a mild 30', cold beer, waiting on a tikka wrap being served, free WiFi, how can i be bored.

Oh sorry i forgot I'm not in Glasgow.

Have a good day guys.

H. h.

09 Jan 2017 11:34:24
not much class in a tikka wrap but enjoy

09 Jan 2017 11:41:35
I seem to remember thousands of excited fans gathering in the east end just to see Robbie Keane sign a loan deal to Celtic that was supposed to help them secure the league title just like Craig Bellamy signing a loan deal was supposed to guarantee them the title a few years before.

Maybe one of the Celtic guys can remind me who went on to lift the titles in both those two season?

09 Jan 2017 11:46:08
Fd,

Clayfish (indian lobster) ordered for later on, as the sun sets, is that classy enough.

Downside, 11 pm curfew during to local political elections.

Got to have something to moan about.

09 Jan 2017 12:29:06
Naz no one I criticising the loan market. All clubs in the world no use this to their advantage ( usually) to get round financial fair play rules ( falcoa) comes to mind . The initial post was tongue in cheek . It could be interpreted as loan signings due to no money / or a cheap dig at soft loans to survive?

Before I'm shot down? This is all banter! Nothing more! Just now it's great to be a celtic fan as all is rosie in the garden . But football evolves and we won't be at the top forever . You only have to look at man Utd to see the circle changes whether it be managers/ owners/ money . Nothing lasts for ever .

09 Jan 2017 12:30:00
I made one of them at school. Mind your teeth, they can be a bit crunchy when they come out the oven.

09 Jan 2017 12:58:50
the titles are tainted we where not there so if they win ten then they can and will sing about it but we all know its not the same as winning 9 when your rivals are challenging for the title

09 Jan 2017 13:04:18
I suppose it works two ways - we go on about tainted titles and they spout their new club and sevco pish. Fair's fair surely?

09 Jan 2017 14:04:03
Your on holiday, on your phone, talking about rangers. Jesus is that what Celtic fans actually do? Obsessive behavior.

09 Jan 2017 16:56:55
Cee.

Sorry mate, not on holiday, retired here, and i can think of anything better than winding up you bears. Whilst having a cold relaxing beer.

09 Jan 2017 17:52:27
Oh dear James tainted? Really? And after you cheated your way to titles cups and 9 in a row. People who live in glass houses.

09 Jan 2017 19:19:39
MM I for 1 minute don't think your titles are tainted but before you spout nonsense abt us "cheating to 9 in a row", if your refering to the EBT YEARS that started in 2001 and we won 9 in a row on 1997 so a wee bit of quick research the nxt time you try to be funny bud

09 Jan 2017 00:13:28
All I see is Holt and Halliday ae championship players. We are second in the league with those two in our centrAl midfield they are clearly above Championship level just not Rangers level so give yourselves a shake and be realistic.

09 Jan 2017 07:09:42
We drop to 3rd if Aberdeen win their game in hand though.

09 Jan 2017 08:28:58
Exactly ger, name another midfielder in Scotland outwith Celtic you would rather have? Kenny mclean? Andy Halliday might no be as good as brown but he is certainly a good player and the people who feel the need to slate Jason Holt probably have never watched him play.

09 Jan 2017 08:36:40
I really like wee holt, he gives his all, so does Halliday, but the latters form has dipped

09 Jan 2017 10:21:31
What has Holt actually achieved on the pitch this season?

09 Jan 2017 13:03:28
holt aqhcieved on the pitch?
what kind of question is that he has achieved the same as the rest of the rangers players!
ande let's be fair to the boy his workrate is brilliant but for me lacks a wee bit of finess/ quality.
but I could say that qabout most of the team .

I will say that these players are doing a great job as we are second which is better than what I thought we would be

09 Jan 2017 13:16:37
Unfortunately Holt's all is not enough. He lacks quality but he is young and might develop with the correct coaching. As for Halliday I am not convince he gives his all in every game. He is poor in the tackle, generally his passes are a tad short that puts the receiving player at risk and most of his passing is sideways and backwards. As I have said previously, he lacks guile and his reading of the game is not very good. He is at best a Championship player and we should be looking for better players in our starting eleven.

09 Jan 2017 14:04:49
Holt would walk into any team in the league outwith Celtic. So how is he championship at best? Ridiculous.

10 Jan 2017 00:27:32
Clearly wouldn't when he was deemed not good enough for hearts mate
