Rohlwithcheese, I don't think it will be Dahl before Wednesday but the RR message was a bit confusing. They said that the deal is not very far down the road but then said that we had tabled a bid which had been rejected and we knew what we needed to do to get him. Also that Diomande would likely have to go before we progressed the move.

Tabling a bid seems to suggest that it is quite far down the road and that we were serious in signing Dahl even before Diomande has moved. If Tromso had accepted our bid he would be signed and Diomande would still be here as well. We should sign Dahl, confident that we can offload any of the three existing midfielders that we don't want.

Grog is correct. Ure didn't leave Rangers to join a top club. He left to join the academy system in Belgium (Anderlecht B, if I remember correctly), where they play professionally in the leagues up to the 2nd tier.

It's the same reason a lot of our top talent leave, because they have proven routes into the top leagues.

We don't. The best we can offer is a 6-12month loan at Alloa or Raith.

It's not good enough and until the SPFL looks at serious reforms to implement what other nations have been doing for years now, it will continue the same.

Caught up with my friend today, I posted about 6 weeks ago we were very much interested in Ferguson.

Ferguson is keen to come to Rangers one day but not just yet. Bologna see him part of this season plans but were also willing for him to leave if replacement could be found.

Rangers could afford the wages and transfer if other pieces of the puzzle had moved along but Ferguson being home recently feels that he is enjoying life in Italy.

I was informed he wanted to move back home, but this was fake news. You never know in this crazy world of football.

I know this will be a blow to a few on here but this is why Rangers have stepped up the situation with VD & Dahl

As some know, my daughter and Lewis's partner are best friends, and I've kept very quiet on the matter. My understanding is Lewis isn't coming here just yet. He's back from Florida after his break, but they're settled over in Italy. I posted before regarding their house near me, and it's definitely a future home for him and family to reside in.

The plan is to come to Rangers in the future, whether that's near future or a year or two is anyone's guess. As I've said previously, I don't pry or ask those kinda questions.

Gms, I spoke to Lewis and partner at the time (roughly five years ago) and I asked him tongue in cheek when he was coming, and by Lewis's own admission he said he wasn't good enough at that time. Now he's gone and done the right thing by moving overseas, which I also think a few of our Scottish younger lads should do, as not only would it benefit them but it will also benefit the National team. As much as I'd like Lewis to play for our great club, I've also seen it from the players' side and the way of life he, his partner and kids have over in Italy.

For example, when he played for them up the road, and even though he was their captain, he was constantly getting his property damaged or him and his partner abused on the street by so called Aberdeen fans, so I personally think if he's creating a better life for family fair play to the young lad.

My friend got the information closer to home about Lewis being happy in Italy. Lewis has a fantastic bond with family and friends who go out to Italy to spend time with the couple.

As for Rangers, all they did was make an enquiry.

Nothing serious, my friend said Bologna see him as a big part of his plans, but there was wiggle room as I stated before.

My concern is we are going to hear this every window now. I hope the boy does well over there, and if there is a time right for Rangers, then one day he will come.

He's grasped the opportunity and hopefully set a bit of an example for other youngsters to follow. The culture in this country has always been a bit much for a lot of our young players and, sadly, they fall away.

Andy Newport is reporting there is no agreement for Dahl yet. We haven't met their asking price. (If) we want him, we'll need to get a move. Now, many will shout down Newport, but he's no more or less accurate than many on here.

Just because you disagree with the headline or don't like it doesn't make it false. Let's hope we grab him soon. I think he'll be gone elsewhere by the end of next week.

Chris Jack and the RR, who said 3 weeks ago Ferguson was miles off and not close, and many rinsed them as folk chose to believe someone on here they've never met who said it was. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I don't think anyone on here is anymore (ITK) than the media. As I've said before, even the worst fishermen, if they cast enough lines, will catch fish.



In regards to Dahl, he said he'd prefer Rangers to Besiktas in January, did he not? I think if we don't move soon he might get a few more better offers from more attractive leagues. Let's hope not. The boy on very little viewing looks a player and was previously mentioned by Asa. Time will tell, Wishy!

Iron Ranger, I don't think anyone apart from 1 or 2 on the site is in the know full stop. I get the feeling that a lot of these kid on in the know posters read something online then come here and post it as gospel, either that or they make stuff up to try and feel relevant.

I've been an avid reader of this site for over 10 years, under different names (terrible at remembering passwords), and it's getting kind of hard to filter through all the bull these days.
