EHL wee question, you alluded that Barron was interested in a move too Italy, was this one of the moves that collapsed before the window was shut and wasn't there a few others that were close but not finalised.
Just thinking ahead to January and if Rohl able to make a wee stamp on the squad.

Agree1

27 Oct 2025 18:59:52
Yeah, there was interest, but I think it was too late in the window for it to be progressed.

Will be interesting to see how Rohl uses the squad and which players get minutes ahead of January.

27 Oct 2025 19:43:03
I believe there was a last minute chance of a loan to Bologna in August.

27 Oct 2025 21:42:08
Looking at it Rohl will use most of the squad I think we will see 3-5 subs each game plus rotations.

27 Oct 2025 22:06:19
RFC22 - I laughed at his post match presser when he said he said he's not scared to make changes and make the quickly, then casually said he's made 4 changes at half time before.

Imagine being in the changing room at half time when that happens.

28 Oct 2025 06:38:28
Danny will use multiple formations, adapting the teams strengths to go for the win, nice to see a manager who isn't scared to try different formations and tactics,
Past managers have stuck with 1 or 2 formations.

28 Oct 2025 12:23:47
I don't see any reason to let Barron leave and definitely not on loan, we bemoan missing out on young Scottish talent, well this one we did get and we should be developing him. There is no way he should have been playing second fiddle to Rothwell this season.

28 Oct 2025 13:07:07
Wsl because he was told he was not in the managers thoughts same as Nsiala dessers Bajrami Davies Matondo Danilo.

28 Oct 2025 18:24:41
Yet he started as captain in the first pre season friendly. Did he not start and star in the first OF game as well. Thank god he didn't go and we got rid of Martin before he shoved him out the door. Just confirms again the muddled thinking of that imposter.

29 Oct 2025 06:05:05
Its a good message to send if your not on it right away subs will be quick no messing around keep players on thier toes and gives squad players a eeason to be optimistic as they know they will get a chance.

29 Oct 2025 13:51:58
Forgot we had Matondo. Is he still not fit or is he just out the loop.

29 Oct 2025 16:39:40
Peter back trying on the grass.

25 Oct 2025 22:36:33
Heard a wee rumour that Thelwell is meddling in first team selection this is actually from a good source.

Agree17

25 Oct 2025 23:07:33
Anyone says good source it's never a good source just nonsense if you want to be part of the toxic party take it elsewhere.

25 Oct 2025 23:22:30
Yeah, Thelwell gets to pick 3 players, Purdy gets to pick 2 and now Thelwell Jr gets to pick 1.

The other 5 are up to Rohl.

I actually think it's a pretty smart way to do it.

25 Oct 2025 23:23:32
Very much doubt it just looking to stir something up.

25 Oct 2025 23:42:10
Looks likely, just see the players chosen for our latest embarassment in Europe, Djigga, Meghoma, Chermiti, all Thelwell favours to his mates down south, no wonder Gerrard and Muscat turned us down as did Rohl originally, no one wants to work under this clown, and that is before we even get to the appointment of his son which is a disgrace, the 49ers must be really proud of their investment, the lost fan revenue, win bonuses from the european campaign, the worst league performance i've seen from Rangers.

we are only going further and further backwards with Thelwell i can't see Rohl lasting long under failwell not when he clearly doesn;t have free reign regards who plays, all the 49ers are doing so far is wasting money and time while Failwell is there to poison every chance we have of any kind of success this season, even the players have literally given up. Tavernier is still our top scorer, would'nt surprise me if failwell was influencing the tactics and system as well? no wonder Gerrard walked away on the 2nd day of the talks after realising Failwells running us in to the ground and doing it at a record rate, nothing good or any kind of success will happen at Rangers while Failwell senior and junior are around.

25 Oct 2025 23:53:41
👏 👏.

26 Oct 2025 00:17:45
Ye Keith Jackson at the record said he'd heard he helped pick the team against Dundee United and influenced the team against Brann.

26 Oct 2025 00:38:53
Yes, it's a rumours page so, please…. no rumours! .

26 Oct 2025 01:42:39
Thats fantasy EHL, only 4 for Rohl, Kitchen staff get one to choose.

26 Oct 2025 07:34:59
You're all wrong, it was rock paper scissors.

26 Oct 2025 08:10:18
More like rock, paper, scissors,
Lizard, Spock!

26 Oct 2025 08:21:49
Only scooby doo and gang can get to the bottom of this.

26 Oct 2025 08:37:57
Whatever the truth is there's one thing we all know and it's that we need to get rid of this charlatan Thelwell 🤔.

26 Oct 2025 08:40:27
BigDado, awaiting that moment where Tav rips off Thelwells mask to reveal he's actually Beale!

26 Oct 2025 08:42:27
Need a truck load of Scooby Snacks to get to the bottom of this mystery -is it Called "Mystery of the missing Chermiti millions" because I know who the culprit is immediately🤔😁😁😁.

26 Oct 2025 08:55:51
Adds a new dimension to "mole" in the camp 😉😇.

26 Oct 2025 09:34:29
Obviously he had some input in those 2 team selections one of them we had an interim manager and the other one the guy was just through the door he's probably sat down with the manager and talked about the players and who he would pick that's probably been it listen I don't think he's good for the club but in both instances but I think you would expect him to do this.

26 Oct 2025 09:35:18
At this point I'd take Beale.

26 Oct 2025 09:42:33
Aye that's true ehl, he'd have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those snooping Rangers fans.

26 Oct 2025 09:59:11
😂 EHL. But remember Beale won 14 out of 15.

26 Oct 2025 10:43:19
Enjoying the laugh folks. 😂 Time will tell.

26 Oct 2025 11:01:16
Halloween sale on Tinfoil Hats somewhere?

26 Oct 2025 11:08:22
Given Thelwell is responsible for most of them being here in the first place, the 'rumour is fairly accurate imo!

26 Oct 2025 13:05:34
Can jnr really get any blame squad was nothing to do with him lol maybe he will do better than his dad.

26 Oct 2025 14:49:40
Just love wearing tin foil hats some fans.

27 Oct 2025 07:24:58
He would haven got away with it to if it wasn't for those meddling fan s

Scrooby- dooby - dooo.

27 Oct 2025 13:02:40
Rumour was reason Gerrard isn't here is because Thelwell and Stewart didn't want bealle in. 🤷🏼‍♂️.

28 Oct 2025 07:51:37
Intruder Alert, lol, that guys a good fisherman, he's hooked a few here.

24 Oct 2025 19:46:02
Craig Moore has confirmed thst muscat didn't become head coach as he wanted to stay in China until end of November and we didn't.
He actually praised Andrew Cavansugh for his leadership.

Agree14

24 Oct 2025 21:12:02
Heard that last week ows, Rangers wanted a manager in right now as well.

24 Oct 2025 21:13:41
Well finally someone else says the truth, not before time 🙄.

24 Oct 2025 22:47:25
Hope that puts paid to some of the ridiculous rumours.

24 Oct 2025 23:35:18
I thought it was because Muscat doesn't want to work with Thelwell and he was going to have no say in any transfers.

25 Oct 2025 09:36:32
Tav that's what the red tops printed and some anti Thelwells i'm only posting shst Craig Moore muscsts agent ssid in go radio.

25 Oct 2025 11:41:14
No, the majority wanted it to be because of Thelwell. Suits the argument nicely. We needed a manager now! And that's the reason. Rohl was immediate. Arrived, suit on, brown shoes, training sessions and on the plane to Norway. All on the same suitcase. Muscat couldn't do that so. he missed the poisoned chalice.

25 Oct 2025 12:50:32
So it's high likely that SG did walk away from on for a second time and nothing to do with Thelwell it's all SG 👀.

25 Oct 2025 13:25:50
Its all a matter of who you want to believe, the owner who only gets to say it once or the narrative built up by media and bloggers who spread it to the masses. The anti Thelwell and Stewart narrative is best suited by the Muscat refused to work with them story.

People should listed to Cavenaghs version of the process which makes sense.
I'm glad Moore spoke out though, too many ex players give their opinion, which they are entitled to do, but the make is sound like they are in the know so fans want to believe them.

25 Oct 2025 14:28:53
Exactly walters. Thelwell is the new fall guy for everything. Of course his signings hasn't set the Heather alight but for some i'd say it's early days n there's potential there n some will just never cut it here but that's football.

Cany get every signing spot on. This thewell is picking the team! Ridiculous man. People need to chill out a bit. We all want a successfull Rangers but acting like para obsessed mob fae the east end isnae helping.

25 Oct 2025 14:30:09
When you say "the anti Thelwells', onewaltersmith, are you implying that there are any pro Thelwells, and are you one of the pro?

25 Oct 2025 15:09:53
Yes Strøm as i have been saying from the outset of the events. He walked away. Again.

Stewart and Thelwell were at fault for nothing in the new manager search.

25 Oct 2025 15:22:56
JBL, the majority of fans are anti-Thelwell and say someone isn't anti-Thelwell doesn't mean they are pro-Thelwell.

25 Oct 2025 17:30:16
Jimmy, i'm against Thelwell, but all I read last week was Muscat refused the job because he didn't want players signed by him and if you read online and some red tops you'd have seen that was the story people were going with, but that's now been dismissed by a guy with no allegiance to Thelwell.

25 Oct 2025 17:34:42
Storm I think Sg may have took a look at our squad and thought he'd struggle to do anything and thursdsy night opened eyes of many fans who'd been inclined to think the Russel martin style was holding them back the truth is we have a squad prob 3rd best behind Celtic and hearts when ir comes to mentality and we will struggle to finish 3rd this season.

25 Oct 2025 19:48:55
Imagine defending Stewart and Thelwell 🤣.

25 Oct 2025 20:55:37
Asathor, Franco, you guys live in a parallel universe. Your defense of Thelwell combined with your lack of knowledge about agency representation is astounding. and Asa claims to be involved in football. Aye very good!

25 Oct 2025 23:05:52
So Allyg72 you are saying I love in a parallel universe because I don't share your narrow minded ignorance?
Where have I not understood agency representation?
Where have I defended Thelwell as a director of football?

But by all means if it makes you happy continue to live in blissful ignorance in your small minded bitterness.

If you wish to believe the notoriously factual and honest British tabloid press then that says more about you than it does about me.

I suppose if I were to join your universe and believe the tabloid press I could join you in your doomsday bunker and await the zombie apocalypse.

I am kidding I think I would prefer to remain in the world of truth and integrity and place my faith in the chairman who has been far more transparent than those before him.

26 Oct 2025 05:21:21
Sounds like stromprooper and asa are confirming that Steven Gerrard deliberately left his settled lifestyle, family and new grandkid behind just so he could fly to London to meet the owners, then decided to just walk away after 2 days of negotiations, aye ok then LMFAO.
Both the 49ers and Gerrard were clearly interested in finalising the deal, something clearly went wrong on day 2, what exactly that was? The only ones that really know were in the meeting / negotiations,
Could it have been the funds required to build a squad capable of winning the spfl and competing in europa? the finer details of the contract? Were the 49ers team unable to finalise the backroom staff deals? Or a combination of several?
You 2 clearly detest Gerrard for some reason, you know the guy that had us smashing high quality teams in europe with a far inferior squad, winning the league in spectacular fashion, stopping what would now be 15 in a row for celtic, no doubt one of you will bring up the league win was during covid as was nearly every league in europe and beyond guess that would make every european clubs league wins less significant too.

You would rather have Muscat or Rohl who will never get anywhere near Gerrards league or european level with us, while Celtic move further ahead of us in equaling and superceding our long held trophy haul.
A blind dug can see why Gerrard turned us down, the squad is gash, we have an absolute of a defence, an unhappy fanbase, lack of serious funds, and 2 utter clowns running the positions above the manager, we suck in the league and are the laughing stock of the europa league, aye Gerrard just walked away, no manager in their right mind would touch the position with a barge pole right now, so Gerrard was smart to walk away because the club and fans deserve far better than whatever the 49ers offered, hence them going back to Rohl a second time, the clubs in regression and has been for 3-4 years now and it ain't changing anytime soon.

26 Oct 2025 08:22:16
Laudrup you are showing how much you support Rangers with that comment.

Get over it Gerrard turned Rangers down.

It is Rangers football club not Steven Gerrard football club.

Why don't you start supporting the club over a manager nestled in the middle east.

26 Oct 2025 09:01:34
Loving the positivity on here😇.

26 Oct 2025 09:11:30
Fork I fear we might actually be in the minority in giving the manager and team our full backing and holding out hope of a positive resurgence.

26 Oct 2025 10:03:48
Fight!

26 Oct 2025 10:36:55
Will take time, lots too look at for Rohl, wishing for who chose not to come won't change anything, have to support the guy and let's see what he can do as quite a few have advocated.

26 Oct 2025 10:51:12
Definitely my friend it will not be a quick fix, Martin has ripped the soul from the team.

I do truly believe we will be successful under Röhl.

26 Oct 2025 10:57:28
Hagi, you sum up the situation on Gerrard really well imo. I find it difficult to accept that any Ranger's supporter cannot acknowledge the giant strides he made in Europe, after a debacle in Luxembourg only one year before.

He enhanced Ranger's name throughout Europe and it culminated with the team and system he had built getting to the final in Seville.
Only a true Gerrard Hater with another agenda deny his great European record.

26 Oct 2025 11:29:16
It's what matters now not what happened then, yes he done well, had us scaring good teams in Europe, got 55, great, but it's history, he chose not to come back, his choice, can't pine for a guy who has his own thoughts on his future, we move on.

26 Oct 2025 12:32:19
I back Rohl 100% and think he will do a very good job in time, he's been left with a squad that needs rejuvenated, galvanised and lots more. Btw just want to add SG told more than a few in auchenhowie that he was all in, then he had discussions with Thewell. the rest is history.

26 Oct 2025 13:06:01
I've been critical of management and recruitment but it is time to put it aside for a while and back Rohl to start improving things. The players are what they are until at least January and we are stuck with them. If Rohl does the right things and we still don't get results especially domestically then that will confirm that we have recruited players who are simply not good enough and more recriminations should follow.

Its down to the players now to play well in the Scottish league at least that should not be beyond them.

26 Oct 2025 14:51:44
Gotta love people still backing a guy that's walked away twice now embarrassing SG could poo on yer rice krispes and you would still
Love him 😂.

27 Oct 2025 12:35:36
I actually can't believe how some many are actually stuck on Gerrard, it's almost scary. Sure he won the league and I shred a tear or two but he isn't a good manager or other teams would be looking at him and according to him, he's had offers but they weren't right, he didn't want to be considered in the summer and has walked away again. Wonder why? Money, he moved to the Saudi league for money in the first place instead of dropping to the championship like Rooney and Lampard to build his reputation, Clement turned down Saudi money for us.

I'm sick of seeing people give him credit for building a team that got to the Europa league final, he left saying the team wasn't good enough and he wasn't backed so how can you give him credit? Ross Wilson built it and GIO was the one who got us there and if we brought a striker in January that season we would of won it. Gio (champions league aside), Clement and even Beale were good in Europe. The reason we won the league wasn't Covid, it was he got 3 seasons and at least 4 transfer windows (can't remember if there was restrictions for Covid) to build a team and that's backing, everyone since and before him haven't seen a full season to build upon. He's not Walter Smith.

Koppen should still be here but a lot wanted him gone too. Thelwell and co should be gone and will be if January isn't good. The whole defence being gone next season is a disaster, having 1 left back after finally fixing that is a disaster and 10 million for Chermiti when you could of had Cerny and Sima is a joke.

28 Oct 2025 19:30:26
Cavanagh clearly said himself Thelwell and Stewart were involved in the manager appointment process. None of us know the guy or anything about him but we should believe what he says.

24 Oct 2025 18:20:04
Is Lee Wallace being interviewed for a position in Rohl's back room or is it just paper talk?

Agree0

24 Oct 2025 20:38:29
I'd quite like McCann.

24 Oct 2025 20:48:27
They probably seen it on here.

25 Oct 2025 11:42:16
Rohl certainly needs to meet him. Needs to know he can trust and has the skills.

25 Oct 2025 13:29:17
Don't know what Wallace has been doing recently but he should only be involved if he has some relevant coaching experience behind him. Guys like McCann, Thomson and McCulloch who have experience managing and coaching in the Scottish leagues maybe more suited to the role.
We could start succession planning and involve Stevie Smith with someone like Wallace taking over the U19s.

25 Oct 2025 14:45:49
JMF do you think Wallace being linked was only mentioned on here? Wallace spending time at Sheff Weds was made known to me by someone on X.

25 Oct 2025 14:51:58
4 people have been interviewed / met with Rohl and staff regarding the coaching roles. Led to believe he is keen to add 2 people to his staff (at least one being Rangers related).

McCulloch, Wallace, Smith, and another have met with the manager (someone suggested Rhys McCabe). McCulloch last with Hearts, Wallace current B-Team role at Hearts and has coached the majority of his career, Smith with our current 19s and McCabe last in charge at Airdrie. No indication of who will be hired.

Wouldn't mind McCulloch coming in to be a lean on for the manager and one of the others to be first team coach. We live and dream.

26 Oct 2025 09:03:07
EHL spoke highly of Doddsy, thought he would've been under consideration.

26 Oct 2025 12:33:50
Billy Dodds very experienced in Scottish game and would be welcome back.

23 Oct 2025 23:17:45
Had a message from a friend tonight saying that the ex-player joining Rohl's team is Lee McCulloch. Haven't seen his name mentioned on here. No idea if there is any truth to it either.

Agree13

23 Oct 2025 23:38:49
Would be fantastic, would be great to get the two Lee's back together.

24 Oct 2025 01:26:17
Big jump g would be a fantastic idea.

24 Oct 2025 04:49:10
Lee mculloch 🤦🏻‍♂️.

24 Oct 2025 07:13:53
Allegedly in the frame also Rhys McCabe has spoke with Rohl,

24 Oct 2025 08:10:11
Big jig, u seen his turkey teeth their dazzlin😉😬.

24 Oct 2025 08:20:20
There isn't a Rangers man alive that could motivate Thelwell's muppets, Rohl could be the best coach in the world and it wouldn't matter…

He'll need to be given to at least the end of the season and will also need a similar expenditure in January to what was spent in August to even stand a chance of improvement…

Will our fans give him that?

Highly doubtful 🤨.

24 Oct 2025 08:51:21
We need a new DOF in asap, who should be tasked with returning loan players and getting as many of these imposters off the books in January (no easy task! ). Sell Raskin to fund some incomings and prepare for next season. This current lot will struggle to finish top 4 let alone top 2.

24 Oct 2025 09:49:13
No doubt Rohl is going to need time and money to sort this mess out.

But I was gobsmaked he played Djiga, Antman and Chementi in his first 11.

Like I said, that result is not on Rohl at all, but it did worry me that was his initial thoughts!

As for his mindset, and the small discussion with the fans at the end, I thought that was very clever, open and respectful, refreshing to see.

Let's hope the squad now get behind him and get some fire in their bellies. think we will be spending a few quid in January as well, but who do we off load and in what positions?

My opinion we need a new back four and play two up front every game.
Playing a lone striker has never worked that well for us.

24 Oct 2025 10:09:44
John i'll try and find out regarding Rhys McCabe mate as i know his old man Kevin 👍.

24 Oct 2025 11:09:37
Only players that stay in the team are Butland and Raskin

Raskin will be a lot better once he is around better players but that'll tale a couple of transfer windows.

Guys like Tav, Souttar, Dgija, Meghoma, Rothwell, Antman, Aasgard, Chermiti all need dropped and most need totally replaced.

Barron is a good wee player but he's not going to win us games.
Cameron could be a good player for us but will likely take time to come back from injury.

Miovski. i thought would be better but he is surrounded by duds and doesn't get a lot of service.

Curtis needs to be used more for sure and progress him.

Danny will get until the end of the season i think, surely.

Fans now need to be realistic though.

24 Oct 2025 12:07:38
Never seen so much nonsense in my life tbh. "Giving" the manager till the end of the season? Who do you think you are? Danny Rohl deserves to be given the time he needs to rebuild our club. Chopping and changing manager constantly has created this absolute sh*t show that we are in and if we have any chance of turning it around we need to give the manager/ head coach the time it takes to do so. The writing off of players who were utterly destroyed under Martin is nothing short of a disgrace. I see above someone actually thinks it's a good idea to sell our best player! Madness! Antman is a decent player, as is Asgaard but their confidence and fitness was battered by a complete impostor of a coach. That runs through the team.

I am honestly of the belief that under normal circumstances the league is still doable, but in reality the cups offer our only chance of winning silverware this season. Celtic are beatable in the upcoming semi final and the Scottish Cup is a possibility as well with decent draws. Europe is a complete write off obviously.

One question for you all, how many of you go to games in supporters buses which carry the name "loyal" - look up the meaning of the word. How many of you sing songs like Follow Follow? Again, listen to the words.

We are all in this together and need to pull together to come through this bad spell.

24 Oct 2025 12:37:26
In all honesty i actually have bo issues with midfield, wingers and do think Niovski will come good again when the confidence of team improves. For me the issue is 100% defensively we need a fresh back line maybe a mix of experienced CBs and promising but decent wing backs. I say that because Rohl only had a day with the team before Thursday which is shocking if he had been in earlier he could have had a lot longer with the non international lads and worked a lot on them but that's not his fault.

He has to undo the damage Martin has done and the judgement of these new guys is based on the pish, Martin had them playing. I think some not all ate better than being suggested and with a bit of time under proper coaching we might see that. In saying that I've wanted us to play 2 up top for years i'd like to see tradional 442 or even a 4222 would have loved to see Dessers and Igamane play together more. 1 striker up top with this teams current play and confidence is pointless just now.

24 Oct 2025 12:38:44
Its unbelievable that after all the changes in the summer we look as if we need to have a do over. the players we have signed simply aren't good enough and listening to the senior players recently, also seem to have an attitude problem. The loanees all need to be returned as soon as contractually possible as they are useless and whether we rate them or not guys like Cameron, Barron, Diomande and maybe even Curtis, Rice and Nsiala need to be more involved.

I would also like to see Fernandez get a game to see what he's got. We are crying out for a big centre half who will go and head a ball at both ends of the pitch because Souttar, Cornelius and especially Djiga can't do it. Build the team around those that work hard and care, as a first step.

24 Oct 2025 12:55:05
A lot of our strikers the last couple of years didn't get much service but one still scored plenty and was run out of town by some fans.

24 Oct 2025 13:04:34
What is there to find out he has spoken with Rohl, we will know soon enough if we put an ex Rangers in squad,

24 Oct 2025 13:37:42
DTB - great post 👏.

24 Oct 2025 14:43:19
Some people think kt been picking team for last 2 games!

24 Oct 2025 15:43:33
What has the word 'Loyal' in supporters clubs names or the lyrics of Follow Follow got to do with giving Danny Rohl until the end of the season to improve performances?

Absolute drivel…

People posting here whether positive or negative would suggest they are 'Loyal' and that they 'Follow Follow' otherwise they wouldn't bother posting.

DTB are you suggesting that if Rohl doesn't improve performances by the end of the season he should be allowed to continue next season regardless because that would demonstrate loyalty and be in line with the lyrics to follow follow?

Apply the words below to your own post…

"never seen so much nonsense in my life tbh".

24 Oct 2025 15:48:15
Where's the money for a rebuild coing from? We used the fees ftom iga yolmaz and dessers we are unlikely to have Europe next season and with financial rules can't just invest money to spend on players. The damage done this summer could take 2 years to fix and we cannot allow Thelwell to be in charge of any recruitment we can afford in jan.

24 Oct 2025 16:52:32
Well fired Rohl - did you do as I suggested or just spout absolute drivel in response? If you want to keep booing and shouting at a new head coach, feel free to do so.

I suggest looking up the meanings as I suggested, educate yourself as to the meaning of loyal. Also, mean the words you may or may not sing. I am thinking it's more likely to be not, you will be one of many who pay good money to moan.

You can respond if you like, but the world and it's dug know you will be clutching at straws as always.

24 Oct 2025 17:50:37
Wee McCabe would be a great addition. Plays football the right way and punched with Airdrie.

24 Oct 2025 20:36:31
If we don't qualify for Europe we don't need to worry about FFP rules, there are none in Scotland.

24 Oct 2025 22:50:57
The Rangers defence has been leaking stupid goals for 3 years at least.

25 Oct 2025 07:26:14
The way we are going we might qualify for the scottish 1st division, massive opportunity we have missed to take Celtic out and win the league at minimum, to be fair though Mcinnes has hearts playing very well and they have not spent much on the 11 players they added for a mere 3 mill in total, if they do win the league its well deserved on current form, imagine what Mciness could have done managing us with half of what Thelwells squandered,
Will Fernandez and Nsiala ever get a game as CB pairing, bet they would have done far better than djigga and Souttar.

25 Oct 2025 13:04:06
DTB - I'm backing Rohl to the end of the season but he must improve performances by the end of the season to continue further.

If he doesn't improve performances by then why on earth would you back him to continue?

Absolute lunacy!

25 Oct 2025 13:24:46
Rhys would definitely improve things. My wee boy does 1 to 1s with rhys i'll ask him about it.

28 Oct 2025 11:42:43
Not losing to Hibs would be progress no doubt about that.

22 Oct 2025 17:20:54
Hearing that barry ferguson is possibly going to be part of danny rohl's backroom team 🤔Has any of our posters heard the same 🤔.

Agree16

22 Oct 2025 17:53:16
Highly doubt it. What does he really offer as a coach?

22 Oct 2025 18:20:31
Not heard his name yet, appear Rohl has spoke to two ex Rangers today.

22 Oct 2025 18:30:27
Danny Rohl is a good coach Barry is a different personality to put in there, he knows the club and knows what it takes to win at the club. I'd love Barry to learn of someone like Danny Rohl.

22 Oct 2025 18:37:04
Davis or Wallace.

22 Oct 2025 18:37:38
I don't want Ferguson learning. I want someone who can operate with passion and skills.

22 Oct 2025 19:15:08
Think bringing Barry in as a coach would be a huge mistake. For me he did ok as an interim manager but personally i think he would clash with Rohl and overstep boundaries.

22 Oct 2025 19:16:06
Yes John, the other 2 names i heard Danny Rohl had spoken to are maurice ross and steven davis 🤔.

22 Oct 2025 19:26:44
We need Rangers men in the club. I would take Barry. But i feel a Kevin Thomson / Neil McCann might be better suited.

22 Oct 2025 19:38:08
We don't need paid cheerleaders.
We need coaches who bring value.

22 Oct 2025 20:03:04
Steve Davis would be a great option.

22 Oct 2025 20:16:55
Would love barry back as a coach think he would do a great job.

22 Oct 2025 20:22:47
I couldn't care one iota if any of our coaches were former Rangers players. I just want them to be good at their job, who will help improve the team. The thought of Ferguson or Wallace rocking up to take a coaching role stinks of a token gesture to gain brownie points. It's pretty desperate, actually.

22 Oct 2025 20:37:28
Steve Davis for me.

Doing a great job with Michael Oneill and Northern Ireland.

22 Oct 2025 20:49:13
No to Barry but would happily take the others mentioned above. Davis, McCann, Thompson and Ross.

22 Oct 2025 21:14:31
I am not sure if BF will get the gig, wants the gig, or needs the gig. however I am sure of one thing, if anyone deserves the gig and a chance to learn and advance their skills it's BF.

Some of the driffle on here against BF is shocking! Not to mention undeserved.
He is due a chance whatever the role.
Respect the man.
He respects us!

22 Oct 2025 21:21:05
Yes Walter I read these names as well, not the two names I've heard, nor is Thomson.

22 Oct 2025 21:35:33
Hopefully any of the names mentioned before Ferguson.

22 Oct 2025 22:29:19
Personally I would love Defoe for the attackers McCann for the wingers Davis for the midfielders and Ross for the defenders bring them home.

22 Oct 2025 22:50:03
Albrfc, that won't happen, four wages, only be one.

22 Oct 2025 23:43:43
Totally agree JR1972.

23 Oct 2025 00:35:32
Barry wants to be number 1 and the main man. Think it would be a disaster with him as an assistant.
Steven Davis or Duncan Ferguson for me.

23 Oct 2025 01:31:57
Thomson's been in and out of the club like a yo-yo for years, it's an absolute no for me, as is Ferguson and McCann.

23 Oct 2025 02:20:22
JR no one is having a go at Barry jeezo man just because he's a legend doesn't mean we can't criticise him. As a Player fantastic, Someone I will always look up to and appreciate but as a Coach what "Value" does he bring other than "haha Rangers man"

23 Oct 2025 06:38:48
Barry would be a disaster but Duncan would do great. Wow.

23 Oct 2025 07:03:19
I think it's important to have a qualified coach with knowledge of the league and the club - it's pretty common at most clubs.

23 Oct 2025 07:10:47
Why are some on here so fixated by trying to shoehorn D Ferguson in to a coaching role? Or Wallace? Or B Ferguson? Have you been asleep for the past 13 years? We need real, successful, talented coaches, not token cheerleaders.

The reasons for our failures is nothing to do with not having a 'Rangers core' through our coaching team, it's because we had the wrong managers, players, and coaches who were bad at their jobs.

23 Oct 2025 08:22:07
I respect Barry and what he feels and what he did for Rangers. However, I want someone skills and talent ready to assist Rhol. Not someone learning. Barry just isn't clever enough. You need more than love and beating your chest.

McCann seems a fair shout but I think he either doesn't want it or if he was going to get it he'd be named by now. Perhaps someone who can actually take the reigns when Rohl goes. Big shout.

23 Oct 2025 08:47:38
Sunshine supporter you clearly know nothing about Lee Wallace as a coach, very highly thought of. Would be an excellent addition in my opinion. Much better than the other names being mentioned.

23 Oct 2025 09:03:55
BF was a great Captain and player but also instrumental in the downfall of Paul Le Guen.
Also his association with Keith Jackson left a lot to be desired so it's a no from me.

23 Oct 2025 09:46:03
What i'd like to see is some succession planning where we have someone in the first team coaching structure who is being developed to take over the head coach/ manager role in the years to come.

Souness/ Smith or Smith/ McCoist. Ideally someone who has been involved in the club but it doesn't have to be, the primary objective is someone who is a quality coach/ leader who right now shows potential.

23 Oct 2025 10:22:41
Usually agree with most of your posts sunshine but when you have a majority foreign staff I think it's important to have someone who knows the club and the league to help them. It's not a token gesture if they are going to bring value. He looks like he has already added a couple of high level coaches aswell.

23 Oct 2025 10:47:11
Having listened to Maurice Ross during his commentary I think his knowledge of the game is brilliant and he knows our club and league. Wouldn't mind if they added him to the coaching staff and same with Steve Davis. Think both would bring strong qualities to the team.

23 Oct 2025 10:50:10
100% agree with SS couldn't give a monkeys where the coaches used to be I just want winners in there that can.

23 Oct 2025 10:50:44
Shakey thought of by who?

23 Oct 2025 10:52:48
Pc had a ex Rangers player in there how did that go? So it doesn't need to be an ex Rangers player.

23 Oct 2025 10:55:56
Common sense coops11. Will never catch on. Like the sound of that approach.

23 Oct 2025 11:16:16
St Mirren should be asked about Robinson, if he is willing to come in and be assistant, then we have got our next manager lined up.

23 Oct 2025 11:47:19
Jorg around the place makes sense, Scots connection maybe McCann, smart guy and big help for Danny in many ways.

23 Oct 2025 12:45:32
Maurice Ross is a joke, an absolute failure at Cowdenbeath where from personal knowledge he thought he was something special. He shouldn't be anywhere near this position. Neil McCann would be my preference but would be happy with Davis, Wallace or Ferguson.

23 Oct 2025 13:36:53
Lee Wallace shouldn't be anywhere near Rangers senior team.

23 Oct 2025 14:42:34
Why does Ferguson have such a push to be included as a coach at Rangers he's done nothing in coaching/ management to be anywhere near consideration in fact if you look at his management history there's enough there to say he should be nowhere near the place.

23 Oct 2025 15:54:14
What about Billy Dodds is he not meant to be a decent coach
or Stuart McCall he might shock us an bring in someone who knows our league but no connection to Rangers.

23 Oct 2025 19:39:48
I find it funny how it's the same ex players names that get banded about. Kevin Thomson lol still begging for a job.

23 Oct 2025 23:16:38
The man has took one training session, but in 3/ 4 months our European reputation is obliterated! I fear by December we could be no further forward.
What a job he's got on his hands!

24 Oct 2025 08:58:21
Id love to see Davis and Defoe in for coaches, one we all know, knows the club and league like the back of his hand. The other just proper loved the club and if his playing career was owt to go by fully understands what it takes to be part of a team and graft his arse off.

Mo Ross i wouldnae mind either.

That said, Rohl possibly wants a fresh set of eyes on things that ain't going to look at stuff through rose/ blue tinted glasses. And give our situation at the minute that's probably not a bad thing. Is Thelwell going to let him though.

25 Oct 2025 07:31:31
Id go for Lovenkrands personally, knows our club and league inside out, itll never happen but Laudrup and Lovenkrands as Manager and Assistant.
