The Herald are reporting Rangers have held talks with Francesco Farioli, recently sacked by Ajax.
1.) 29 May 2025 20:17:44
Just posted that as well billy?.
2.) 29 May 2025 20:24:42
Was he not someone we apparently were interested in before perhaps when Gerrard left or am I thinking of someone else?
3.) 29 May 2025 20:33:22
We have never been in for this guy I don't think stig.
Only think I know about him is he blew a massive lead in the title race.
4.) 29 May 2025 20:40:48
100% we wanted this guy after gerrard.
5.) 29 May 2025 21:03:57
Wasn't after gerrard John it was after Gio.
6.) 29 May 2025 21:04:29
I recall being in hospitality John and someone mentioning Fariola had been recommended to us when SG left. I think he'd be a very good appointment. In regards to blowing a 9 point lead whilst some of the responsibility lies with him do we just exempt the players from blame. Is there any context? Injuries or suspensions? Or do we just right off a Manager based on 1 campaign with a team that was an absolute bin fire the season before … ??♂️.
7.) 29 May 2025 21:27:28
We tried to get him. bdfore michael beale.
8.) 29 May 2025 21:51:40
Good to know the old memory isn't gone completely lol.
9.) 29 May 2025 22:05:35
One minute an announcement is imminent for Ancelotti and now we're speaking with yet more managers. This is becoming tedious now, I'm out. I'll check the news in 2 weeks and see where we're at in our manger search.
10.) 29 May 2025 22:21:55
I checked back reports and it was when we got Beale but Beale had been decided before gio was sacked so I don't believe the reports just my opinion he would have been 30/ 31 back then I think.
11.) 29 May 2025 23:09:49
So the media now know the managers we're after, bs, clueless on the next Rangers managerial appointment.
12.) 30 May 2025 00:35:11
9 points in 5 games lmac.
13.) 30 May 2025 06:08:29
He wasn't sacked, he stepped down.
16 Mar 2025 14:03:39
Hi gents, I think this is old ground, but is the general belief that the 49ers / Cavanagh takeover will still happen, irrespective of whether Leeds United get promoted?
One would imagine they wouldn't have taken things to this advanced stage if Leeds season was a significant factor, but what do I know about corporate takeovers.
1.) 16 Mar 2025 14:36:03
Leeds have nothing to do with the Rangers takeover.
2.) 16 Mar 2025 15:13:40
Is there anything in the story that EFL doesn't allow owner of 2 clubs?
3.) 16 Mar 2025 15:57:09
Yes will still happen. What happens if they go up and leeds get relegated straight away if that was the case?
4.) 16 Mar 2025 16:20:16
Non story, Nottingham Forest had no issues neither do we.
5.) 16 Mar 2025 16:23:00
That's an old rule that doesn't exist anymore regardless of leagues I've read.
6.) 16 Mar 2025 16:33:31
Again only problem is if leeds are in europe which they are not and not likely to be.
How many times does this need explained.
7.) 16 Mar 2025 17:18:29
Kaiser go look at Watford.
8.) 16 Mar 2025 17:25:06
Think the rule being scrubbed at end of season.
9.) 16 Mar 2025 19:26:27
It's not a problem if they are in Europe either Man City and girona the 2 red bull teams played each other a couple of seasons ago.
10.) 16 Mar 2025 20:07:41
Didn't think anything in it but again was being reported on certain sites. Usual nonsense but just thought I'd check. ?.
11.) 16 Mar 2025 20:21:58
Allan nixon of the sun wrote today if Leeds get promoted they may need a rule change to own more than 1 club but rules less stringent in the lower leagues.
12.) 16 Mar 2025 21:41:54
Onewalter no he's said they need promotion. I don't think its going to break the deal either way.
13.) 17 Mar 2025 02:48:44
Stormtrooper it depends on the circumstances
Maybe i should have said uefa become concerned and keep an eye on the situation which they do.
14.) 17 Mar 2025 10:11:45
The rules if at all relevant in this would be down to individuals, it would be simple if it were a company or org to create an entirely separate one legally and I don't think the prospective owners are in any way naïve or stupid. Though much of the media appear to be a bit dim .
09 Oct 2023 10:11:29
The Scotsman are reporting that three candidates will be interviewed: Clement, Muscat and Parker.
1.) 09 Oct 2023 10:36:28
Parker? Just shoot me now! Honestly, if Parker is in the running, and he was to get the job, then that's it for me. He talks more BS than Beale, and that's saying something.
On a side note. Has anyone seen the video of Parker slabbering on to the tune of dry your eyes by the Streets? It's quite funny.
2.) 09 Oct 2023 10:46:00
if u ain't Gona back whoever get the job then do one rangers don't need so called fans like that.
3.) 09 Oct 2023 10:54:33
I had heard it was Clement, Muscat and Glasner.
4.) 09 Oct 2023 11:00:12
?????.
5.) 09 Oct 2023 11:14:03
Parker would do for the board no compen and quite cheap . He would be able to confuse them, if he even mentions football they would fold.
Plus they could blame him if it all collapses . again .
6.) 09 Oct 2023 11:39:00
Eustace just been sacked by Birmingham. Talk of Rooney taking over there. Hope nothing to do with us. For me it has to be either Clement or Glasner.
7.) 09 Oct 2023 12:21:30
The board should sit down with Birmingham city owners and have a chat as long as it's not about football as nobody has any knowledge of it . Maybe discuss blazers and ties etc and international jaunts with the players . for free .
8.) 09 Oct 2023 12:28:14
Could follow Inverness without need of scarf purchase, worth a thought as they have a football guy in charge of team and he's Scots which is an advantage .
Any other blue n white teams, not Cowdenbeath I'm not mental .
9.) 09 Oct 2023 12:35:58
Parker is back up in case everyone else says no.
{Ed001's Note - by everyone else, are you including me and you John? Only that should be the only time that he should be under consideration. He is a bottler.}
10.) 09 Oct 2023 12:39:49
The comment. the so called fans. What a joke you are for even saying that.
11.) 09 Oct 2023 12:36:21
McInnes getting the job.
12.) 09 Oct 2023 12:44:50
Hopefully it’s Muscat, Clement, or Glasner.
13.) 09 Oct 2023 12:49:39
I’m too old Ed 1. My son and law says he would take it
Mcinnes one win in 8.
{Ed001's Note - age is just a number, ask Hodgson.}
14.) 09 Oct 2023 13:14:06
Micky can't see a possibility of Mcinnes, only tims saying that will our next manager.
15.) 09 Oct 2023 13:17:01
If none of the names mentioned want it and we end up with McInnes or Parker, questions need asked of the board to find out why? I know he is damaged goods at the moment but I would rather have Lampard than Parker any day of the week. Far more experienced at a higher level .
16.) 09 Oct 2023 13:30:11
Only Parker I would consider is Peter Parker - he could take us to new heights?.
17.) 09 Oct 2023 13:37:15
Think John told us last week parker was spoken too, hopefully we don't have to fall back on him. Still hoping we get Clement but reckon could be McInnis.
18.) 09 Oct 2023 13:57:53
Blue Floyd, are you blowing the bugle for him?
19.) 09 Oct 2023 14:11:24
Got to get behind whoever is appointed.
20.) 09 Oct 2023 14:36:15
Scott Parker and his stripey cardigan can do one, guys a complete walloper.
First it was Eustace then lampard now Parker.
Clement seems to be the vocal minioritys favourite. However if its true he's mulling over other offers then I'd move on.
If its Muscat they want but Muscat won't take job until December then we move on, we have a cup to win before then, and a gap to narrow!
Glasner has never been in the running not the character we need.
Cant see the board sticking with Davis untill Muscat decides to show up.
Therefore its between Clement and Mcinnes.
We have been toyed with the rookie manager avenue again and the board wanted Lampard, but bottled it after fan reaction.
Clements name came from knowhere, never heard his name linked to the club on previous manager searches.
Clement will accept another offer.
Muscat won't come when we want him.
And the board won't appoint another rookie gamble.
So its got to be someone, and I think its obvious who its going to be.
21.) 09 Oct 2023 14:38:57
No you don't Kinghenry, and with the upmost respect, that is bawz!
22.) 09 Oct 2023 14:43:07
If mcinness i will give up 4 corporate seats revert to Govan stand.
23.) 09 Oct 2023 15:09:02
If all else fails, and we are left with a choice between Parker and McInnes, I'd stick with Davis.
24.) 09 Oct 2023 15:15:17
Blue floyd at least Peter Parker is good with sticky situations. Although he would have to spin a Web of lies to get the job.
25.) 09 Oct 2023 15:26:57
I'll get behind whoever they appoint and give them my fair assessment based on the football played
Football played is all that matters can always turn interveiws of if don't like the manager.
26.) 09 Oct 2023 16:21:20
No thanks to Parker, Muscat and McInnes.
27.) 09 Oct 2023 16:45:05
It would be no surprise from the know nothing board if they opted for Lundstram with Dessers and Lammers to assist . McInnes as DOF .
Hoooof it being the first directive .
We may be in deep trouble whatever these chancers decide to do at least one should have resigned over Beale .
28.) 09 Oct 2023 17:05:29
Rather get winter Parker as it’s getting a bit chilly now?.
29.) 09 Oct 2023 17:14:22
McInnes would be a total embarrassment and would show a total lack of ambition on the part of the Board. The guy is a serial loser. What did he win all the time we were not in the top league.
I really don't see it unless they are looking for a really cheap option that won't demand quality players, oh, unless Parks is involved in the short listing process, he has a track record of signing rubbish!
30.) 09 Oct 2023 17:38:56
Wid be better wi Parker fae Thunderburds.
31.) 09 Oct 2023 18:03:05
Parker hope not he even had problem with Fulham wanting more money when they gave him tons to spend no thanks already proved he can't rebuild for me.
32.) 09 Oct 2023 18:56:43
choc, why would one of the board resign over Beale, he was picked byy Robertson, Wilson and Parks and they have all gone. They backed him and gave him support, he failed and they got rid of him quickly . The next manager is their big statement and we will see what happens but by that time you will be watching Caley Thistle managed by ex Rangers failure and management flop Duncan Ferguson but at least he`s a scot that's the main thing.
33.) 09 Oct 2023 20:13:49
Phillipe Clement will be our new manager if he accepts the job and i for one will be delighted if he does ??.
34.) 09 Oct 2023 21:35:04
McInnes start being serious. He is never coming to Ibrox unless he's in visiting dugout. Why write this nonsense?
35.) 10 Oct 2023 05:49:48
Parker back up ooft
I'd take McInnis before I took Parker and that's saying a lot.
36.) 10 Oct 2023 09:45:50
Clement was not is not our number one choice.

06 May 2025 17:35:36
I see Ralph Hassenhutl has been sacked by Wolfsburg. He might be someone worth considering, if the club aren't already far down the line with identifying a new manager.
1.) 06 May 2025 20:49:00
He'd be the pick of the bunch imo mate.
2.) 06 May 2025 21:40:36
No official link to us but Henriksen at Mainz05 has done a great job.
3.) 06 May 2025 23:05:16
Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph linked as well. last one wouldn't want as he has a bit of a boozers nose so must have a drink problem ?.
4.) 08 May 2025 09:22:26
A fairly decent record would be ok with him doubt it will be though.
19 Apr 2025 11:23:14
It will be interesting to see the extent of Yilmaz's injury. I would imagine he's one player that the club may have wanted to cash in for reasonable money. A serious injury may have an impact on that. Either way I wish him and the other injured players a speedy recovery.
1.) 19 Apr 2025 11:48:55
He's a good player, but made of glass. Needs to be sold. Can't keep having players out for months at a time.
2.) 19 Apr 2025 12:45:24
Yilmaz in many ways represents what's wrong with our squad.
He's our second choice left back, earns around 750k a year and isn't always available due to injury.
Which means Jefte has probably played way more football than the club were intending.
You can probably replicate that with Sterling on the other side - although he's earning a good bit more.
I'd much rather we had the likes of Mackenzie and Milligan as back up fullbacks.
Both are free, would cost a fraction of the salary and have proven that they're robust enough to cope with our league.
3.) 19 Apr 2025 13:05:48
100% ehl 100% jason
Yilmaz balogun lawrence cifeuntes dowell davies sterling cortes danilo kasanwirjo matondo
Too many guys that don't contribute enough to the season
Balogun sterling i hate to put in list but we have to be ruthless.
4.) 19 Apr 2025 13:06:36
Ehl we had 3 players who cost the club over 13m not starting or contributing to our biggest match of the season on thursdsy. Danilo 6m bsjrami 3.5m and cortes 3.5m as a club we simply cannot afford that.
5.) 19 Apr 2025 13:16:40
I agree OWS.
We've spent, and continue to spend, serious money on players who don't contribute.
Danilo from your three in particular, as he's never been first choice but gets paid a huge salary.
6.) 19 Apr 2025 13:26:25
Need to get rid of him he is nowhere near as good as some posters think in here and is injured far too much.
7.) 19 Apr 2025 13:27:49
Agree EHL, Yilmaz needs to move on. Nothing against him but Jefte should be the focus with a decent replacement when injured / rested. Can be investing that cash in two players for the one position.
8.) 19 Apr 2025 13:28:05
Barjami cost that much? I don't know but doubt it Cortez now changed to 3.5 use to be 4.5 everyone says Danilo wasn't 6 million either maybe better not to mention figures when we are just making figures up as we don't actually know. Cortez isn't in the squad for Europe so it would have been a miracle for him to start.
9.) 19 Apr 2025 13:35:56
Good post ehl couldn't agree more mate.
10.) 19 Apr 2025 13:48:50
It looked as if it was a hamstring injury and it was strapped up with black tape which suggests it may be the same injury that had him subbed in the first Atletico game and miss the Aberdeen game.
He has a history of this kind of injury and he is one that we should be entertaining offers for in the summer.
11.) 19 Apr 2025 14:11:40
Storm bajrami cost £3.5m.
12.) 19 Apr 2025 14:35:25
The full potential fee for Bajrami is 3.5m - doesn't mean we have paid or will pay that.
Our deals are a lot more sensibly structured.
Same with the Dee for Proper.
13.) 19 Apr 2025 15:21:34
Did his dutch club not report 6million euro not pounds at time of his sale?
12 Apr 2025 16:03:08
While I wait bored for my physio appointment I have been crunching the numbers and there is definitely reason to be optimistic about the return leg against AB next week, because discounting this tie our results have been better away than at home in the EL:
Home: 2 wins / 1 Draw / 2 losses / good 0
Away: 3 wins / 1 draw 1 loss / good +6
That's quite a significantly better GD. I'm sure someone could present AB stats that suggest they should win, but these numbers certainly offer us hope.
1.) 12 Apr 2025 17:10:44
Good post Billy I fancy rangers.
My star 3 up anytime waiting Harry Kane
Treble. Marmoush Watkins Pedro.
18 Mar 2025 15:10:38
East Enclosure,
Any ban would imposed by the SFA and have nothing to do with Police Scotland.
23 Feb 2025 16:13:53
Gents, I'm going to pose a hypothetical here. Assuming the take over goes through, do you think it will be an advantage or disadvantage to us if Leeds get promoted? Or maybe I'm being overly simplistic.
1.) 23 Feb 2025 16:23:25
It won't matter in anyway IMO.
2.) 23 Feb 2025 16:29:14
I would think positive as it shows progression for them and more money. Maybe then concentrate on us.
3.) 23 Feb 2025 16:35:33
I can't see what difference it would make to us. the two teams want to be kept as far apart as possible as it makes it easier to establish we control our own interests to EUFA.
4.) 23 Feb 2025 16:37:36
Think it would be more beneficial to the group if Leeds were to get promoted, and therefore hypothetically better for us.
5.) 23 Feb 2025 16:57:10
I don't why this is hard to grasp. The new owners will want access to the champs league riches. The only way to achieve that is to have domestic success. This can only be a positive.
6.) 23 Feb 2025 17:16:18
They're a massive corporation Gers, they don't "concentrate" on one entity they concentrate on everything they run, which is why they are worth billions.
7.) 23 Feb 2025 18:24:15
It seems they haven't exactly went about buying success at Leeds, it appears they spent less than £40 m on new players but at the same time took in over
£160m on sales .
I don't think King will allow them to tighten the purse strings so stringently at Ibrox.
16 Jun 2025 18:26:21
I can't believe there hasn't been the obligatory joke about him playing on the right wing! Well I suppose this is it!
07 Jun 2025 14:40:51
McCausland could be worth a few quid actually. I hadn't realised how young he is; only just turned 22. So he could be an attractive prospect for other clubs.
04 Jun 2025 21:54:53
The guy obviously has something about him. He worked his way through the leagues as a young manager, and although it went wrong in the EPL, he presumably hasn't lost the skills that got him there in the first place.
I have just watched the interview he did with Gary Linekar and he came across well: intuitive, personable and resilient; all skills that will serve him well at Rangers. It was levelled at Clement that he didn't understand the expectations at Rangers. I don't think the same can be said of Martin.
As I said before, he may be more suited to fighting for championships, than fighting for survival. We need to get behind him.
03 Jun 2025 19:30:14
I'm not overwhelmed by this appointment either if it happens. But it appears to be the result of, at face value, a thorough and diligent recruitment process conducted by switched-on, experienced and successful professionals such as Grettar Steinsson. So I'm going to trust their judgment.
Martin may be more suited to a team fighting for titles, rather than survival.
01 Jun 2025 17:05:52
I see from Wikipedia (I know, i know…) that at the age of 29 he has only played 184 games, and never more than 20 league games a season. I hope that's not because he is injury prone.
