Massive transfer window coming up we need a min of 2-3 good players I think. Also when you look at a lot of these European sides playing in champs/ Europa League they're getting a lot of young players on the cheap and playing them regular and then selling them on for good money. The youth system is about developing our own players and making money by developing players for other teams. In the last few years it got 10m give or take for Patterson and has brought King, Devine and Lowry into the first team squad.
As well as this a number of players have been moved on and we have a sell on fee for them.
Some of these sell on fees are rumoured to be 50%.
This means if any are sold for a million we get 500k and we are not paying any wages out. It's a good model but ultimately we have to develop players and sell them on even if it's for small sums of money it all ads up.

Just look at the other day 3 up and Beale brings on jack with gash in his leg rather than Lowry ? and he left lundstrum and barasic on pitch when they had been booked at first set of subs ? youth have no chance at rangers or under Beale.
But to be clear I really like Beale just not the youth policy.
The clear path to first team is a sham just like letting Lowry think he was going to be regular first squad to get him to sign a new deal.

Gofor I completely disagree. There is no better time to be in our youth set up than now. The pathway to the first team has never been clearer. We currently have 3 who regularly travel with first team. I think Beale is protecting young Lowry as has had a few injuries this season and our first team hasn't been in the best of form. The expectation from the fans on the young lad is massive and could be negative if matches font go his way.

I like hagi as a player i liked his dad too as he was a great player, but if you are a manager having his dad always hanging about in the background with something to say and given half an inch always wanting the mile. You would be reluctant to have him anywhere near the team. Its probably a factor in us not signing lewis Ferguson when he was at Aberdeen. Lewis needed italy to become his own man.
Imagine every training session with barry, derek at their pals coming along like it was a boys club. Then the two of them on the radio explaining what they would do better.
Hagi needs to go somewhere away from his dad. Take a squad number. Getting the seven because of your dad is nepotism that won't always endear you to your team mates. I would have loved him to do well here as i do any player who comes to us. When you have the likes of kent and Alfredo's agent touting him around clubs, we may not like it but that's their job. Hagi snr doing it is overbearing to all around him. He should wind his neck in. What would happen if Danilo, scott Wright or cantwells parents turned up to tell the gaffer and the press how the team should play and how their sons should be played. They would be ridiculed. No matter what hagi snr did as a player it means nothing as this isn't his gig. He is holding the boy back from finding his level snd enjoying football. I am a big fan of Ianis Hagi and bigger fan of Hagi snr, but I agree with most things you said, Livibear. I do not agree with the shirt number. His dad played with #10, and he got 7 at Rangers, 8, 11, or 14 for the national team.
If he has a good Euro 2024, it would make sense for Rangers to cash in on him. If he doesn't - he will either come back or be loaned again. Personally, I prefer him a Rangers player.
