Heard a rumour from a friend on the south coast that Bournmouth are looking to sign James Tavernier in the summer. His brother Marcus already plays there. Tav is 32 later this year and would be his last chance to play in EPL. Personally I could see him going if true.

1.) 11 Apr 2023 12:12:46
Kenny, imo Tav isn't good enough to play in the epl.

2.) 11 Apr 2023 12:57:12
Cherries right back is Adam Smith, and Tav would easily replace him, far better player.

3.) 11 Apr 2023 12:58:32
James tavernier won't leave rangers and will get a testimonial at rangers in a couple of years time ?
I've got absolutely no doubt about this whatsoever!

4.) 11 Apr 2023 13:15:45
If true, I'd be sad to see him go but think we should cash in.

5.) 11 Apr 2023 13:16:06
We sold our second choice right back to the prem but our main one couldn’t get a game lol some laugh.

6.) 11 Apr 2023 13:19:02
That would be justice for his excellent service during difficult times.

7.) 11 Apr 2023 13:21:28
Bournemouth are not safe yet only 3 points in it.

8.) 11 Apr 2023 13:22:51
Kenny mcclean played in epl as did Hanley so to say he's not good enough is harsh.

9.) 11 Apr 2023 13:25:42
Tav not good enough for the prem, you are having a laugh. I love Tav he has proved time and again that he is a great player. 99 and 100th goals v them at the weekend should close any arguments against his quality but folk keep bumping their gums. It's crazy I want to see him make 500 games next.

10.) 11 Apr 2023 13:49:10
Is tav good enough for the EPL? not in my opinion.
You have to ask why nobody has tried to sign him in all the time he has been here.

11.) 11 Apr 2023 13:58:01
'Aribo not good enough for the Prem, you are having a laugh'

12.) 11 Apr 2023 14:00:15
It's the we hate tav club. They hold regular meetings on here.

13.) 11 Apr 2023 14:24:57
I don’t hate Tav do I think he is good enough for epl nope.

14.) 11 Apr 2023 14:26:40
Tavs has done our club proud - if some of our so called wingers/ forwards could strike a ball like Tavs (or even learn to) then we maybe wouldn't be in the mess we are in for goals scored - our forwards are predominantly SHOT SHY!
If a few forwards practiced free kick taking it may take some pressure from JT. He is prob best freekick taker at Ibrox since days of Laudrup and The Hammer and that's saying something.

15.) 11 Apr 2023 14:40:49
Bournemouth not buying any players at Tavs age that's not in their transfer strategy and they may also still get relegated.

16.) 11 Apr 2023 14:42:48
I would be sorry to see Tav go and suspect that he is very happy to stay where he is for a couple more seasons. He is well respected by the Club and by the vast majority of our support and his goals from a full back position are phenomenal. Perhaps we could convince his brother to come play for us. He looks exactly like the quality we need!

17.) 11 Apr 2023 15:21:06
Would live to see Tav pushed up into a more forward position. Offers plenty going forward. Doibt at 32 a EPL club is coming in for him? If so I wish him well.

18.) 11 Apr 2023 15:54:39
Tav not good enough for Bournemouth? Put the glue down mate!

19.) 11 Apr 2023 15:56:32
A lot of folk on here saying Tav isn't good enough for the EPL are the same people saying that the lad Ferguson from Aberdeen wasn't Rangers quality, now there is talk of him moving to Juventus! If he wants to move on then he will go with everyone's best wishes. We will replace him as a right back, but will struggle to replace his goals to be honest.

20.) 11 Apr 2023 16:48:39
Tav plays so good going forward because he is a right back same as Trent. If tav was played in midfield etc he would need to take the ball with his back to goal he’s hardly great at that.

21.) 11 Apr 2023 16:49:49
Would love his bro to come here very good player.

22.) 11 Apr 2023 16:59:02
DTB i wanted Ferguson to sign for us. I don’t believe Tav is good enough for epl if he was someone would have bid for him before now IMO. Tav would get caught left right and centre in epl. Bigger and better players than him have failed down there. Tho apparently to someone on here he is a better defender that Trent ? maybe Liverpool will bid for him.

23.) 11 Apr 2023 17:12:43
U working for Bournemouth I take it gregory.

24.) 11 Apr 2023 17:49:45
Hope he does not go but if he does he goes with my best wishes he’s been great for us and who would not want to double there wages last 3 years of there
Career.

25.) 11 Apr 2023 18:23:38
Jim West Brom tried to sign him when they were in the prem. Does that suit your argument?

26.) 11 Apr 2023 19:09:51
So if a epl team don’t come in for one of our players they ain’t epl level? take it none of our players are that level since none have went to epl recently ? same as Celtic since there recent players to leave went abroad they ain’t epl level lol people use mental gymnastics to try and discredit players it crazy.

27.) 11 Apr 2023 19:10:52
Storm Liverpool don’t use Trent because he’s a good defender. You must no see much English football.

28.) 11 Apr 2023 19:11:21
Why would Liverpool sign a 32 year old.

29.) 11 Apr 2023 19:20:20
I'm definitely not insinuating that tav is better than trent alexander arnold but they both are superb in the attacking full back sense and not so good as defending full backs ?Tav not the best at defending and neither is alexander arnold, of that there's absolutely no doubt!

30.) 11 Apr 2023 19:26:42
Tav going nowhere.

31.) 11 Apr 2023 20:35:28
Orange tinted, no i'm not working for Bournemouth, just know some people in football that i do business with.

32.) 11 Apr 2023 21:00:49
Bournemouth want to sign Tav because his brother plays for them. Yeah right.

33.) 11 Apr 2023 23:56:51
I can’t get my head around people still doubting Tav’s ability… don’t forget he’s performed at European level against some of the best wingers… he could easily play in PL… John Lundstram played PL and a lot of fans don’t think he’s good enough for us. Warburton mentioned before that he knows there’s been interest there. Maybe he hasn’t left because he hasn’t wanted to or maybe Rangers have been reluctant to let our captain and integral team member leave so have rejected any approaches or asked for ridiculous money ?‍♂️… we don’t know! Anyway, the guy is a club legend already and I imagine many people who have slaughtered Tav over the years will be wishing we had him back when he does go/ retire.

34.) 12 Apr 2023 00:40:21
Lol ‘Tavs not good enough for EPL’ - Joe Worrell plays in the EPL.

35.) 12 Apr 2023 01:21:32
Listen the fact is nobody knows if he will be good or not in EPL until he actually plays in EPL anything else is guesswork.

Do I think he would find the prospect of finnishing his career in premier league playing alongside his brother 100%

But it will only happen of we are talking 4-5 million.

36.) 12 Apr 2023 08:48:14
If true Tav should take chance to prove people wrong, good luck to him if it was to happen, as we say not best defensively but always gives his all.

37.) 12 Apr 2023 18:07:41
Tav came from the EPL was on Newcastle's books for years before eventually signing for us for a mere $200,00.
Few Tav stats for the doubters on here, that he isn't good enough for the EPL.

A few seasons back Tav scored more goals than the manky mobs 2 first choice strikers combined FACT.

In 2020 he was crowned the top goal scoring defender in not just the SPFL but the entire WORLD finishing above Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid FACT.

During our miracle run to the Europa league final 20220 - 2021
Tav was the no 1 goalscorer in the whole competition for the entire competition on 7 goals INSANE considering the other players trailing him were mostly forwards.
Considering who the players finishing after him are .
Ekambi - Lyon, Galeno - Braga, Kamada - Frankfurt, Daka - Leicester, Horta - Braga FACT.

But yeah he ain't good enough for the EPL maybe we should just release him on a free from rangers, so he can go play in the championship.

Although i don't have the exact numbers / records for all time Goal scoring RB in the SPFL, I can safely say no defender has scored more goals for any team in the Scottish league since Tav signed for us, I wouldn't be surprised if he is the all time top scoring RB in our league bar no one.

I never wanted Beale in the first place but can we afford to sack him!

A new manager would want his own players and who is going to buy the dross we have signed! The players themselves won't want to move as they are probably on the biggest contracts they are ever likely to get. Matondo for example is on 28K per week! allegedly.

The only positive signing IMO is Butland and I have been heard he has a stupidly low release clause, which is the only way he was going to sign with us (supposedly)

I really don't know where we go from here, I really think we could take years to recover from signing this pile of dross!

Also Going to lose Barasic and Lundstrom for nothing at the end of the season - how badly is our club run, and you look across the city and they are signing up all their big guys on long term contracts.

Im really running out of patience and excuses for them, club is rotten from top to bottom!

KennyMcCormick

1.) 01 Oct 2023 16:05:03
We can’t afford not to sack him.

2.) 01 Oct 2023 16:54:38
I think cantwell and raskin were good signings . they were beals no? Or a
I wrong again.

3.) 01 Oct 2023 16:55:41
I believe we will see different performance levels with some good coaching and a clear tactical plan being put into action.
I think Michael Beale confused himself and his players.
The thing that frustrated me most is the way we would pass the ball around between defensive midfielders and centre half’s while the opposition watched and laughed, against the low block it was just silly.

4.) 01 Oct 2023 17:08:17
The problems at Rangers run deep. Sacking the manager and replacing him mid season won’t work. It didn’t work when we sacked Warburton, Pedro, GVB, and even after Gerrard left we went downhill blowing a 6 point advantage over Celtic.

Sacking the manager causes instability that will no doubt result in more dropped points and the end of our season anyway. Then we need to sack whoever replaced Beale because he didn’t win the league either.

We’ve been here before. It's a circus.

5.) 01 Oct 2023 17:28:46
MolsgOaks we had already I’d raskin when Gio was here.

6.) 01 Oct 2023 17:55:44
Raskin is overrated.

7.) 01 Oct 2023 19:03:58
Didn’t think so John

"The 21-year-old Belgian under-21 international becomes Michael Beale’s second signing as the Rangers manager further strengthens the Gers squad".

8.) 01 Oct 2023 19:51:18
Molsgoals, my post says we had already identified raskin under Gio.

01 May 2023 14:45:21
What is everyones thoughts on Tillman? should we sign him on a permanent or not?

I would imagine the £5M odd transfer fee would be a big chunk of our transfer budget for next season.

For me i think its too much for the boy as other areas need strengthening!

Interested to hear opinions.

KennyMcCormick

1.) 01 May 2023 14:48:58
Signed 100% for me.

2.) 01 May 2023 14:50:56
Kenny do we know for definite it's as much as 5m? I'm like you but if hrs nearer 3/ 4m and depends the structure of the deal.

3.) 01 May 2023 14:55:44
Not for me! If MB is wanting to bring in 12 new players, I can't see us blowing 5m on the boy. That's if the 5m figure is right?!

4.) 01 May 2023 14:58:23
Sign 100% for me. His numbers this season are promising and thought he was doing well yesterday before the injury, stopped them getting the ball through mcgregor and won the ball back in good areas 2/ 3 times.

Only going to get better and given we are already complaining about standard of player we are linked to it's a pretty safe bet.

5.) 01 May 2023 15:00:04
Wouldn’t sign him. The millions could be better spent for sure . We need the real deal .

6.) 01 May 2023 15:02:47
No from me not do e enough for me when it mattered money could be better spent elsewhere.

7.) 01 May 2023 15:08:32
He has failed to turn up in games against Aberdeen and Celtic, he has been injured last season, this season already and now injured again. It is reported that the fee is in the region of 5 million which is a large amount of our budget. These are the reason I don't think we should sign him.

8.) 01 May 2023 15:22:03
Must add Tillman has been more inconsistent then consistent.

9.) 01 May 2023 15:26:14
100% sign him - guaranteed he will develop and we will profit.

10.) 01 May 2023 15:30:05
If we were to sell him we'd get much more than £5m. No brainer.

11.) 01 May 2023 15:31:07
We need to spend a big chunk of our budget, on a class striker for me.

12.) 01 May 2023 15:39:51
Not for me.

13.) 01 May 2023 15:41:34
No not for me the money involved is too much for a player who doesn’t seem to turn up in big games . Other issue is if he want to come to rangers permanently . not sure he does. Good skill but is drive and heart really there .

14.) 01 May 2023 15:41:52
No one knows on here or media how much he will
Cost for a start. We were also told the money was ring fenced for it in December so shouldn’t be part of transfer money this summer. I reckon it will be between 1.5-3 million max.

15.) 01 May 2023 15:44:05
Not for me, good technician but not what we need at this point in time.
Not sure the boy has the temperament when the pressure is on, would rather watch him develop at another club.

16.) 01 May 2023 16:07:49
Not for me this boy is class definitely has an abundance of it but we need battlers right now not ballers plus he'll never get any protection from referees here in Scotland for me would be a waste of £5m.

17.) 01 May 2023 16:12:44
If we brought through Tillman we'd want big money for him so 5 mil is a steal.

18.) 01 May 2023 16:16:16
Rather him than some a the names getting mentioned on here.

19.) 01 May 2023 16:37:47
Money need wisely spent in other areas of pitch once we lose the mercenaries who have dragged this team down for several years now. The boy is a good player but where our team is at moment its a no from me. Money needs to go in more experienced players at end of contracts or in last year that can enhance various areas of our team as 5 mill is a hellava lot considering where we are in our potential transition.

20.) 01 May 2023 16:38:01
Who are these better players that we can spend the £5m on? No one seems to be able to list anyone. Also we know what tillman is capable of but bringing in someone else doesn't guarantee they will fair much better.

21.) 01 May 2023 16:42:34
I would sign Tilman. We need to be signing quality and this Boy has the ability to develop into a top player. A lot of course depends on the other players that we sign to play alongside him and whether we have to do a deal with Bayern that they can buy him back. We need to be signing players that can work together for the next four or five years. No point in buying him if he is going to be punted back to Bayern or sold to anyone else in the short term for that matter.

22.) 01 May 2023 16:49:17
A definite no from me, he doesn't show enough in big games for me. I don't see a player in him at all.

23.) 01 May 2023 18:17:00
Would keep him if we could for another year for a smallish fee or another loan to see if he can adapt better to the pace of big games, no doubt he can do good things.
But at this stage no to paying 5 million if that’s the fee.

24.) 01 May 2023 18:25:21
Not for me I'm afraid. Beale said yesterday that this rebuild will be the biggest seen in years and I just don't think we have the budget for Tillman. We have bigger priorities than Tillman.

25.) 01 May 2023 20:33:41
Leave it to Beale. He knows what he is looking for and who will develop. I think we'll sign him, but who knows.

01 May 2023 11:05:27
Ok, yesterday was disappointing but expected! Biggest problem I have though are the names being banded about for transfers in. If we are shopping for freebies from mid table championship teams and players who have played less than a dozen games in the last 3-4 seasons (Butland) we might as well throw in the towel now!

We need quality in vital positions to overhaul Celtic - not just to compete! We need a GK, Centre half, creative midfielder, 2 wide players and 2 strikers and frankly i don't know if I trust Beale to oversee a total rebuild as i'm totally underwhelmed by the names being linked with us. Does this point to the fact we just don't have the finance to bring in the quality required?

Lastly I never thought i'd see the day our trophy haul would be overtaken but come June 3rd they will be only 1 behind and the way things are going will overtake us next season, that would just be depressing!

KennyMcCormick

1.) 01 May 2023 12:12:20
Kenny we will be very fortunate to get Jack butland. One player I'm happy that we won't be getting is Mcburnie as Sheffield utd are going to take up his one year extension clause. If you think that given the size of the rebuild required we can spend big on 8 players or so then I believe you should think again. Its just not going to happen and there are some very good out of contract players. And remember they are not free, they will get a signing on fee.

2.) 01 May 2023 12:14:40
There are good players available on Bosmans, certainly enough quality to help us regain our title. Problem is that you need an ambitious Board that is willing to push the boat out to get those players and right now I don't see that happening.

3.) 01 May 2023 13:06:19
Kenny, you're getting annoyed about players we're being linked with by a gutter MSM who have no clue who we're looking at. let's judge the quality of player once they're signed.

4.) 01 May 2023 13:19:56
People are underwhelmed by the names we are linked with currently but they should get used to that as that’s they way we will recruit this summer.

We don’t have the money to go out and buy recognised names, especially given the volume of players We need. It isn’t exactly a proven way of recruiting my either in recent times. Anyone who’s a ‘name’ that we sign, you are only getting them up in Scotland because they are on the decline or have issues. Hence why we have needed up with so many injury prone players on ridiculous money. Ramsay, Roofe etc. from our best players in recent years. Hardly anyone knew anything about them prior to arriving.

We need to trust Michael Beale’s eye for a player and get some hungry players in who can showcase themselves and earn themselves and the club a move for good money.

Get behind the new players and judge them on performances, don’t judge them on the fact you know little about them.

5.) 01 May 2023 13:21:15
Two points, first you shouldn`t get depressed by players being linked, there will be over 50 by the time the window shuts and most of them will be nonsense . Beale has already shot down the links to the QPR players . Secondly, Bosmans aren`t the same necessarily as players being freed by their clubs because they aren`t any good, some of them are free because they run their contracts down. I`m sure if we could afford Tielemans and Zaha we would take them, they are Bosmans. let's wait and see who actually signs then criticise if they are uninspiring .

6.) 01 May 2023 14:30:30
I'm sorry, I like Zaha but to think he would fare well against the cloggers in the spl is funny, he doesn't react well to a hard challenge at palace, hod knows what he would be like here.

7.) 01 May 2023 18:29:49
Chuba Akpom at Middlesborough, and Diaz at Blackburn would be decent acquisitions, not that we are likely to sign either. We have been linked with Tom Davies and for me he would be an excellent acquisition.

24 Nov 2022 16:15:08
Am I the only one who is less than convinced by Beale?
The narrative is that he was the brains behind Gerrard, where has this come from? Where is the evidence to support this? Or was it just a fake story to spite SG?
Hes not exactly setting the championship alight, 9 wins in 21 games, will he be able to attract the players we need because its going to be a huge rebuild!
Obviously if he is named we would all get right behind him.

KennyMcCormick

1.) 24 Nov 2022 16:23:46
To be fair on Beale before him and gerrard game in our team was rotten worse than the now they managed to get us competing and stopped the Celtic crappy 10 shout and finished 25 points clear of them I think Beale will do fine the problem is will the board back in.

2.) 24 Nov 2022 19:02:54
Nope 72% on here agree with you.

06 Nov 2022 18:27:39
The League is now gone. To think otherwise is just wishful thinking! You see how that Celtic team handles adversity compared to our cowards! but I am more concerned with the next few months. Alarm bells have to be ringing:

Morelos and Kent are a waste of 2 jerseys, I believe both will go in Jan for what we can get - and that won't be much. Need to get what we can for Kamara as well, which again, won't be much, how can you ask top dollar for a player that can't get in that team!

Mcgregor and Davies will surely retire.

Helander and Jack are permanantly injured and can't be offered new contracts. Roofe and Soutar permananantly injured as well! Arfield is done, Sands and Tillman are only on loan and I wouldn't be rushing to sign either of them.

What we are left with is a bunch of late 20s/ early 30s players with no sale value and are part of the problem.

We are about to be hit with a perfect storm, some may say its a blank canvas but will take millions we do not have.

And does anyone think we will actually sack GVB - reported compo£7M!

I am sure people will come on and say there must be money available, but where are our accounts! if all was rosy they would have been published by now!

Rant Over!
