Still so disappointed we drew that game today but we would of probably lost it last year, the thing that concerns me is the lack of depth in squad if we were to lose 1 of the Cb are a striker we would be in trouble, I think we missed Coulibaly today's we haven't really got any1 in that mould to replace him, I still think we should of kept Docherty as we will need a big squad if we qualify for group stages, no coincidence Burnley Celtic and ourselves struggled today after games on Thursday night.

Tbh had they scored the 3rd earlier we probably would have lost it. Only 1 team in it the second half and despite what Gerrard had said about being ready for them we couldn’t cope with their style of play.

Why when we have been defensively solid with a back 4 do we change to a back 3? That was madness for me it made our Centre Backs who have been great in a 4 look absolutely awful today.

Struth, that will be our formation going backwards you mean. We went from never being behind in a game (against some good opposition) to getting ran ragged by a very poor motherwell. Something was wrong yesterday and if it was not the formation then what was it? They had double the amount of corners than we had and 22 shots at our goal.

3;5;2 would work with 3 proper centre backs. flanagan is not a centre back. if we had somebody like mcauley or a recognised centre back it would have worked. we were playing wwe wrestlers yesterday it wasnt football on the floor was it. i'd only play this system away from home against teams like motherwell if we had to. qualifying for europa league will be an achievement, our squad is thin no murphy, rossiter, dorrans, couliby. we need more bodies if we get injuries in this long season were in trouble. london jock.

Really gutted we lost, in the second half Motherwell wanted it more and deserved the draw. A corner less than 2 meters from the line should only be 1 persons ball, and as much as I rate Mcgregor, and that's the goalie.

There was only 1 man to blame, that's the guy who never goes with his man, we all know who he is. McGregor never been good with crosses and it is difficult to manoeuvre in the packed area so the outfielders must defend the area.

Mixed emotions today it was great we came back twice but
to change the formation against a team who play like a cup final team was maybe a bit naive but at the same time the manager wanted to play laferty and morelos who both played well but having played 11 games unbeaten still got be pleased with the progress Stevie g knows he will make mistakes but he's wisr enough to realise them and make us a better team.

The tactics from Gerrard in the second half were all wrong. He made some odd decision and putting Wallace on in the last few seconds made no sense. If I was a player I would want that ball player in straight away while you are still in the euphoria of the moment concentrating on defending the goal.
I hate to say it but I knew watching against Aberdeen we would concede with the last kick and I think everyone knew it was going to happen against Motherwell. Gerrard will have to regroup the troops and figure out how to beat guard against last minute complacency.

You can't blame one person for their goal. It was a team thing. That goal was coming for the whole of the 2nd half we lost the midfield battle and then they threw on some big boys up front and went very direct. IMO we had wallace waiting to come on the ball went out for a throw the game should have been stopped to allow wallace on at that point but motherwell took a quick throw the ref let the game run then the corner came and the manager had to make a decision.
If wallace clears the ball to safety or we clear the danger everyone applauds a tactical masterstroke - "he brought on another defender and we saw out the game he's the next mourinho" ball goes in the net he should never have subbed a player on for that corner bad management. Remember the amount of games the team have played already this year. Players with minor knocks and cramp.
It catches up with them. We didn't lose and played a tough physical side. No more injuries, no red cards, lafferty scored 2. Loads of positives to take from the game. Think about that motherwell team playing the tic with their defence lol.

Gutted we cannot get three points against so called lower teams. I think it will take time for that system to work regarding three at back with wingbacks but I do agree with it. Only one point adrift of them. Watching the game today I thought as it went on we didn't look as sharp as we have been and it was also apparent on Thursday night with game little flat but all in all I'm pleased with our progression and thought ejaria, lafferty and Barisic did great today. Still not lost a game. 👍.

Second half was a very tired looking performance and looks as if constantly plsying Thurs sun Thurs is catching up already. We're definately a bit thin on numbers and today is my first criticism of the boss but I've no idea why he changed the system went from being rock solid to our defence not having a clue what was happening.

Disagree about Jack today Coops, he looks terrific along side Coulibaly but not without, he had to step up and dominate the MF today and didn’t, when Coulibaly is fit I’m sure he will be effective again but he was overrun today and had little help from Halliday, don’t think that pair work in the deep lying MF roles. Lafferty was tremendous though and caused Motherwell all sorts of problems with his height and ability to go long to him, lots to ponder for the Gaffer but not the end of the world today, if we had got a last minute equaliser I’d say we robbed it.

Thought it was a good game and youve got to give both teams credit for the effort put in. can't be too hard on rangers as we are a work in progress and will only get better under stevie g. Very unlucky not to win that today. Great fighting spirit from the team and just lacked that wee bit of quality. Fingers crossed the lads pull it off on thursday night and can get us in to the group stages.

I hope the games coming thick and fast don’t prove our undoing. Last two matches we have not played to the standards set before. I don’t think the opponents are improving as the croation team and Maribor were far superior than UFC and m’well. Team rotation is all well and good and tactical changes if all players can naturally fit in and adapt.

Hondaintegra, a good game? It was Scottish blood and snotters where the main casualty was the ball. We fell right into their trap and didn't play the proper football that Gerrard has been developing and encouraging. I'm sure he'll revert to what has been working and will not make the same mistakes again. It was a tired performance not helped by players trying to adapt to a different system, but it will, in the end, show the calibre of the manager when he promptly fixes it, unlike the four before him who couldn't change their socks, never mind tactics.

The substitutions made by both managers determined the result. Motherwell brought on big hard as nails players capable of an aerial battle and battered our defence. We took off our best defender, took off Halliday who had been playing relatively well and put on Arfield who was a mile of the pace. We need more quality players, simple as that. A centre back and a winger that can also play through the middle is the minimum we need. Right now we are a very small squad and irrespective of whether we qualify for the Group stages we still need more quality.

Make no mistake, that was a decent Motherwell team and by far and away bigger and stronger than most teams we will play. They were up for it big time.
Rangers were a bit under par but still got a draw despite being behind twice. Not the best performance by a long way but you can't be at your best in every game. Goldson and a couple of others struggled but will put it behind them and crack on. A harsh and annoying way to lose points but forget it and move on.
Not all doom and gloom and still undefeated. Two BIG games up next.

We didn't play at all well today and a point was probably all we deserved however the opening fixtures leave a bad taste compared to celtics soft option. Ie away to the sheep away to the motherwell hackers and away to the manky mob in first 4 league games. Come on sporting integrity!

Two minor points. I thought the delay putting Wallace on didn't help us setting up to properly defend the corner, rather we lost concentration.
Secondly I think we need to establish what is our first eleven and the games in which, barring injury and suspension, they must play. Our squad, in my opinion, is too tight to allow for simple numerical rotation. I think SG knows that and will add if quality is available this week and in January.
Our first eleven choices are capable of a positive result at Porkheid.

After analysing the game today I have to say 3 hours on in delighted that happened today.
We have been doing brilliant, well ahead of schedule in my opinion. We've had a though run of games and on top of that the next 2 games are massive so its only going to get harder.
The players needed a tough culture shock and it happened today. As good and slick as we are going forward i think we showed today a slight immaturity in terms of seeing the game out.
We've seen games out in Europe well but SPFL teams we all know are a different animal.
Wrong substitutions at the wrong time never helped either.
All in all in glad it happened today and not next week.
A tough learning curve but one in sure we can learn and move on from. We will definitely be stronger for it in the future.
We are certainly moving in the right direction and with coulibaly to come back as well as a few others I think we're looking good.
Let's rise up and March on with the chests puffed out going into Thursday and Sunday.

Completely agree. I will say though that I’m glad Stevie G has the balls to change up the formation and keep teams guessing after the past few managers who would stick with the same formation and tactics come hell or high water. You’re right, it doesn’t matter what position Tav was playing, he let's his man get away from his far too easily but it makes me ask the question, why is he the one marking their biggest threats on set pieces?
Tactics wise, we should’ve been pressing them higher up the pitch in the second half. They were throwing on aerial threats with every sub and we played into their hands. Their front line had zero pace so if we pushed up we could’ve dealt with them easily.
Look at the positives, we’re a new young team that is undefeated and still gelling. Keep the faith.

Right first thing first Stevie G got it badly wrong today. What possessed him to change our system that was working so well? This time yesterday everything at Ibrox was rosey now I see a manager that got things so badly wrong that he did not know how to correct it. We were a shambles just kicking the ball anywhere and defending the 6 yard box. i'm ready for the backlash from this post but if we play that system next week we will be destroyed so why did we play it today? Good players looked crap today and others made the same mistakes as they have been making for the last couple of years. Am I wrong?

100% right mate Gerrard got it badly wrong why change the system when it’s been working well so far. Playing Halliday instead of arfield is a big no and should never happen again. Also making a sub when a corner kick is about to be taken was a bad move as well. Disappointing today but hopefully we will learn from that.

I tend to think the system was working well enough in the first half. Its the first major blip under steven gerrard and blips without question are you going to happen,
throughout the season. It happens to the best of them. The positives of steven gerrard's appointment, as our manager and the difference in a short space of time, are the things i'm focusing on and there has been many positives. We will challenge under gerrard, i'm quite sure of that!

We drew a game due to a 93 min equaliser from home team away . What's the problem. So what big goldson made one mistake in 11 games . Tav does makes too many mistakes defensively but his positives out way that over a season. We know we are better than today but what a schedule we have had so mistakes are bound to happy one day. A good ball into the middle and I would expect one of our 3 center halves to pick it up instead it was an unopposed header, when Goldson fell he had no cover, why? The third goal was just a culmination of a series of hopeful balls into the middle that caused panic where one was bound to end up in the net.

I think people are reading too much into it. Plenty of fight in the team and no little skill. Much as I like McGregor as a keeper I think their third goal is his ball every day of the week. A slip for the first goal and defenders posted missing at the second. By all accounts the dark side were chronic today. I think Motherwell would have beaten them. Not as bad as people are making out. We made chances but tired a bit at the end. I'm not going to start worrying until there is something to worry about.

Unless that sub was Tav who lost his man again deecee. Frustrating day but I can accept that result today as we were 2nd best. Tav, for all his defensive frailties is still one of our better players but we need to find a way to see these games out without surrendering all possession, with hindsight Morelos should probably have been hooked for Middleton instead of Barasic as he was being provided with little supply anyway and will have a tough shift on Thursday.

i didn’t think we were that bad today but when tide turned and we lost midfield and momentum taking off halliday and barasic i’d have brought mcrorie on to help shore things up and defend set pieces better
not a young winger when we’ll were clearly launching it last 10 - team battled hard today but i think gerrard subs were wrong.

Middleton never got the ball because we defended far too deep and invited them into us. He spent more time defending than doing what he is best at. Defence should have had us further up the park to enable our midfield to be closer to our attack.
Bit disappointed that we invited a strong physical team to come and attack us. If we apply the same tactics on Thursday then I doubt we’ll be in the draw on Friday.
Hopefully they watch the game again and learn from that.
I think we have been a victim of our own success with regards the fans chastising the team and forgetting how short a time the guys have been together.

We have played Aberdeen and Motherwell away and but for refs and 94th minute goals would have won. celtic have had home games v Livingston and Hamilton and lost their away game. 1-0 against Hamilton is hardly top drawer. SG will learn from today. Two draws this week and we'll be in group stages and only a point between us and them!

Sangil - the fact you think it feels like a defeat shows you how far we have come though. Having went behind twice in the first half at a tough away fixture but being dissapointed with a point is a sign that things are on the right track. So Yeh, it's frustrating and feels like 2 points dropped but that is the first time this season we have even went behind in a game (with Tav playing right back in virtually every one) - and have been playing thursday/ Sunday every week. We are a game away from Europe proper as well, above and beyond where anyone sensible thought we would be after last couple. of seasons.
When's the last time we went to east end with even a hint of expectation?

Good to take positives and negatives from today.
Lafferty was excellent and looks to give us a whole new dimension.
Tavernier struggles to defend and hopefully the manager can see he's better suited to a right mid/ winger type role rather than a right back.
Those are the two main ones, we weren't at our best today but we were also unlucky, learn from it, move forward, hopefully we unite as a team more.
And never ever ever make a sub at at 94th min defending corner!

I feel your disappointment yately 1,
as i feel exactly the same way. Having said that and had time to think about everything, on the way home from fir park, i still think our rebuilding under gerrard is still very much in its infancy! IMO we will be good under gerrard and will challenge the eastend mob. I'm very confident on that. Its a blip, of course it is, but we take it on the chin, annalise it and move on!

Let’s not be too disappointed but big lesson today is that Godson and Katic are not as great a central defensive unit as some of us have been claiming. Godson in particular looked uncomfortable against their big forwards. Long way to go and sure SG will put right this week.

The centre half’s have been excellent for 11 games have 1 bad game then people saying there not as good as we thought they were get a grip we didn’t play well today as a team 2nd half we were shocking Motherwell had a full week to prepare for that game we had 2 days after a tough european game.

The thing is, they were playing like it was UFC multiplayer, they do it all the time, some of their challenges and antics should have got them more bookings and possibly then a sending off. If they are dealt with properly at the time then they wouldn't be able to do it through a whole game, but we weren't good enough today. A slip from Goldson could happen to anyone, 2nd goal nobody picked him up and the 3rd goal was coming from the 70th minute as we defended far too deep didn't understand the subs, really he should have had a word and told the players to slow it down keep the ball and frustrate them, instead we lumped it forward lost the ball and it just kept coming back to us, it's a bad day when a teams only attribute is aggression and they get plaudits for it but we have to be wiser and deal with that better as these results will come more regular unless we can rise above that and prove we can deal with these types of teams.

As gutted as we are after the dropping of 2 points today, let's remember the questionable opening schedule we've got - 3 tough away games in tbe first 4 games whereas the mob across the city have narrowly won today v Hamilton, won v Livingston and lost their only away game so far. Motherwell will do what they did to us to other teams at Fir Park this season and take points off them but the 3 at the back does worry me. Hopefully back to 4 at the back next week.

We are giving the ball away too cheaply and need more strength, composure in midfield badly missed Coulibaly today. But we need to give Stevie G time to build a Squad so we can cope with playing on all fronts.

Although not the result we wanted, we did see the team come back from being behind twice and short of a fluke goal and two lapses of concentration we would have won.
Even though team were under performed based on previous games.
Still unbeaten, A few lessons learnt by all.

Even leading up to the last corner he was far too far over and their winger had acres of space to put a ball in. First time I've felt nervy watching the team defend. Goldsons early slip seemed to rattle him.

I think we're all entitled to feel disappointed and criticism is part and parcel of the deal of being a fan. Hartley shoved it in our faces with a last kick of the ball goal and who wouldn't be angry? Defending deeply against a team on far less than 10% of our budget and conceding victory is hard to defend with comments of we're learning, it had to happen and we're a work in progress. Tactics and selection were wrong. Should have gone all out attack in the 2nd half and finished them off.

No he was a wing back there's a big difference. His priority should still have been defending. think the op means let him off the leash knowing Flanagan is behind him as he can't defend but he still does offer so much in terms of his energy and especially delivery from wide areas.

Positive today that we can be off our game, yet come from behind twice and still score 3. What a left peg Barisic has. Don't think the change in formation played to big a part, we actually were more under pressure when barisic went off and went to 4 at the back and defended to deep.
Negatives, terrible marking at set pieces and we let Motherwell drag us into a scrap - it needed someone to get on the ball and slow it down.
All in all, gutted about conceding an equaliser with last kick of the ball but this time last year we are losing that game. that's 11 competitive games unbeaten and sometimes things just don't fall your way. We learn from it and kick on!

We were poor today, very poor Infact but i have no idea why gerrard made that sub before a set piece which was the last kick of the ball. Baffling decision.

Today will be a massive lesson to our boys.
There is NO team in Scotland that everyone loves to beat more than us. Now with SG at the helm the rest have another incentive to get one over us.
The boys will start to realise that pressure SG has always spoke of. They will need to learn fast.
To lose a late goal again is hard to take. But we need to give the boys time. SG's comments about not being bullied again may have been naive. He is also learning.
I honestly think this result will stand us in great stead for the enemy next week. This result will sharpen the mind.
Still unbeaten, still massively ahead of where we should be.
Be positive, be proud.

we need coulibaly back in the middle quickly, I hope he abandons this back three idea, McGregor looked shaky behind it all day, and it looked like last seasons defence there at times. Tav looked like he didn't know where to be on the park and was never in it. disappointed that we only got a draw, but still undefeated under gerrard. He will sort it this week I am sure, maybe he's right with his comment that we have progressed quicker than he thought we would. Must be doing something right when that person Sutton is praising us!

Ref was shocking again 90% of 50/ 50 decisions went against us but no excuses poor poor show. But a point from playing so bad is a bonus.
Another concern is the amount of goals that we are conceding in last 5 min better game management needed.

Defencivley poorer today than other matches but with them having half a team of WWE wrestlers it was always going to be tough. Poor performance today lads, created nothing in the second half, defended too deep and got exactly what we deserved. Don't get me wrong they made it a physical messy game but we allowed them too much pressure in the second half it was important to win today as it is in every game but before an old firm game you can't be giving away points like that, hopefully that's goldons poor game out the way and he plays a blinder next week.

That was an absolute shambles of a 45 minutes. The space down their left every time they went forward was embarrassing. Tav cost us that today, constantly out of position. Goldson didn't help him either, some of his decision making was questionable. Never looked in control at all the 2nd half and fully deserved to concede the equaliser. Although if that fat pr*** Hartley is under investigation should he even be allowed to play.

Not good enough today. We didn't look up for it from the first minute which is worrying. This was Motherwell, who've been pumped off Hibs and Hamilton and yet we make them look like a good team and in all honesty should have won comfortably. We defended far too deep, sat off them and invited trouble. Goldson = shocker, Tav = shocker. MCcGregor = looked uncomfortable because he didn't have confidence with the defence. Very very disappointed. Big concerns going into next week. Could be 4 points behind after next week. I know we might not be but defend like that and we will. Huge week for Gerard to get that performance out the players heads.
