Thought I'd share a rumour I heard tonight. Apparently the 5 players that left today AND TAV have all been presented with plaques of how many games/ goals/ assists etc they have managed in their time at rangers.
He seems to think its a cert that Tav is off.
Ps in all the year roofe has been here apparently its only like 50 appearances.
1.) 02 Jun 2024 06:33:03
From what I remember he has made about 90 appearances for us.
2.) 02 Jun 2024 06:38:21
Does Tav's include the ones at the other end of the pitch ??.
3.) 02 Jun 2024 07:41:26
A quick Google will tell you he played 102 times for us.
4.) 02 Jun 2024 09:57:40
Some folk on here don't have internet or Google.
5.) 02 Jun 2024 10:16:27
Well how do they read the posts if they don't have Google or internet?
6.) 02 Jun 2024 10:25:46
56 :)
7.) 02 Jun 2024 11:08:02
Kemar roof3 started 33 games in the league since he signed playing in 63 matches scoring 26 goals. El 22 matches 5 goals league Cup 8 matches 4 goals scottish Cup 9 matches 3 goals. Goals to games started good but overall a massive let down mainly due to injuries.
8.) 02 Jun 2024 11:31:24
I know Jet its a total mystery.
20 Nov 2023 18:01:52
Apparently McCausland signing a 3yr deal.
1.) 20 Nov 2023 20:23:35
Fingers crossed or he be off in the summer for £300,000 development fee.
2.) 20 Nov 2023 21:11:12
Hope he does and then get, Lowry, Ishaka, Rice and King so that we start to build a much better route from academy to 1st team and then for sale in the mould of Ajax etc.
3.) 20 Nov 2023 21:14:02
Still an issue with first team appearances.
4.) 20 Nov 2023 21:17:30
Aye great. I see Brentford are sniffing about to get him on a deal.
5.) 20 Nov 2023 21:27:25
Did rice not sign a longer term deal over a month ago? I’m sure he did.
Think king also signed one last year.
Agree though get them all tied down and blood them in.
6.) 20 Nov 2023 22:04:58
I genuinely don’t see us bringing a winger in come Jan.
If we play 4241
The wide positions are going to be cantwell (Mcausland)
On right and sima (Matondo) on left.
Still have Scott wright as an option, Lawrence can play on left and Infact might even be ahead of Matondo, dowell can play on the right aswell.
Both them are more central minded players though.
So are we really going to bring in another winger for sake of 6 months?
Who do we move on?
We need to move on dowell and wright in summer.
Sign replacement for sima.
See how cantwell does on the right but that’s where clement wants him for now.
In terms of striker if we can’t move dessers on in January I don’t see us signing anyone either, Roofe won’t leave til summer so we don’t have a lot of space or free wages.
It’s difficult to see where new signings fit in without moving a good few out.
7.) 20 Nov 2023 23:09:01
If full teams fit then we have a decent side
Lawrence is brilliant when fully fit
Wright has looked a diff player under Clement albeit a few games
There's a player in matonda imo but again he needs to be fit and get a run of games
Rice wil b amazing
Mcausland if he keeps getting games will only get better
Lowry I think will turn out good
Lovelace will be a great player also
This is only my opinion but can definitely build the team around some good players.
8.) 20 Nov 2023 23:36:33
I’m really excited about rice, I think he could be a smashing player, maybe the best we’ve produced since Barry.
I hate to compare them because of his name but it’s not because of that, I think he could be really similar to Declan rice. The fact he’s left footed would bring great balance to mf.
I’d hope to see him break into the first team properly next season, he’ll be 18 this time next year and that’s when I think he will burst onto the scene properly.
Clement loves playing youth.
He brought through tchoumeni at Monaco at a similar age and look at him now.
The world is Bailey rice’ oyster if he applies himself under this manager.
He had.
9.) 21 Nov 2023 03:47:26
If Mcausland want guaranteed game time the it’s time to say by no player at rangers should get guaranteed game time I’m sure that’s why SG got rid of windass as he sayed all players need to fight for there position in the starting 11 each week the way it should be.
10.) 21 Nov 2023 06:33:13
A loan to buy might make sense for sima replacement would be good to get his position sorted before start of following season.
Very little chance sima staying.
11.) 21 Nov 2023 06:43:05
I'm sure his game time demands are pretty small he's not stupid there's something wrong if we can't give promising young players some promises regarding playing time.
It could be he can walk for a certaiñ fee if game time not met it's better to keep him and try play him than not
Gilmour?
Perfect example these players could save us a fortune and make us a fortune after a few years just by giving them a proper chance like we would anyone else.
12.) 21 Nov 2023 06:43:29
Our attitude to young players needs changed.
13.) 21 Nov 2023 08:55:26
Rice extended to May 26. Stevie.
14.) 21 Nov 2023 08:56:57
Gofor Gilmour left the second he could, on 16 birthday.
How could he get game time.
15.) 21 Nov 2023 10:07:14
Gilmour camera from a good solid family and I think he took their advice to go down south and secure his financial future rather than rot away in rangers youth teams and poss be released.
Was he not gave some crazy wage like 10k a week?
Fair play to the lad, not many could/ would knock that back.
16.) 21 Nov 2023 10:17:19
Stevie can u tell us how he was to rot in rangers youth teams. He consistently played for the academy.
17.) 21 Nov 2023 11:22:35
John, Rangers haven’t a great record with young players at the moment, Patterson, but who else has been given a chance really? Maybe what we have just aren’t good enough?
18.) 21 Nov 2023 11:29:52
Because every other player before or after him never got the chance, we’ve had plenty of players who have been highly thought of who just weren’t given the chance. with the exception of who? Barry and Alan Hutton?
Something we have all agreed is youth just isn’t given the chance at rangers, so does he go down south and mix it up with the very best youngsters around and collect a handsome wage for his troubles it does he take the chance of being left in the youths and fading into obscurity like so many more before him, and since.
Easy decision for the lad, as I said he’s from a good family and they advised him well imo, look at him now.
From someone who watches the youths John I’d think u would be one of the first to agree that our youth players aren’t given a chance in the first team.
Certainly not upto this stage.
Even Patterson was forced by tavs injury or he likely would be another Devine, someone u have personally said is more highly thought of than Patterson was.
Look at him.
19.) 21 Nov 2023 12:10:58
Really rate the lad Devine, but rarely gets a chance. Be great to see him, Rice, King and Mccausland break through into the first team soon. Hopefully Clement and team work really hard with the youngsters this year to get them fully ready to start next season.
20.) 21 Nov 2023 12:51:56
Apparently Devine was held in higher regard than Patterson but looks like his development has stalled.
21.) 21 Nov 2023 13:53:10
wait a minute so are we saying play the young lads even if they aren't better than who is playing. that's just nonsense. imagine losing the game because we had some young lad playing and it cost us, what noise do you think would come from the stands that day.
if they are good enough they will break their way into the team. no manager would not play a good young player just because he is young.
22.) 21 Nov 2023 15:16:56
John he left because there was no clear route in the rangers team.
It's so obvious
I know you always like to use the party line but come on.
What we do with mcausland and Lowry will dictate what happens with a lot of our other youth we need to send a message that there is a path to first team.
Look at devine come in played well out of his more natural position when covering for barasic and we didn't lose a game when he played and he was dropped as soon as barasic was fit.
And hasn't really had many chances since.
23.) 21 Nov 2023 15:21:06
Geesadodothat NO! Again another person who reads one thing and makes up stuff in head
We could be losing mcausland for development fee 300-350k
I'm saying even if we put in a release clause in his contract say 600k that if he doesn't get the amount of games or game time say 10-15 games then he's free to find a club for that fee
Better than losing him for 350k and never finding out if he's good enough.
24.) 21 Nov 2023 15:22:14
So managers don't refuse to play players because they won't sign a new deal ????
Now who's being silly
Sure that doesn't happen eh! ?.
25.) 21 Nov 2023 15:23:59
Just because we give him a contract that states game time doesn't mean he gets it.
Protecting the club a little and maximise potential fee if we are to lose a full international player after he's now played for Northern Ireland he will have no shortage of admirers.
26.) 21 Nov 2023 15:48:33
Stevie the discusses around Gilmour that was the question
He left the second he could he did not want to be at rangers
Could not play in lowland leaguee too young could not play I. League cup too young could not play in spfl too young
Re others obviously clement also does not think the r ready or he would play them
Gofor u r correct re players not being played, Wilson never got games for b team as he was not signing a new deal.
27.) 21 Nov 2023 16:31:13
John, I was thinking of Wilson yesterday. any idea how he's doing at Villa?
28.) 21 Nov 2023 16:37:38
Also think it's funny how we are not willing to give these guys a chance yet teams that play in premier league seria A and the like are even though they play at a higher level surely we are big enough within our own league to start with at least one youth player a game or every second game.
There is this thing that you can do to change it if not playing well
5 subs ?.
29.) 21 Nov 2023 16:45:26
Dunno if we can take the credit for rice's development, did we not get him from Motherwell.
30.) 21 Nov 2023 17:37:30
Felt I answered that question pretty well John.
Gave u examples as to why that was a strong possibility.
Youth didn’t and doesn’t get a chance at rangers.
Obviously Billy felt that could’ve happened to him, and going by past experience of most youth players that’s a good indicator.
What part of my answer doesn’t suit the question John?
31.) 21 Nov 2023 18:01:24
Mark, seems to be doing fantastic. More goals than games something like 14 in 11 games
Scored Scotland under 19 Saturday. At least one assist today. Not sure final score.
This lad has it all
Baz yes re rice, however as a 16 year old he will be further developed by rangers.
32.) 21 Nov 2023 19:35:18
As I recall, we tried to play Gilmour and were told that he had to be over 16 before he could play in the SPFL, he then left for Chelsea rather than sign a pro deal with us . Not slagging the boy but he was prepared to play a couple of years in Chelsea`s under age sides but not in ours, its obvious the main factor was money and that's fair enough, everyone wants to earn the best wages possible. After Lampard left he hardly featured for Chelsea and even at Brighton it took a good while before Di Zerbi picked him . If he had stayed with Rangers he could have been a first team regular during that time, we`ll never know . I have no problem with why he left but it certainly wasn`t because he didn`t get a chance, he didn`t wait long enough to find out.
33.) 21 Nov 2023 20:35:09
On the button Wsl, was not even allowed to play in lowland league as he was only 15.
34.) 21 Nov 2023 22:03:13
Had Gilmour stayed I honesty think his career would have been further advanced by now.
17 Jan 2023 17:44:26
Anyone else hearing rumours about Krystovic from Dunajska Streda (Slovakia club)?
Apparently top scorer in the league, 22 years old, 19 goals in 27 games.
1.) 17 Jan 2023 17:49:07
Heard a rumour would be a great signing and get him for a million.
2.) 17 Jan 2023 17:58:40
Someone mentioned him last night. Looks a right handful. I really hope there is something to that one.
3.) 17 Jan 2023 18:10:27
Good record and looks a handful. 1m being rumoured.
4.) 17 Jan 2023 19:30:33
Hope that's who we are after the 1 player from abroad.
5.) 17 Jan 2023 19:36:53
Just watched some clips there some belters of goals
This lad can play.
6.) 17 Jan 2023 19:38:11
Could this be the player beale was talking about bringing in from Europe.
7.) 17 Jan 2023 22:55:44
You speak to their chairman Stephen?
8.) 18 Jan 2023 03:21:21
No left foot but looks good physically reminds me of mitrovic.
9.) 18 Jan 2023 14:05:34
His name is spelt Krstovic incase any of you want to you tube him.

Had a wee stock take to myself this morning of what the teams looking like and I think it's looking like this.
GK - Butland, Kelly, McCrorie
RB - Tav, Sterling, Devine
CB - Goldson, Souttar, Davies, Nsiala, Balogun, King
LB - Jeffe, Yilmas, Fraser
CM - Diomande, Raskin, Barron, Dowell
CAM - Cantwell, Lawrence, Hagi, Lowry
R/ LW - Cortez, Mantondo, Wright, McCausland, Lovelace
ST - Dessers, Danilo, Igamane
Clearly we'll do more transfer business but I wanted to ask what folk think the priorities are at the moment?
For me as much as I think Tav and Goldson will move on and be replaced, I think a creative goal scoring midfielder and another winger (hopefully Sima) is first on the list.
1.) 07 Jul 2024 11:35:37
CH dept viving me the fear. And cortez is our only good wide player.
2.) 07 Jul 2024 12:01:41
Need CH and another winger or two. Goldson and Tav gone would be excellent as well as wright Lawrence hagi and dowell.
Lowry is done also.
3.) 07 Jul 2024 12:34:43
Agree re your list storm also I want Davies Matondo
The salary we pay some these guys is ridiculous, example you can’t bring in a ch or winger when still carrying Davies 27kor Matondo 22k
The same applies to nearly every player u name, over one million a seas, Tav Goldson two million a seasOn.
4.) 07 Jul 2024 12:47:30
Squad will never look like that there’s a helluva a lot of players to leave still and I’d say another 5/ 6 to come in.
5.) 07 Jul 2024 13:08:59
I think we will need to sell Mccrorie, lammers, and Cifuentes.
Loan out King, Devine and possibly Fraser for experience.
Then I think we need to sell and replace Goldson, Dowell, Matando, either cantwell or Hagi, Wright and Dessers with better quality. And an additional RW.
6.) 07 jul 2024 13:20:25
We must learn from these past years, for a long, long time rangers have paid higher, often much higher rates than Celtic and way beyond everyone else in the country. This was originally because rangers considered themselves, rightly, as Scotland's premier club and wanted to be seen as such
This carried in through history and in recent times David Murray took it to new levels of wages, as we have seen he had different ways of paying, when the storm clouds broke and rangers went down we carried on, paying more for some players than the entire league we played in instead of paying a decent wage to the best young players around.
We were paying long finished guys like Kevin Kyle a fortune for nothing at all, then we returned, and started once again paying way too much money, guys like Gerard was used to big money so he saw no issue with 20k weekly pay, so rangers once again had a much larger pay scale than Celtic, but Celtic won virtually everything so that system doesn’t work.
Ask psg who've been trying to buy the players to win the cl for years now. Paying fortunes makes players less competitive. They become instant millionaires, often multimillionaires, and the edge begins to crumble.
Rangers should be well paid in the context of Scotland, not in the context of England. this new cast off of players will likely be another painful lesson to us, and negotiations in future deals need to be done by professionals in that field, not someone deciding to pay a player 5m no matter how good or how long they stay focused on the job. More due diligence in future deals, because big wages can cripple a club.
7.) 07 Jul 2024 14:09:56
I forgot cifu was still a player with us - yes agree with most of this from everyone - matondo and Wright please go especially Wright - we badly need a CB possibly 2 depends who leaves (will not be easy shifting them) - badly need a RW and another striker if possible (-again someone needs to leave between dessers and Danilo for this to happen) - really hope big sima returns as well ??????.
8.) 07 jul 2024 14:32:09
there are of course exceptional players who do give everything fir the extent of they're contracts, they're hard to find imo.
9.) 07 Jul 2024 14:32:59
Tom, that's an excellent post.
10.) 07 Jul 2024 14:36:07
I forgot about Davies and matondo as well John.
11.) 07 Jul 2024 15:19:52
Bee, we don’t need to well McCrorie, he’s only on 7k approx a week.
12.) 07 jul 2024 15:26:02
Thanks mark. i believe certain 'marquee' players guys who bring more than an ordinary player brings, standouts if you like, do deserve to be highly paid, more than others, but these players should be above average all the time, like great strikers ir playmakers, also certain defenders who are above the norm, it wouldn't work paying everyone the same obviously, but paying everyone way above their level is bad business.
13.) 07 Jul 2024 15:48:16
Depending on outgoings we need another RCB, LCB, CM, CAM, RW, and Striker.
If we lose players as rumoured like Goldson, Davies, Lawrence and Dessers, we have to look at signing players who currently have first team experience, as the squad needs to have a balance.
14.) 07 Jul 2024 15:52:07
Good post Tom.
15.) 07 Jul 2024 16:23:44
Very good post Tom.
16.) 07 Jul 2024 17:13:11
Is Mccrorie not in the last year of his contract though?
If he’s not going to play better to sell rather than leave for free.
17.) 07 Jul 2024 19:05:35
Agree with that, however extend his deal and loan out. Bee. I’d rather priority players we pay between one and two million a year to move .
18.) 07 Jul 2024 20:13:55
Wilkins,
Read Tav, Lawrence and that chocolate chancer heading for door. That should get rahman plus.
19.) 07 Jul 2024 20:31:24
That’s making an assumption that he’d sign an extension!
20.) 07 Jul 2024 21:00:27
Agree John, but if he wants to improve as a player he will need first team football which he won’t get if Butland is still here. I’m not sure why he would extend apart from the cash?
He is 26 now so no longer a youngster.
In the few games I have seen him he has done well and not done anything wrong but obviously not yet ready to challenge if manager isn’t even playing him in the cups.
21.) 07 Jul 2024 21:01:29
Sorry just read u mentioned loan out. If he extended and was loaned out that would be ideal for us.
Just not sure he will want to extend.
22.) 08 Jul 2024 07:53:48
Miller chocolate chancer Who are referring to their.
23.) 08 Jul 2024 16:04:26
Bee there does not appear to be a lot of interest at his stage in mcrorie.
27 Jun 2024 14:49:23
Any chance of a poll on who would prefer to play our home games at Hampden or Murrayfield until Ibrox is sorted?
I know if I had to choose between them I'd choose Murrayfield everyday of the week, and I live in Glasgow.
Bigger capacity so would hopefully cover some costs of hiring it.
The atmosphere is night and day compared to Hampden. Hampden is a dreadful stadium and actually the idea of a CL qualifier at Murrayfield with 67k gers fans sounds class.
{Ed033's Note -
Hampden or Murrayfield poll
1.) 27 Jun 2024 15:14:06
Sure I read that hampden out the picture till nations league game in September, also concerts then pitch and stadium work to be done before that, so don't think it'll be home games there. As posted earlier.
2.) 27 Jun 2024 16:39:07
Scotty
We all know Hamden a @@@@hole but from logistical point view most fans coming from Glasgow and surrounding area. Christ shooting myself in foot here because coming from London and far better service to Edimboro than Glasgow or Prestwick.
3.) 27 Jun 2024 19:34:44
Can't disagree with you MBW in terms of logistics, particularly for those in the west end of the city but the idea of even a few games at hampden takes the excitement out of the start if the season for me. At least with hampden the atmosphere would be class.
28 May 2024 11:23:32
I know we'll all have a view on it, but does anyone have an idea of whether PC intends in giving Hagi a look over during pre-season?
1.) 28 May 2024 12:30:12
I'd be looking to move Hagi on, failed to impress in the 3 years or so he's been here.
2.) 28 May 2024 12:32:18
Think he has to . Kid still has something to offer .
3.) 28 May 2024 12:58:18
Be surprised if he wasn’t sold to gain extra funds but you never know. He has a real lack of pace which I think is something Clement will try and improve within the squad. No doubt he’d have more assists than Cantwell if he’d played as many games in there though.
4.) 28 May 2024 13:13:44
I would certainly hope he will be given a chance in his true position and not wasted as a wide player. I've said many times, the best Number 10 at the club and potentially the best player in Scotland.
5.) 28 May 2024 13:16:22
Pre season make or break for a few lowery, hagi, king, dowell, Lawrence to name a few.
6.) 28 May 2024 13:21:25
Pc came in and the squad done a u turn in form from what we seen under beale so a season for hagi under pc we could see a player there better than what we have seen from hagi before his loan deal.
7.) 28 May 2024 14:14:55
It will depend on if any one comes in for him. I think Rangers will sell if they can.
8.) 28 May 2024 17:31:11
Hagi is not a kid he is 26 in October and not what we need.
03 Jan 2024 17:01:28
Generally not one for bringing back previous players for 2nd stints but with it looking like lammers isn't going to cut it, would it be worth trying a 6 month loan for aribo?
1.) 03 Jan 2024 18:41:16
Would like him back but no chance Southampton would loan him out considering he’s started 6 out their last 7 games.
2.) 03 Jan 2024 19:25:58
Scotty, no way he is allowed to leave on loan he's finally starting to find his feet there and is getting rave reviews atm.
3.) 03 Jan 2024 19:32:12
Ah I didn't realise he was starting for them. I thought he'd fallen out of favour - no chance then ?.
4.) 03 Jan 2024 20:04:43
He scored last week he’s finding his form now.
5.) 03 jan 2024 20:17:33
nope, a return to players who won very little is not a good idea,
6.) 03 Jan 2024 21:05:45
Would love Aribo back, I'd say absolutely no chance is that happening tho.
7.) 04 Jan 2024 06:16:13
I agree Tom need to move on and look for players that could be better people forget adobo was inconsistent.
13 Oct 2023 09:32:16
Having now thought about whether my preference is Clement or Muscat, i'm not swaying to the side of Muscat.
Clement is a higher pedigree manager, no doubt but I feel he's quite similar in personality and style of football to what we've had over the past few years. Not that it can't be successful but I just think it's become a bit stale and predictable.
Muscat on the other hand brings a personality we've not had in a manager for a while and has a different (hopefully more exciting) way of playing which I think for both fans and players would be refreshing.
Ultimately I won't be disappointed with either but just something telling me Muscat is the way to go.
1.) 13 Oct 2023 10:52:17
Agree. muskats play is attacking off the ball movement that's key for me fed up with players standing around stealing a wage n great for young players.
2.) 13 Oct 2023 11:59:05
Couldn’t agree more Scotty. Muscat is my preferred choice.
3.) 13 Oct 2023 12:10:18
The biggest problem any manager is going have is the players are simply not good enough.
4.) 13 Oct 2023 12:25:00
Would prefer Muscat myself but be happy with Clement if they go that way, as long as the horseshoe is not in their playbook a think the vast majority will be happy ???.
5.) 13 Oct 2023 13:22:29
Sone of these players took us to a European final
That’s no mean feat.
6.) 13 Oct 2023 14:15:57
Both set up similar.
Clement 4-3-3
Muscat 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1
Clement obviously likes wingers as he had Noah Lang who was decent against us whilst playing for PSV.
It will be interesting if they can get a tune out of the current crop of tweak their system until the summer to get their own players on board?
7.) 13 oct 2023 16:53:24
absolutely spud, some of our team will respond better, some are not up to it, beale showed time and again he was way out of hisdepth, palma is akready showing i'm up.

Super sorry but don't agree. We have very talented young players who just need the right system to get them playing. This squad is good enough to challenge Celtic and play high pressing football. Cantwell for example. Everyone including him could see his strength yet he was moved to allow duds that beale bought to fill in.

I'd be so surprised if we bought another CB with Souttar, Davies, Propper, Balogun, Nsiala and King around unless one is leaving (hopefully davies) .
For me priority would be a CM and an attacking creative player, ideally someone who can play all across the front.

Because if we sign a cb and then a sale for our cbs fall through we are stuck will too many, and that's wasting wages.
Also add to that teams aren't stupid, if we've bought a cb they'll know we need to sell one so can hold us to random more. Ain't rocket science.

If that's the case one (or even 2) of our current cb need to be off the books soon.

Tom, sure you only come on here for sissy arguments?
No wonder people are apprehensive about posting anything on this forum.

Agree BlueDreamer, really pisses me off how the desperation for titles has turned us into a toxic fan base.
Dado, are you saying we've got a new DoF and a new manager but someone else is stil signing off on the signing players from the same club?

Being respectful and having an opinion that someone should move on are different things.
Yes, i think goldson had to leave this summer given he's on the decline and wages he's on.
But at the same time i won't say a bad word against him cause he's been a good player for our club and for that ill be grateful and wish him the best.
Some people don't know the difference there and have no respect. there's always a minority who think it makes them seem ruthless and that they hold higher standards by insulting rangers players.

Can't disagree with you MBW in terms of logistics, particularly for those in the west end of the city but the idea of even a few games at hampden takes the excitement out of the start if the season for me. At least with hampden the atmosphere would be class.

I simiailarly would like ferguson in the fold somewhere at the club, but as a general rule I believe 0% of what taxi drivers tell me.

I reckon our new defence will be new RB, SOUTTAR, new LcB and yilmas/ jefte.

Completely agree Bobby! We've missed out on some good players and signed some dross because they come from a "better league".
Sometimes having players in the squad that understand scottish football and get what it means to play for old firm is exactly what you need when it comes to crunch time.
