I believe that García has made it clear he won't be signing an extension, so he'll be eligible to sign a pre-contract at the start of July and move for free in the new year.
Peñarol have offered him improved terms on the remaining 6½ months of his contract. My guess is that they have done that because they know we want him now and if the player is more content to stay for the remainder of the Uruguayan season then they are in a better position to squeeze a higher fee from us.
I don't believe it's a major issue in getting a deal done.

I saw that they’re wanting to keep him for the Copa Libertadores but he’s not going to sign a new deal as he and his agent believe he can get a lot more than what Penarol can afford and that he wants a move to Europe. A player with his potential will want away from Uruguay as he’ll see himself in a top 5 league in the near future. I’d be very surprised if he’s signed a new deal unless it had a low release clause built into it.

Cifuentes barely got time to settle in let alone consistent run in our team, he is still our player and valued at 15 mill not too long ago, unfortunately the club he was playing for in south america have not played him often, no doubt the confidence is smashed, big move to Rangers barely played then tossed on the scrap heap, and look at the duds we hung onto, either always injured or 1 decent game out 3, shocking how quickly we gave up on young cifu, hope he finds a club that will give him a better run and time to settle in, of course his early injury never helped, an constantly injured dowell or a fit Cifu, i know which one i'd rather have, lads got genuine talent.
Hope he comes back and proves us wrong.

Cifuentes hardly kicked a ball with Rangers. The guy could go on to have a very successful career. Besides, I don't think it was about ability with him I think just didn’t settle. The game moved from LA to Glasgow it must have been quite the culture and weather shock.

Heard Brighton will be looking for 8m+ for sima. Does that completely rule out his return? Or would it depend if they were willing to accept say 3m in add ons? Would absolutely love to see him and Cortez full fit either side of a new striker.
I see rhamanis club are also hiking his price up again ? I wonder why when we come calling players prices go up yet we don't have much money ?

What I’m seeing here is maybe an explanation as to why we were shopping in the lower English market for years.
Going into the markets were targeting Thai summer seems to be a hard sell getting them to buy into rangers / Scotland.
This could explain why we resorted to the players we did.
It’s worrying we’re losing out in our 1st n 2nd choice targets.

Need to be patient, free transfers are easy to get done early on but when we have to negotiate deals it takes longer . There will be disappointments as other clubs outbid us, or players don`t want to come but that's just the reality of where we are as a club in the pecking order of world football not to mention how unappealing our league is. My feeling is that the more experienced players will need to be bought and that at the moment we are just tying up the deals that we can. It may depend on who leaves but I feel we still need 4 experienced players up the spine of the team, CD, DM, AM and CF.

Championship players are worth double what spl players are and a good portion are on far better wages. Loads of teams miss out on no1 targets even teams like barca, Liverpool, Chelsea etc, that's why we have lists of players. I don't think there no1 target because they are so much better, loads of different things are took into consideration age, contract, pedigree etc. We would all like to get our no1 targets obviously but I'll not be to worried if we need to go elsewhere at times, as long as our club aren't held to ransom. We do need patience though. let's trust koppen until he gives us reason not to.

Let's be honest from day one even in the championship Tav has been an awful defender absolutely one of the worst I've seen at rangers in my life time. Sure he scores goals and pens the odd free kick and some assists but he takes every corner every free kick so he should be getting assists and goals ? people saying who will replace his goals ? we've replaced mccoist we've replaced hateley we've replaced de boer it's football ? the fact we've relied on a guy who costs us multiple goals a season is mental we've allowed him to cost us season after season because he scores mostly pens ? this isn't Tav bashing it's facts the only people happy to see him stay are Celtic fans the absolutely love him playing for us because they know he will give them goal after goal every single season. In 10 years he's never learned to defend never learned when to attack and when not to either. I for one will be very glad to see the back of him apart from goals he shouldn't of been here 3 seasons never mind 10. A defender who can defend more than anything would be a bonus. 3 trophies in 10 years for any rangers captain is absolutely not on.

I'd hope he can improve massively or he wouldn't be anywhere near game time at Ibrox. He's never been a full starter for Aberdeen sure he starts some games but not all of them. My worry is if he's barely a key player for Aberdeen (much like wright) how can he be expected to be a starter for rangers? I hope my worries are wrong tho just seems very similar to the wright signing.

Great post mate I've been the same for years the last great era was the early Messi era. Now it's very very boring. I only tend to watch rangers games now. The EPL is an overrated snooze fest only city really win it these days. Some reds now weren't even yellows in the 90 or early 2000s.
