From what iv seen on sky news, last night's CL result involving the super duper c*ltic, was carnage and could seriously been double figures. Beating Dortmund isn't for everyone though. ?

Now the harsh reality is Scottish football is going to lose CL altogether unless the standard of the league improves. The guys earning the big bucks at Hampden better start earning their money or we are all losing out.

1.) 02 Oct 2024 13:12:24
RTID Uefa don't help either as they make it more difficult for smaller nations to get into league set up. Top 5 nations getting 5 places etc means there is less room for the rest of us. SFA have questions to answer to try and make teams in the league play more kids as the SPL format doesn't encourage that IMO.

The positive little as it is that we might end up playing in Europa groups and conference league where we pick up more wins and move up table again getting into top 15 which gets ECL qualification. money not the same from qualifying but perhaps more win prizes.

2.) 02 Oct 2024 15:47:32
The reality is both teams are miles off it. We took a mauling off Liverpool and became the worst team in champions league history (hoping Slovan Bratislava keep up their form though).

Celtic have started the season fantastically, but it shows the absolute gulf in class at that level because that was a humiliation. This is what we need to avoid against Spurs and Man U as make no mistake. These are a class above us and even Celtic again.

3.) 02 Oct 2024 15:57:45
It was men vs boys. The game was over after 11 mins. At least when we got humped by Liverpool (who i would say were better back then than Dortmund are now), we scored first and i don't remember it being a total slaughter until Salah came on and scored his hat trick. LOL.

4.) 02 Oct 2024 17:55:33
Personally I'm otm they got pumped but I wish we had a team who could bear them and not rely on others as fir Europe the CL is about making as much money as possible and the EL is our standard ATM.

5.) 02 Oct 2024 18:21:10
We were doing not too badly against Liverpool until Goldson had to go off injured.
Its all opinions of course but I reckon the Dortmund team we beat in Dortmund was better than that one last night.

6.) 02 Oct 2024 18:25:03
Celtic made it easy for them, Dortmund passed through their press easily and had three + on two all the time, great to watch even better if we could do it.

7.) 02 Oct 2024 19:01:56
I agree lads but what is the point in getting into the champions League to get pumped every time ok money? Buy better players? Not happening? Seems like a total catch 22 to me a very vicious circle has been for ages.

8.) 02 Oct 2024 19:04:06
That Dortmund team were in champs league final a few months ago the team we beat was in Europa league I don’t know how anyone can say they were better then. Maybe with haaland but he never played against us at that time.

9.) 02 Oct 2024 19:36:32
storm they lost at least 6 of that team at end of season, Hummels, Fullkrug, Reus, Sancho, Maatsen and Sabitzer. so they were a new team last night. in the team we played they had Bellingham, Guerrero, Akanji and Malen with Brandt, Reus and Hummel a good few years younger and Germany internationals. so about opinions but I think that team were better as well.

10.) 02 Oct 2024 19:57:52
Sabitzer came on as a sub Angus.

11.) 02 Oct 2024 20:32:23
I'm sure Dortmund were in the semi final the season before we played them, they dropped down into the Europa the season we played them, not much in with that side and the side last night.

12.) 02 Oct 2024 21:01:43
Maatsen was a loan. Reus hasn’t been the same player for 2/ 3 years because of injuries and sabitzer is still there. Hummels 36/ 37 and fullkrug they replaced with a better striker so don’t get your point Angus ?

You are entitled to your opinion but the team you thought was better couldn’t even get in champs league so it’s bs ?.

13.) 02 Oct 2024 21:03:48
You would be wrong my star it was Man City Real Madrid Chelsea and psg ?

Ps it’s not hard to check before you post.

14.) 02 Oct 2024 21:04:56
It was 1/4 finals they got to mystar ?.

15.) 02 Oct 2024 21:56:08
cheers Fork knew he was in the team when we played them and never saw him in starting line up last night so thought he had moved on after Man Utd loan. It does explain why I read somewhere 5 had moved on when I had 6 in my list now.

16.) 02 Oct 2024 21:59:56
Was goi g to reply to the post further down but thought I’d start a new one so everyone sees it

Regarding the Celtic game last night I don't think theirs much in it either My star from last nights team. To the one we played?

Wee need to give ourselves more credit when it’s due
Our Europa league ventures are right up their
our team came alive in those nights and we matched everyone who crossed our paths and bet them when we had to up until the final where we only just lost out

Guys we played fkn well in those games and not just the run up to the final but results in precious years Europa campaigns and gave those teams a game who had much more money spent on them yet we still made it to the final with some excellent displays and results
don’t kid ourselves or down play it Celtic right now have a good squad and good depth but they have made a fortune off the back of us bringing Scotlands coefficient right up and giving them access to champs league football without the qualification rounds
It’s just a bloody nightmare our league form hasn't matched our European form/ results or we could have seen the fruits of our own labour

even against last week against Malmo we played some good football created loads of chances
we really seem suited to European football more now than Scottish league football
some say it’s because teams park the bus against us
Celtic don’t yet we struggle against them

Anyone ever thought recently stick a European top on Celtic call it a Europa game and I do wonder how we would fair ? Joking kind of ?

European football we just raise a bar that we can’t find domestically that’s very frustrating and been like that while now and because of it Celtic find themselves in the thick of champs league football where they struggled and come back to domestic and score 5-6 etc
Celtic in Europa haven’t even Been great either before anyone mentions its champs league

Anyway dortmund I agree with my star not a lot in it and we held our own.

17.) 02 Oct 2024 22:02:18
My star they made it to 1/ 4s where they were beaten by Man City. they dropped out of ECL groups the season we played them.

18.) 02 Oct 2024 22:08:22
We were doing brilliantly in the Cl against liverpool until both Goldson and Jack went off with long tetm injuries. That was the baw burst for the rest of the tournament.

19.) 02 Oct 2024 22:10:10
No worries bud.

20.) 02 Oct 2024 22:38:09
Why check storm?

21.) 03 Oct 2024 00:53:06
Only reason Celtic even got into the champions league was Purely due to Rangers success in the Europa league under Gerrard in the first 2 seasons, let's be honest though neither Celtic or Rangers are on the level required for a succesful Champions league campaign.

lets not forget the season Celtic dropped out of all 3 competitions at the first stage, that is still a scottish epic fail record ;)

22.) 03 Oct 2024 08:27:10
Storm. the point being is that you said that that team were in the Champions league final a few months ago. However they lost 5 of those players so it isn't that team in fact probably only half that team. those players you write off to try and win the 'argument' BTW were good enough to reach the ECL final, let's see if this group manage that. that's The thing about having this type of opinion sometimes you only have to wait until the end of the season to see who is right.

you are correct it is my opinion that Bellingham, Akanji, Guerrero and a younger Hummels, Brandt and Reus who 2 or 3 years ago according to you was better then make the team we beat better than the one on Tuesday. this is one where we'll never know but that is what the forum is about having different opinions with everyone thinking theirs is right.

23.) 03 Oct 2024 08:30:49
My star there is no reason to and if you are wrong then other posters can let you know (politely) I knew from what you had written you were doing it from memory. It then spurred my interest so I checked as it is what I like doing. filled in 5 minutes of my work day so thanks ?.

24.) 03 Oct 2024 12:42:04
Get involved with MLS rather than UEFA competition, don't need to travel by Titanic style now. That market is massive and much more entertaining. We are priced out of competing in Europe and the gubbing the beggars got will happen more and more. That should have been 12-1.

25.) 03 Oct 2024 12:44:06
Laudruphagi - the only reason Celtic are in the champions league is because they keep winning the league and whilst they may have been knocked out of all 3 competitions, we currently are the worst team in champions league history.

26.) 03 Oct 2024 17:32:54
Tav123, we will see next year if they are still there when the automatic place disappears which was there for them from the coefficient we built up in the last 5 years. once they have to play qualifiers then they might not make the groups if they don't get an easy draw. then their automatic £20-£40M depending what you read will disappear as well. So the point Laudruphagi makes has merit as it was one of the reasons which meant Celtic made the group stages.

27.) 03 Oct 2024 19:33:26
Why check my star? So you don’t look like a clown getting it wrong that’s why. ?

Angus 5 players don’t make a team these days it’s the full squad.

I ain’t trying to do anything as I know I am right on this but thanks for trying ? also if they had better than those 5 they may have won it instead of getting beat in final.

28.) 04 Oct 2024 10:42:48
? did I say I'm positive or sure storm?

29.) 04 Oct 2024 18:13:24
Yeah my star it’s you. You barely ever get anything right on here.

30.) 04 Oct 2024 20:07:53
Aye ok storm?, your just a clown to serval on here that's all.

28 Jul 2023 16:12:50
Been told we have enquired about Dele Ali, won't be happy if he shows up, the lad has too much baggage atm.

RTID71

1.) 28 Jul 2023 16:35:45
To carry the hamper aff the bus maybe! ????.

2.) 28 Jul 2023 16:41:21
We already have too many options in that area of the park. Can't see us taking his wages on either.

3.) 28 Jul 2023 17:01:39
Checked with the source I got Mannswerk from and they said no truth in that for the exact reason you stated too much baggage and could upset the dressing room harmony.

4.) 28 Jul 2023 17:02:24
Haha I wouldn't even want to bring him to do that nrd.

5.) 28 Jul 2023 17:05:54
Wish the lad well. Had his demons, but prior to that was a superb talent. Not for our club tho hopefully!?!?! Don't mean to harp on . but it's defensive recruits we are needing now, and tbh, a few of them!

6.) 28 Jul 2023 17:25:37
Did we not learn a lesson from the whole Ramsey mess?

7.) 28 Jul 2023 17:35:00
Oh for fuc. some text missing.

8.) 28 Jul 2023 17:36:24
Surely not Dele, the guy has serious problems, he even got professional help to no avail. Pity about the guy but he needs long term help. Terrible waste of talent.

9.) 28 Jul 2023 18:14:04
I would prefer Ali G in da house? - sorry Dele not for me - we have enough to sort for season going forward.

10.) 28 Jul 2023 18:36:53
Nope nope and nope

His laziness in training is legendary.

11.) 28 Jul 2023 20:42:03
I don’t believe Dali Ali is coming to us but I also think it would be a huge mistake.
The last thing that lad needs is the amount of grief he would get from the press and the puddle drinkers up here if he signed for us.
I hope he gets a settled championship move or something like that where he can rebuild his career.

12.) 28 Jul 2023 19:26:32
GMS1983, I agree with your comments re defenders, we have been abysmal at the back since 55, that's the part of the team that scares me to death. It's that obvious, surely beale and the management must see it!

13.) 28 Jul 2023 20:21:09
I was told this in work last week but it was right after his interview so just thought it was a load of bull. Neve gave it a second thought however I did get into a debate with a couple of the guys talking about it that were saying stuff like he's got his demons forget it to much wages etc etc made me think how many people sat and said the same about Paul Gascoigne when we signed him and look how that turned out sometimes a footballer will lose his way and come to a club like Rangers and fall in love with the game again if there's not crippling wage demands I would take a punt on him.

14.) 28 Jul 2023 21:18:03
It's a massive no from me.

15.) 28 Jul 2023 23:40:53
It's amazing how many people have such insight into professional players they know nothing about! You just watch the interview with the lad and realise how much rubbish they also go through, after all they are human.

He would be a class signing if like he says in his interview, that he is back enjoying what he does best.

Wages would be a massive issue tho!

Also gofor he did state that Mourinho apologised for that statement, don't know where his legendary laziness comes from.

16.) 29 jul 2023 01:54:02
i just hope from afar that the boy finds some peace and end to his issues, and regains his place in football, so long as its not in the east end of glasgow, good luck to him.

17.) 30 Jul 2023 15:37:54
Big blue jam did you watch how mourinho and others felt about him in the spurs behind scenes season maybe you should watch that before people say they don't know what they are talking about.

18.) 30 Jul 2023 15:39:42
He might of apologized but he still ment it.

It's that passive aggressive stance where they think it's true but say it as a joke. When it's actually what they think.

So obvious no smoke without fire a reason why he's failed at so many clubs recently.

21 Jul 2023 18:19:18
The Danilo bid seems to have been rejected again, If we are serious then we should bid the £6mil, the lad wants to come so we now need to show him we are serious. He has 3yrs remaining on his contract and to miss out for £800k is not a good look, if we pull out and he has a blinder of a season for them we will look daft, iv a funny feeling we will cash plus Panzo for Borna anyway so the
Additional money is there. We need to show we are serious and just pay it.

RTID71

1.) 21 Jul 2023 18:42:17
If Borna leaves i really hope that we give a chance to Johnly Yfeko as he looks like he could do great things from what i have seen off him already.

2.) 21 Jul 2023 19:10:07
Cash plus Borna for Panzo sounds more like it.

3.) 21 Jul 2023 19:16:45
Im not seeing the cash + Panzo for Borna? Wheres that come from? I’ve refuelled my car and I am on standby to drive BB south if that's the deal.

4.) 21 Jul 2023 19:27:16
Danilo is great value at 6mill it equates to the 5.2 mill we offered plus the money we got for wright

No brainer.

5.) 21 Jul 2023 19:43:49
Talking to friends in Rotterdam he won't have a blinder because he won't be in the team. The fans don't rate him that highly. They want a different no2 to their main man.

I trust Beales eye for a player though so hope we get him.

6.) 21 Jul 2023 20:21:36
What if we bud 6 then they say they want 6.5 Just can’t keep going up and up if they have knocked it back time to move on.

7.) 21 Jul 2023 20:23:42
I agree. s*it or get off the potty whoever is doing the negotiations on our side. In other words pay the 6M.

8.) 21 Jul 2023 19:16:45

13.) 21 Jul 2023 20:27:04
Heart and Hand saying they expect us to return with another improved offer. No sources or info, purely opinion. But if it's coming from someone as close to the club I'd expect it to hold some weight. Could be wrong but hope we do. Starting to think we'll end up with another option though.

14.) 21 Jul 2023 20:35:09
Hearing the opposite the deal will be completed next week player wants to come and everything is agreed.

15.) 21 Jul 2023 21:22:28
800k isn't lose change that's a player like ridvans salary for the year

If we value him at 6m we will go back if not then we look elsewhere.

16.) 21 Jul 2023 21:30:45
Otterpocket, I just responded to someone suggesting cash plus Panzo for Barasic . and I would split the petrol with you, but I'm not going to Nottingham as I've been and ain't going back.

17.) 21 Jul 2023 22:28:12
Exactly storm and i've posted this also on the other site page. Feyenoord will keep moving the goalposts because they're under absolutely no pressure to sell and they know there's other interested parties wanting danilo.

18.) 21 Jul 2023 22:37:53
They say don’t go by YouTube clips but the clips I’ve seen he looks quality. Maybe just good edits. Either way seems like a good signing. 6 mil a lot we payed 7 for Kent and he blew hot air. Hopefully this guy does the business if we get him.

19.) 21 Jul 2023 22:56:06
Oh aye cash plus a Croatian international for a guy that's relatively untested?.

20.) 22 Jul 2023 00:30:40
Kelso Nottingham is one of the best places in the UK to meet amazing women. Outnumber men 2:1. I spent a summer on trial at Notts County and fell in love about 18 times with local girls ???.

21.) 22 Jul 2023 07:48:33
Ibroxstorm Yfeko played really well when ge came on as a centre half. What in his performance said he could play Bornas position. Can he motor up and down the pitch and can he put a decent ball into the box. Looked great as Ch but unknown for what you would like to see.

22.) 22 Jul 2023 08:38:08
You know a team has to be balanced if we are playing three forwards and attack minded players like cantwell Lawrence dowell in midfield too why on earth do we need attacking defenders should we not look at guys that can defend well first as main attribute rather than crossing or penalties?.

23.) 22 Jul 2023 09:56:30
Otterspocket Nottingham is the biggest dump I've ever been in and I've been to Leeds and Bradford.

01 Jun 2023 09:43:16
The Haji Wright rumour seems to have faded, anyone know if we are patching it? Last I seen we had a supposed £7m bid rejected, although that could just have been paper talk.

RTID71

1.) 01 Jun 2023 10:09:43
I think there’s interest.

2.) 01 Jun 2023 12:24:00
Rangers aren’t going to pay £7m for one player.

3.) 01 Jun 2023 13:19:34
Think you've been very surprised verdant Beale has already mentioned good striker's cost money i reckon we've spend 10m on 2 cf this summer.

4.) 01 Jun 2023 13:29:57
We already have the only Hagi we need ;)

5.) 01 Jun 2023 13:32:05
We done it for kent?

6.) 01 Jun 2023 14:00:39
Verdant. Beale will have a budget and a wage structure. the more bosmans he gets in then the more money is available for a signing fee for a player.

7.) 01 Jun 2023 14:14:10
We could be doing with selling the hagi we have.

8.) 01 Jun 2023 15:17:19
Mentioning 7milluon and rangers is probably answering your own question that would be a nj the only reason we paid it for Kent was he played his best ever season got player of the year and never really delivered so no I can't see us forking out that type of money for a good while more likely 4 million or below.

9.) 01 Jun 2023 15:19:43
storm really! Should we not give the guy a chance to get fully fit and firing ?

Too many people jump on a player when he's been out a long time injured it takes at least 6 months to get back to where they were assuming they have no setbacks.

10.) 01 Jun 2023 16:57:54
It’s just my opinion, but I can’t see Rangers paying anything like £7m for a single player. Especially during a summer when the squad is being overhauled, and money is required to get 6-7 through the doors.

If we spent that on Hagi-Wright then it would almost certainly rule out the return of Tillman. Tillman did a very good job for us and represents very little risk in terms of a transfer. He knows the club, the manager likes him, and he can do a job in our league. Plus, we can sell him in a few years and get the money back which is key to our transfer model.

11.) 01 Jun 2023 17:29:25
Gofor I wanted him sold before his injury so no we wouldn’t ?.

12.) 02 Jun 2023 08:49:04
£7m can be paid over a fairly long period, it's no pumped out in a suitcase pro forma.

11 May 2023 09:38:22
Following on from my post yesterday regarding the boathouse MB and Maja, speaking to my lad (doesn't work IN the boathouse) he confirmed the rumour is true regarding Maja, he also mentioned staff have been told not to pester players as Cameron house have a contract with Rangers and don't want to jeopardise that which is fare enough. As for the frequency of MB at said Restaurant I'm going on what my lad says and what he's been told by his work colleagues. Remember Rumours are by nature exactly that and Football fans working in a place like that will (I'm sure) tell people they know who they have seen as it's human nature.

RTID71

1.) 11 May 2023 13:48:24
Great info, thanks for sharing. Concrete info like this is always great to hear ??.

2.) 11 May 2023 14:18:31
It's being reported on other Rangers forums that it wasn't Maja, but actually Sterling who MB met with.

I still don't think MB, or anyone, can meet with a player who has an extension written into his contract If his club were to win promotion. Please correct me if I'm wrong?!

3.) 11 May 2023 15:35:18
Only one way big ben Rangers would need permission from his club.

4.) 11 May 2023 15:36:16
It may well have been sterling with that seeming imminent now, hopefully Maja though.

5.) 11 May 2023 16:15:16
That makes sense Beale, but considering his current side can still get promoted, and he's been one of their best players, I would have thought this supposed contract extension clause would get triggered. Do we know for sure there is a clause, mate?

6.) 11 May 2023 16:29:57
I've read the clause can be rejected by the player and it's not so set in stone that he must accept it. Not sure how true or accurate this is. Also Maja and Sterling don't look alike at all so would be hard to mix the boys up.

7.) 11 May 2023 20:21:44
Maybe it wasn't Maja after all with tonight's news or reports.

8.) 12 May 2023 11:58:58
Does everybody have a relative in or connection to the boathouse, I haven't checked myself . where is it? Do they go out on a boat for these public but secret meetings?

With Kings coming out and making his intentions clear, let's see what the current board have to say for themselves. As fans we deserve to hear what EVERYONE is saying.

When Dave King left he made it clear he had to look after his SA business interests let's face it had we been in his position we would look after the bread and butter businesses, I can only imagine he would have been told by his business partners to get his finger out and concentrate on the main business (s) because owning a football club is a vanity project, not to us supporters however, but at the end of the day we are all born to support Rangers so let's see what comes out of all this, Remember it could be worse we could be wearing the green&grey and there is no amount of money for any of us to do that. Let's give the lads the boost they need on Saturday. ????.

I think we all forget that Millionaires/ Billionaires are and have all done things of "questionable legality" over the years to obtain their wealth. Wither it be insider trading or shorting the market, ripping each other off is just a big game to them, these things happen on a daily basis by people we all think are whiter than white it's the nature of the beast. Dave King may or may NOT be able invest outside of SA for the moment, however there's ways and means around everything and if he can bring other investors to the table, personally I don't care if it's the devil himself, at the end of the day money is money and until someone finds a replacement for it then I'm afraid we need it and I'll take Dave King and whoever else he can get to invest theirs. We will prevail I can feel it Iain my bones. ??.

Totally agree. There can be no doubting his commitment and as the biggest shareholder he knows if the Club don't perform both On and Off the park it will affect his share value. If we don't trust our biggest shareholder we are in serious trouble. And yes King isn't squeeky clean, tell me a high roller who is. What he is however is a dyed in the wool bluenose who's aim is to get The Club back to where it rightfully belongs.

he was given the 'cold shoulder' by the City; prosecuted by SA revenue services at which time the court said he lied without any sign of emotion. so can any of what he says be trusted. Of the charges money laundering was one of them. do we even want to risk getting caught up in that. he also said Bisgrove would be a great CEO for Rangers. as Simon Cowell would say, its any from me; not that my opinion holds any weight.

We have had a few devils over the last few years and it didn`t end well for us . Ashley has pots of money would you really want him reinvesting and getting his foot in the door again and there are many more like him out there . British football is littered with big clubs brought to their knees by bad owners . I would rather have Park and King and Bennett than the people they rescued us from . At least we have a club to support and I`m not sure that would have been the case if they had not stepped in to rescue us.

you can take the boy out of Castlemilk, but you can't take Castlemilk out the boy LOL. If someone like Dave King were to apply for the C E O job would they even be considered.

RTID so u would be happy with Ashley’s money.

I have earned my income without questionable legality as you put it.

That's a terrible misconception of successful people in business.

Correct asa, I would not dignify the clueless wonder with a reply.

Ok. We definitely have a conference issue but the communication between players at times is a concern they need to start playing for each other as well, however it's 3pts and up the road.

some don't even know each others names nevermind how they play. takes a while for so many changes to gel.

Todays team should be good enough to put us 0-2 up by the time he puts the subs on, integrating the new guys with a lead is better than starting them is it not. Let's trust the manager and not press the panic button the game hasn't even started yet. Back the whole team, back the Captain and the Manager and let them play. My prediction 0-3 to us and back hame.

Dessers, Tav and Barron to score. ??.

Think we have a problem here, if the lad himself wants to come he’s going to have to push for it himself, and I don’t think WE will wait. Shame if we don’t wait as he would suits Beale system.

Think Souness was looking for DOF not an Ambassador role, Other than that it’s a strange one.

£10m+ Arsenal will be looking at, seemingly a Turkish team bid £2m and it’s been thrown out, haven’t a clue what we would bid but it won’t be anywhere near double figures. 27yrs old good age as well.

I agree with most of the points you have made MPH……. what chance has our game got when the Women’s game in England is being touted for sponsorship totalling £1Billion in 10yrs and we get £125mil over 5 yrs. Also Paying that idiot Doncaster £400k per yr is not proportional to the work he does, I could have brokered a better deal than that and I know ZERO about brokering TV deals, and just who agreed his 24month notice period . Personally I would leave this league and go for the super league, what have we to loose. After all it’s not as if we haven’t ever won everything the Scottish game has to offer, it’s all about money now so why shouldn’t we just tell them to stick it and move onwards and upwards.

@VerdantAbyss, £2.5m net spend for a rebuild is not enough, The club are shopping in the bargain bin for players and as fans, we are expecting them to get us to the CL.
Now and again a player (s) emerges (Cifu, Raskin and Cantwell can make us money) but at the moment the Manager is letting them down. The Europa League is our level for now and Beale needs a tune out the team or he will be fired and he knows it. Yesterday was a BIG opportunity missed (yes the goal should have stood) but Beale says we should still be able to score with the players we have, We could still be playing now and it would STILL be 0-1 to that mhob. They got away with one yesterday and they know it!

Now I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination but I STILL can’t see what shape Beale is trying to play. It’s like every game there are a bunch of strangers on the field, where’s the structure? We are in for a long season now and I'm dreading the Europa League games.
