Does anyone know if there is any truth in the papers today that we have supposable agreed a fee for Yusuf Kabadayi from Bayern at about 1M.

1.) 10 Jun 2024 20:23:04
Someone was saying it's the money Bayern were due us for Tillman being used so not costing us anything. I like that idea means it's low risk for possible high reward.

2.) 10 Jun 2024 20:43:14
I believe so. A great deal if so.

3.) 10 Jun 2024 23:05:41
I really don't like the look of him in vids and the German report I read on him was below average at best it's not a signing I'm particularly looking forward to but I hope I'm wrong, cany be at Bayern if your a bad player surely.

4.) 11 Jun 2024 06:22:41
Horses for courses, he may be a perfect fit for us. If he’s an upgrade on Scott wright it’s a no brainier for me.

5.) 11 Jun 2024 06:44:24
Although i absolutely trust clement and koppen on our signings from what i've seen i'd prefer mofokeng or traore over kabadayi for our wide position ? What does everyone else think ?.

6.) 11 Jun 2024 07:05:32
Believe their will be more than one wide player coming in.

7.) 11 Jun 2024 07:06:54
Sws hardly no one will have seen them play.

8.) 11 Jun 2024 07:17:47
He looks a good option from bench who will replace Scott Wright probably on less wages with far more potential. Manager is being smart how he is reducing wage bill while bringing age of squad down with this signing.

9.) 11 Jun 2024 07:44:00
Sws no reason we won't move for more as this is basically a freebie because the money Bayern owe us for Tilman.

10.) 11 Jun 2024 08:07:05
Looks like another left winger.

Like most of the players we've been linked with he looks pacey - which is something we were really lacking at points last season.

11.) 11 Jun 2024 08:38:52
Remember Bellshilllad83, we already have Cortes, matondo, McCausland and possibly sima and this guy kabadayi from Bayern which obviously gives us 5 wingers, so you can see where i'm coming from if we do definitely sign kabadayi, i don't think we'd sign another winger ie. mofokeng or adama traore. ?

To answer your question My star, yes I've not seen much of kabadayi, mofokeng and traore but the clips i have seen, I think mofokeng and traore look better than kabadayi, just my opinion mate ?.

12.) 11 Jun 2024 09:10:01
I think there will be more than one wide player brought in. Finding quality wide attackers is something Rangers have struggled with for years. The fact we were going into Old Firm games towards the end of last season with Scott Wright in the team is a joke.

13.) 11 Jun 2024 09:12:40
SirWalter, John has already said that Matondo has been told he is free to leave, so I would assume that Mofokeng is then still a viable target as we will need a backup LW.

14.) 11 Jun 2024 10:06:08
“John has already said that Matondo has been told he is free to leave, so I would assume that Mofokeng is then still a viable target as we will need a backup LW. ”

Scott Wright was free to leave last summer. Rangers even agreed to sell him to a club in Turkey but he wouldn’t go. It doesn’t matter who has been told to go, they may still be here next season.

Matondo will be on good money at Rangers. Finding a club who want to take that on won't be easy.

15.) 11 Jun 2024 10:24:04
So are we to miss out on a talented 19 year old who is probably going to take a year to settle and work his way into 1st team mins because matondo might not be sold. The fee is apparently 400k and he won't be coming in on anything like Matondo's wage. The talk above is based on Sima coming back which is far from a given at this point, IMO he is more likely to play somewhere else next season. Rangers need wingers, Cortes and Kabadayi aren't enough. The poor attacking options we had at the end of the season played a massive part in us losing the title.

16.) 11 Jun 2024 11:30:01
Football clubs are a business. A business does not just sign players, and keep signing players, increasing the wage budget, with the expectation that someone MIGHT leave and balance the books one day.

Rangers have already said the wage bill must come down. If Matondo chooses to stay that has an impact on what other business the club can do, and will do.

Right now Rangers only have Matondo, Wright, McAusland, and Cortes. I think Rangers need at least two wide players capable of contributing with goals. Let us hope they focus their attention on these areas.

17.) 11 Jun 2024 12:03:46
Coops good post but we can’t put sima in just now because at the moment he isn’t coming back so signing that boy leaves us with 4.

Matondo is on 28k a week will be hard to remove but we need to get players like that off the wage bill taking far too much money for little product on the park.

18.) 11 Jun 2024 12:56:07
Storm definitely interest in matondo around 2 million.

07 Jun 2024 11:21:38
I have heard that if Abdallah Sima is to return to us this season it will not happen till close to end of the transfer window as Brighton FC want to give there new Manager a look at him once they are appointed.

1.) 07 Jun 2024 11:27:03
You read you mean.

2.) 07 Jun 2024 11:37:23
Seen that in the papers yesterday.

3.) 07 Jun 2024 12:07:49
Most these stories are just assumptions on the most likely outcomes, most on here could put out every story on back pages.

4.) 07 Jun 2024 12:10:03
Tbf GC, not everyone has twitter etc someone might have told him who read it.

5.) 07 Jun 2024 12:21:33
Read this, pc wants sima back, I said three weeks ago we had list of three,
One from Europe, sima, rhammani we want two from three.

6.) 07 Jun 2024 12:41:42
Anything on Viktor Dukanovic?

7.) 07 Jun 2024 13:13:14
John, was it a list of 3 strikers or just 3 forwards in general including wide players mate ?.

8.) 07 Jun 2024 14:01:30
Walter three forward players, outwith out and out wingers.

9.) 07 Jun 2024 14:35:47
Almost all EPL clubs call back their youth loans during their summer and reassess. Sima is still only 22 and Brighton and looking to develop him for their own team. Rangers wanted an option to buy with Sima last summer and the answer was no.

Brighton don’t need our money. Sadly, if they do decide to let him go towards the end of the window we will probably have moved on by then and won’t be able to bring him here anyway.

Sima scored 16 goals from a wide area last season. We wanted to replace Kent with someone that had more end product, and we did exactly that. Had Sima avoided injury he would have hit 20+ from open play this season, from out wide, which is remarkable. I really wish Rangers could get him permanently but we have nothing to motivate Brighton in to a sale - It’s their choice.

10.) 07 Jun 2024 14:45:52
If Brighton are waiting to the end of the window it’s a pass on sima to me sounds like either their evaluation of a player in last year of his deal is way too much remember just off back of serious injury and in 6 months can sign precontract if he’s smart he’ll wait.

Also rangers need players in early with all the changes and champions league qualifiers

Sound like (if this is true) that rangers don’t have money they want and are instead waiting to see if we qualify for champions league before buying sima.

11.) 07 Jun 2024 15:09:49
Brighton have option to trigger a 12 month extension.

12.) 07 Jun 2024 15:11:19
John is rangers classing him as a striker? For me his best form for us and other teams has been out wide and not as a striker.

13.) 07 Jun 2024 16:08:10
A forward player storm.

Interesting for me we bring in Mafokeng Cortes
Boy from bayern how many wide players we need.

14.) 07 Jun 2024 17:15:47
Rangers have been desperately short of wide players for over a decade. It really needs to be addressed. We cannot go into another season fully depending on our RB to do the attacking because the front 3 can’t.

Scott Wright has scored about 5 goals for Rangers in 2 years. Get him out already.

15.) 07 Jun 2024 17:53:34
John would the 3 be Sima, the lad from Neil Lennon side and the lad from Hammarby in Sweden?

16.) 07 Jun 2024 20:18:51
GRF correct mate.

17.) 07 Jun 2024 21:48:02
Bellshill 2 out of three ain’t bad.

22 May 2024 18:10:19
I have seen that L. Kelly has supposably signed a pre contract to sign for us, has anyone else heard if this is true.

I also think instead of speading big money on an untest striker from Romainia we should be looking at signing either Bojan Miovski or Lawrence Shankland who are proven Goal scorers in Scotland.

1.) 22 May 2024 19:18:12
It’s take the Kosovo boy and shankland….

2.) 22 May 2024 19:45:59
Ibrox I’m told as many as five announcements by mid June.

3.) 22 May 2024 19:56:13
100% agree Ibrox. We should be looking at players first and foremost that are proven in our own league. Miovski would fit in very well with us. Would be a game changer if we signed him.

4.) 22 May 2024 21:15:03
Would honestly love us to sign miovski as i think it would send aberdeen fans into ultimate meltdown. Am i that petty? Yes i am.

5.) 22 May 2024 21:17:08
Transfer window opens 14th of June so 5 that week would be nice.

6.) 22 May 2024 21:29:59
John i'm more excited about players leaving just now. Do you know when the out of contract players expire? Is it end of May?

7.) 22 May 2024 21:32:47
I'd take Kelly, somebody said utter tripe but if we did and sold butland then we can use that money to fund new signings

Sima 7 mill
Dimande 4
And the rest
Kelly's decent but I'd rather have an outfield doing the job rather than rely on a keeper

Is that utter tripe? Imo.

8.) 22 May 2024 21:59:55
Burt some will be announced before window opens,

9.) 22 May 2024 22:11:29
John the 3 you wrote after cup final are those jefte and cordoba and 1 other or have you diff names?

10.) 22 May 2024 22:12:45
Michael some on here have said fans will be dissapointed with fee we get for butland so over 10m maybe generous.

11.) 22 May 2024 22:34:46
Mofokeng the other one? I think.

12.) 22 May 2024 22:40:37
10 mill plus for a freebies good tho Walter

In my honest opinion I'd rather our outfield gets better rather than rely on a GK

Butland has been outstanding, better than I thought he would be, but if we have a good outfield we shouldn't need to rely so much on a GK

And jelly is decent. A don't know how good mcrorie is but he's better than McLaughlin imo.

13.) 22 May 2024 22:53:22
The fee being mentioned in the press would be with add ons. We would be paying just as much for miovski. Figure I heard Aberdeen are looking for was in the 5m plus add ons region. Figure for this lad will be in region of 4m with add ons.

14.) 22 May 2024 23:30:09
Bellshill i would be willing to pay 5mil with add ons for miovski as if he scores the goals in both league and champions league that i expect he can then we would sell him on at a massive profit.

15.) 23 May 2024 05:17:59
Either mirovski, or shankland would be a good fit in our team, we need to stop turning our noses too guys who ply their trade in Scotland with they ain't good enough, coarse they are, its our bread n butter, n we need too win in Scotland first too get a shot in europe, these are the guys who would held do it
Proven strikers in Scotland
Emdy still convinced shanks isn't good good enough is delusional
He's a goal scorer
Exactly what we need
N would put teams we should be beating too bed
Ext ext.

16.) 23 May 2024 15:44:44
Is it not better to find players before they make it big not after

My point being how much did Aberdeen pay for miovski if they can find them why can’t we?

I confess I would love miovski at rangers have though he was a cracking finisher for a while now.

17.) 25 May 2024 05:01:18
@Carlukeloyal, we have done that in the past and made it nowhere in Europe. The league is a small trophy compared to the top two in Europe. Aye we want the league to lord it over celtic, but if you buy players from the spfl, they don't have the experience of playing against top Europeans sides day in day out. That being said, shankland Imo would do the business on a European stage, mioski, I don't rate him. I took an instant dislike to him the first time I saw him. I would take the boy from killie too, but the rest I want to see coming from European teams. And have a mixture of experience in the team.

07 Jan 2024 10:35:56
Looks like we have been linked to another left back in Gijs Smal who is a free agent in the summer i don't know much about him a part from he is playing for Twente is holland.

1.) 07 Jan 2024 11:18:31
Stats look good this was in the papers yday
Sounds like the type of players we can/ should be going for
Looks a good calibre signing and out of contract in the summer so fee shouldn’t be too high if we get him now.

2.) 07 Jan 2024 11:22:10
Nicknamed Smaldini and valued at 6m euros. Seems to be better defensively than offensively from what I've seen on scout pages etc on X.

Not seen anything of the man myself though.

3.) 07 Jan 2024 11:57:52
To be honest, he looks like a younger, more physical borna. he's defensively better, but can stil whip a cross. He seems like a decent evolution should borna go. Be nice if we went a but younger but you’re paying for potential if they're already proven eh.

4.) 07 Jan 2024 12:04:19
He was linked a month of so ago on follow follow, somebody saying they were in the know and he’s a target.

Not seen the lad play but he seems to have a strong reputation.

5.) 07 Jan 2024 12:26:52
Hes an offensive fullback, he plays high and wide, good on the ball, good at picking passes, there was a good scout report on him recently, we have been linked a number of times to him, bit like yilmaz in the that he can come in field and also like borna in that he has a good cross. Like all other players if they sign, no gaurantee they take to the crazy nature of hoofball in scotland.

6.) 07 Jan 2024 13:33:33
Hi thought he was attacking full back am sure I read 16 assists last season may not be true tho.

7.) 07 Jan 2024 13:58:49
Coplandbear i would hope with playing in holland devision 1 last season he would cope in hoofball.

8.) 07 Jan 2024 16:29:27
He bares zero to Maldini, clearly made up name for a joke.
Maldini was one of the best CB's in the history of football

Smal is a quality attacking LB, has scored some absolute screamers over the last few years and regularly contributes with assists and goals.
In his prime.

I would like us to sign Smal LB, Oppegard LB, Manhoef RW/ LW.
Clement and Koppen seem keen on players in the Eredivisie.

Wouldn't bother Doig, Mckenna or Shankland none of them are good enough for europe, if we eventually want be a serious team again in the Champions league and feared and respected in that competition like we once were, we will need far higher quality players than that.

9.) 07 Jan 2024 16:31:40
Gils smal rumour been posted at least 5 times in the last day on here. Does no one thibk to read down the page.

10.) 07 Jan 2024 17:21:33
Maldini was also one of the best LBs in the history nevermind CB.

11.) 07 Jan 2024 21:50:05
Clement and koppen or scouting work from when we recently had a Dutch manager think about it.

All former or current Dutch league ?.

25 Oct 2023 09:34:21
Just seen the 5 candidates for the DOF role who are most likely be interviewed are below, the only one on that list i would not take would be Dougie Freeman.

Dougie Freedman
David Weir
Sam Jewell
Paul Mitchell
Carlos Bocanegra

Has anyone heard when the role will be filled and who the fav is for the role.

1.) 25 Oct 2023 09:41:33
Can't comment on freedman.

Would steer clear of bocanegra, he's a disaster.

2.) 25 Oct 2023 10:20:57
Weir, Jewell, Mitchell no chance, James Bisgrove was talking last week in terms of weeks or even months before an appointment is made that to me suggests that the club is nowhere near even attracting a suitable candidate.

3.) 25 Oct 2023 10:25:43
Bocanegra has rejected us already, did not want to attend interview

Jewell was at ibrand auchenhowie

Mitchell going to Man U with ratcliffe.

Hearing noth Re freedman

Nerlinger name still being bandied around

Also believe me weir won’t leave his family.

4.) 25 Oct 2023 10:26:03
So if you take Freeman and Bocanegra out, Jewell apparently has turned us down already and DW has a dream job at Brighton.
Doesnt leave much!

5.) 25 Oct 2023 10:27:33
I don't know anything about Freedman or Bocanegra, but Weir, Jewell and Mitchell show that the club are definitely pursuing the right calibre of people.

6.) 25 Oct 2023 11:15:19
What about the Nottingham Forest DOF he’s not bad ?.

7.) 25 Oct 2023 11:53:13
Lazy journalism on the DR site!

Trust me, they would be the last to know anything that's going on inside Ibrox - they are just appalling!

Dougie Freedman? They've probably put 2 and 2 together on that one because Dougie is a Rangers fan, and made 7! The rest of the names have been on here, and other Rangers forums, for ages now, so they have probably lifted the names of there.

Honestly, no Rangers fan should ever believe what is in that rag!

8.) 25 Oct 2023 12:17:14
ZERO chance of Mitchell coming. That info is from people with no clue in footballl. Would be the equivalent of us signing Mbappe.

9.) 25 Oct 2023 12:17:54
This isn`t a list of THE 5 candidates for the DOF job, this is a list put together by the Daily Record, no doubt based on rumours they have heard and nothing more.

10.) 25 Oct 2023 13:26:26
I don’t know much about this sort of stuff as I just like watching the football, but who do you guys think would be the best person for this role?

11.) 25 Oct 2023 13:55:31
Cool Wsl. I thought someone had the inside track.

12.) 25 oct 2023 14:11:21
met bocanegra when the us womens team were at the based in glasgow yrs ago i was not impressed by him one little bit, came across as arrogant, aloof and unlikeable guy, , no idea why you would know how good or bad freedman is, but its a typical reaction to anyone scottish, don't want him, if he happens to be scottish and a rangers fan, shoot him.

13.) 25 oct 2023 14:47:54
strangely freedman is probably the only one gettable, anyone know hows he's doing these days?

14.) 25 Oct 2023 16:02:18
He's the sporting director at C Palace, Tom. If another doesn't know, he's also a very intelligent guy, who could do the job for us.

15.) 25 Oct 2023 16:57:09
***that should have said 'If anyone doesn't know'***.

16.) 25 Oct 2023 19:22:11
From that list Weir is the standout candidate.

17.) 25 oct 2023 19:22:22
well if he's employed in the epl he must know something, great wee goalscorer in his time.

18.) 25 Oct 2023 21:03:34
I grew up with Dougie and we played all of our youth football together until he went down to QPR on trial around 1990 when we were 16 ish.

He was actually a midfielder but when he turned pro he got moved up front.

Not the most academic (none of us were) but you don't have a playing career like he has and hold a role like he has at Palace without having something about you. didn't he hold an admin role at forrest as well?

19.) 25 Oct 2023 21:07:52
Weir won't leave Brighton it's obviously proving difficult to attach suitable candidates, Jewell apparently turned the job down instantly saying for what Rangers are willing to pay for a DOF it's not worth the headaches.

20.) 26 Oct 2023 07:53:35
Greeley. Jewell on 2k a week at brighton.

21.) 26 Oct 2023 11:24:57
Im mentioned that I had heard Freedman's name mentioned last week and John kindly confirmed that he had been interviewed previously and personally having spoke with Palace Fans, I reckon that he would be a good appointment but would he leave Palace for rangers.
As regards Jewell, I really wouldn't discount him as Manny are writing him off. He is on a quite low salary and assuming that he is ambitious he will not want to be an understudy to Weir for ever and personally I can't see Weir leaving Brighton any time soon.
So, unless we are going to pull a rabbit out of a hat with one of the better International DoF's I would suggest that Jewel is definitely a contender that could say yes!

22.) 26 Oct 2023 13:17:59
I think Freedman’s been there for a few years and they seem to be doing well during that time.

23.) 26 Oct 2023 13:50:20
John anymore updates on appointing a DOF?

24.) 26 Oct 2023 13:46:45
Hope its paul mitchell, seems to have all the credentials for a great appointment.

25.) 26 Oct 2023 13:58:37
Too many clueless chiefs not enough of the relevant Indians.

26.) 26 Oct 2023 16:10:05
My personal top 2 choices for our director of football job would be paul mitchell or big davie weir, in that order, but hand on heart here guys, i very much doubt we'll get any of those two ?Looks like mitchell might well be going to man utd and big davie weir i can't see leaving a superbly run club from top to bottom in brighton ?.

27.) 26 Oct 2023 16:50:19
Mitchell recently bought a house in Manchester.

Doesn’t guarantee anything but if he bought one in Glasgow for example?

28.) 27 Oct 2023 03:29:42
I don’t have any info on who we’re looking at for DOF.

From what I remember from a while ago whatever club Bocanegra was at (maybe Atlanta) the fans were calling him useless and calling for head, so I wouldn’t think the club are looking at him.

I have mutual friends of Weir and they are of the opinion that he absolutely still loves our club and supports us but he wouldn’t be in a hurry to come work here again after his experience of being sacked with Warburton.

Especially when he’s a valued member of staff at Brighton there is some bad feeling there on how things are done (and yes I’m very aware the board has changed since then) .

29.) 27 Oct 2023 06:29:06
I should add by the way for full clarification.

This info I was told about Weir wasn’t recent, was around the time of our Europa League run under Gio (was also not a conversation based on any concrete info of Weir returning just hypothetically at the time) .

So things could’ve very much changed on Weir’s end in that time but just sharing that info I was told.

Seen that Neil Lennon is front runner to get that Rapid Bucharest managers job, if this was to happen could this hamper our chance even more of getting Albion Rrahmani.

1.) 20 May 2024 14:30:00
We’ve no chance of him anyway mate.

2.) 20 May 2024 15:19:08
We aren’t interested in this boy apparently and Lennon is the new manager.

3.) 20 May 2024 17:17:38
CF5 posted that we're not signing him.

4.) 20 May 2024 19:12:19
Deal is further down the line than people think. New manager won’t affect the deal.

5.) 20 May 2024 20:53:16
Yeah I seen Copland5 saying we aren't signing him. Didn't see him or anyone else saybthat we wernt interested though.

29 Apr 2024 06:07:54
Lammers seems to have found his game in holland, from what i have been told he loved his time in glasgow but was not preforming as he was being played out of possition out wide and since moving to Holland he has been playing as a lone striker and scoring goals.

Its a shame he was never played as a striker for us cause who knows how many he would have scored.

1.) 29 Apr 2024 08:00:17
Scottish game is bit rough for some players that move here .

2.) 29 Apr 2024 12:16:06
We won't know how he would've done at C/ F, as he never got a chance to show us.

14 Apr 2024 14:00:43
Anyone know when Danilo will be back from his injury, he was suppose to be back in March as far as i remember. We need another striker to challenge Deasier as its like he has got comfy with no challenge on his position.

1.) 14 Apr 2024 14:45:59
Both of them are just crap.

2.) 14 Apr 2024 14:50:54
Dessers is not the problem, we were winning at half time and then we shipped 3 goals in the second half. Our midfield and defence is the problem has been for the last three seasons.

23 Oct 2023 07:26:33
Does anyone know who the trialist was that appeared on the bench for the resevere team and how they preformed.

1.) 23 Oct 2023 08:46:30
No name, he came on at half time and played 25 minutes, done well.

2.) 23 Oct 2023 13:53:05
John what was the players position mate.

3.) 23 Oct 2023 15:43:51
Why don't we get reserve games on rangers TV anymore?

Wouldn't care if it wasn't live but would be good to keep an eye on the young players.

4.) 23 Oct 2023 18:45:52
Clint Eastwood, the man with no name.

08 Oct 2023 17:16:53
Anyone know if we have a option to bring back Ianis Hagi and Alex Lowry

Defo lowrt in Jan, not sure with hagi.

3.) 08 Oct 2023 17:29:22
Tbh a would keep them where they are, we will have cantwell and Lawrence for they positions and you have young Lovelace and mclausland Loki g like they can step up, unless we are offloading dessers and lammers then maybe.

From what i have seen in the press is that there has been no approach from Norwich for Cordoba, it is levski that are causing the issues as they have tried to get more money from us.

Bellshill i would be willing to pay 5mil with add ons for miovski as if he scores the goals in both league and champions league that i expect he can then we would sell him on at a massive profit.

People said the exact same stuff about Alan Mcgregor when he was coming through as they are about Robbie and now mcgregor is classed as a club legioned.

Cammy cause unless butland leaves he would only be back up, also we need to be looking better than english league 1 for our number 1. Also there is lots of GK with CL experiance out there that we can afford just need to look at Jack Butland people said there was no chance he was coming last year.

Northern if we were to sign him he would only be back up as if Butland is to leave we will be signing a top quality number 1 with champions league experiance or promoting Robby to number 1.
