Hearing today that the stadium reconstruction is expected to run into October. A statement from the club is forthcoming but one further option is being considered (outwith the Murrayfield and Hampden options previously reported) .
1.) 29 Jun 2024 17:08:27
I can't see that happening.
2.) 29 Jun 2024 17:41:45
Where other than hampden or Merryfield could we play. Firhill maybe!
3.) 29 Jun 2024 17:42:35
Only other stadium would be the piggery so that's a non starter.
4.) 29 Jun 2024 17:42:52
There is only one more stadium possibly big enough………surely not?.
5.) 29 Jun 2024 18:13:17
Should be a refund of some of the season books. Fans paid for a seat at ibrox not another stadium. Apparently fans don't deserve to be told what's going on share holders are all that matters to people on here.
6.) 29 Jun 2024 18:17:36
Shareholders aren't getting told anything either.
7.) 29 Jun 2024 18:35:16
Lammy what kind of refund? Like per game at ibrox missed? Then they would need to apply and pay for tickets away from ibrox surely?
8.) 29 Jun 2024 18:52:49
Wembley, that would be amazing.
9.) 29 Jun 2024 19:19:15
AllyG72 I was told last night from a solid source that St Johnstone on October 5 could be our first game at Ibrox, but apart from Europe that would mean switching just three games, Motherwell, Ross County and Hibs. Might not be as bad as some are making out.
10.) 29 Jun 2024 20:17:33
Prob not as bad.
11.) 29 Jun 2024 20:32:44
hubby11, Oct 5th yes best case scenario with a 2 week contingency beyond that date.
Gers78.absolutely not on the table.
12.) 29 Jun 2024 21:19:53
I fancy playing at merryfield.
13.) 29 Jun 2024 21:28:31
We are looking into playing at Ibrox with copland stand closed the preferred option i'm hearing.
14.) 29 Jun 2024 22:44:20
Christ next we'll be building a new stadium at the auld Third Lanark site the way the rumours are going.
15.) 29 Jun 2024 23:01:15
It is what it is. Construction projects always get delays. The club will play the games and fans will get to see them. No issue just whingeing about things out of control of fans and the club move on and let's talk about football.
16.) 30 Jun 2024 00:03:08
Hopefully John or someone can answer my question, I've got told today that after the European qualifiers, we have to name our home staduim. What happens if Ibrox isn't ready do we name Hampden, Murray field or somewhere else. I was told we have to play all our group games there even when Ibrox is up and running. If this is true the board have put players right up against it, we will have lost a big advantage playing our home game at any other ground than Ibrox.
17.) 30 Jun 2024 00:25:01
67k in murrayfield would be bouncing for they games.
18.) 30 Jun 2024 04:08:47
Mull play all game at mureayfield extra 17k people nit sure how that's a disadvantage.
19.) 30 Jun 2024 06:05:33
FYI . Wembley isn’t in Scotland.
20.) 30 Jun 2024 08:23:58
Lol bill?.
21.) 30 Jun 2024 08:46:57
Talking to someone close to the situation. This week is critical on timelines of delivery.
This will determine if its August or first 10 days of September at the latest for the fans being back in.
To put this into context the steel was expected in mid June latest.
22.) 30 Jun 2024 09:42:44
I heard we where building a new stadium at the auld third lanark site ?? sorry fork couldn't resist.
23.) 30 Jun 2024 11:14:35
Super??.
24.) 30 jun 2024 13:29:01
this is like nobody ever has a delay in building work
chill out fgs, the job will be done, ibrox will be better and rangers will carry on
its not something serious, like no pies, or cold bovril,
25.) 30 Jun 2024 16:35:08
Generic
Playing him lot? Not in any do or die matches. Maybe just putting him in window.
26.) 30 Jun 2024 22:14:02
Generally know within the construction industry that the principal contractor will be charged L&A damages for every week they are late in handing over the project from the agreed completion date. So if the contract was done thoroughly the delays won’t cost Rangers a penny.
26 May 2024 07:11:16
I posted 2 weeks ago that Bennett was to step down from Board. and I then apologised on the same day, and corrected myself to say I had picked things up wrongly and that it was Bisgrove who is to go. I'm hearing an announcement is now imminent on this.
Totally unrelated. I'm told SportX have had no approach from Rangers about Shankland. I genuinely believe he is not on the PC shopping list.
1.) 26 May 2024 08:17:59
Would be a surprise if bisgrove leaves having been in the position less than 1 year. Any idea why?
2.) 26 May 2024 08:34:16
Terrible loss for rangers, Bisgrove is fantastic at his job and would be difficult to replace. This could give takeover rumours credence.
3.) 26 May 2024 09:19:26
Bisgrove has an impressive CV and has been headhunted in the past. Would be a big loss from a commercial point of view.
4.) 26 May 2024 09:45:26
Not the first time Bisgrove has been touted for other jobs. Like everyone else he will look to better himself and with better resources elsewhere, this doent surprise me tbh!
5.) 26 May 2024 10:01:22
Bisgrove would be a huge loss.
6.) 26 May 2024 10:36:08
Would Bisgrove be a huge loss? Asking as I’m not sure what we’re rating him on and who we could get to fill the position. Sounds like we’ve built him a rep on his great commercial awareness, many guys out there like that. I’d rather we had someone with similar commercial clout with a little more rangers football club awareness.
7.) 26 May 2024 12:23:35
Fair comment Sollof19.
8.) 26 May 2024 13:26:15
Bisgroves going nowhere.
9.) 26 May 2024 14:54:50
Repeated rangers managers have not been interested in shankland and I don't believe that will change, we need much better.
10.) 26 May 2024 17:10:52
Nothing on the wire reference change of Directors at Companies House so no indication that anyone is stepping down at Rangers.
That said, Bisgrove would be a massive loss if he was to go so soon but he will be a CEO that will attract offers.
Considering how poor our previous CEO was before Bisgrove was appointed I would be concerned who or what we ended up with as his replacement.
11.) 26 May 2024 18:31:03
Yes BB, i said all along on here that our former CEO stewart robertson was miles out of his depth to be the rangers CEO, i just couldn't stand that guy and the undoubted consent he had for our supporters ?.
16 May 2024 21:19:12
Hearing from reliable source that Bennett is to exit imminently. Anyone able to clarify this?
1.) 16 May 2024 22:07:18
Would be a major surprise and suggest that someone has majority shares wrapped up. Where’s that coming from mate?
2.) 16 May 2024 22:43:13
I would seriously doubt that our chairman john bennet is going anywhere allyg72?.
3.) 17 May 2024 07:05:14
Ally there have been couple stories last few weeks.
Not sure what is happening.
4.) 17 May 2024 08:15:14
Was Bennett not retiring to concentrate on Rangers?
5.) 17 May 2024 08:53:41
Maybe rumours of someone buying g up shares is correct.
6.) 17 May 2024 08:54:11
55!that was the plan.
7.) 17 May 2024 10:08:23
John227,have you heard anything of the sort regarding john bennett yourself mate ?.
8.) 17 May 2024 10:39:10
Yes. Let’s be patient. Certain info u don’t print.
9.) 17 May 2024 16:10:27
John you said last year the Stuart Donald was ready to invest in the club did that ever happen and she someone you could see wanting more of a say in the club.
10.) 17 May 2024 16:37:40
I'm in the City today, attending an event this evening, will see what I can find out but rumours of major share acquisitions 20%+ still circulating.
11.) 17 May 2024 17:27:37
Apologies. I posted yesterday that Bennett may be about to leave. I picked this up wrongly. there is movement within the Board but the likely departure is Bisgrove and not our Chairman. Apologies for giving wrong information.
30 Apr 2024 20:21:51
Who was the South American player at Ibrox today with his agent? Red carpet treatment.
1.) 30 Apr 2024 20:58:24
Sebastian Rozenthal??.
2.) 30 Apr 2024 21:00:24
Seem to be interested in a few South Americans.
3.) 30 Apr 2024 21:45:14
Jardel ?.
4.) 30 Apr 2024 22:17:34
Meant to be Brazilian. My wife's friend was at the Ibrox tour and it was cut short apparently.
5.) 30 Apr 2024 22:40:14
Jefte?
6.) 30 Apr 2024 22:45:32
Similar info As1974. Thank you for confirmation. I'm told staff were told to cut short a tour and reschedule a charity cheque presentation.
7.) 01 May 2024 06:28:11
As1974 there's a joke in there somewhere, "Brazilian and cut short", really???.
8.) 01 May 2024 07:52:21
@Forktongue.
People are giving you some fact rather than BS. Have a bit of respect.
9.) 01 May 2024 07:53:26
Fork, I thought it was a joke as well lol!
10.) 01 May 2024 11:11:05
??@fork.
11.) 01 May 2024 11:51:16
Some people don't know humour☺️?.
12.) 01 May 2024 11:18:22
First post Bears. Go easy Could it be Angel Torres from Central Coast Mariners in Australian A League. His agent was spotted with Nils Koppen at Ibrox ahead of last Old Firm game.
{Ed033's Note - Weren't you username SirStruth last month?
13.) 01 May 2024 11:52:59
Fork, As1974 is looking to tear a 'strip' off you pal.
14.) 01 May 2024 13:42:13
???? Fork! I'm in my bed ill with the flu, and I needed a laugh. Thank matey!
15.) 01 may 2024 13:53:32
oh dear struthy, nuffin gets past ol 003, or 001,
16.) 01 May 2024 13:57:04
I'm disrespectful having a joke bud, go figure ??.
17.) 01 May 2024 13:57:42
Lol SB penny just "landed"??.
18.) 01 May 2024 14:55:32
Not a problem RTR, glad to oblige bud??, feel better mate.
19.) 01 May 2024 23:30:47
Angel Torres was arrested in Australia for R@pe, obviously a very serious charge, I mentioned him a while back. But in all seriousness he’s one hell of a player scored a couple hat tricks in Australia a Porto under 21 players, Columbian right winger who can seriously finish. This was a guy I wanted and still want if he can beat his charge. It’s on his wiki page so it’s fact not me speculating. he's out of contract and I heard Rangers were very serious about his signature Would love this signing, and if we kept Cortes and somehow kept Sima, and Torres and young McCausland as back up as he’s learning we’d for the first time in years have serious talent out wide. No more Scott Wright. I hope his charge is BS although there is serious competition from loads of countries for this guy. I have a sneaky feeling we’ll keep Sima, I think with him and his family being really happy here and the way PC was talking at one point it’s just a feeling but I think he’ll stay.
It’s what I think we miss real depth out wide, I know there is other areas of the park of concern but I’m only talking about the wide areas, I’m sick of looking at the team sheet and thinking we look blunt af in attacking areas.
20.) 02 May 2024 08:32:23
I think Sima signing on a permanent contract will be done if we win league or qualify for a champions league through qualifiers otherwise we won’t have the cash to buy him and Cortes.
21.) 02 May 2024 14:43:09
Thanks MrRanger. I was unaware of the charges that have been levelled against Torres. He really looked the part from clips I've seen. I was wondering why he hadn't been involved in Mariners last few match squads without knowing the backstory. From an Aussie news source, incident happened on March 24 and Mariners have been forced to suspend his availabilty till after his court case on May 6th. I hope it turns out to be BS and he carry on his career. Looks a real exciting talent.
14 Jan 2024 14:15:13
Good post EHL. This all rings true. a close friend of McKenna told me 2 weeks ago that the deal was almost done and dusted and that the player was likely to move. Also that the chat amongst Aberdeen players was that Barron had agreed to move. Since then, both stories seem to have died a death.
1.) 14 Jan 2024 14:47:46
Hopefully both still happen allyg72 as I like both players.
2.) 14 Jan 2024 15:29:26
Yesterday's performance was just a reminder if it was needed that unless a goal scorer and a LB are signed in this window Rangers ain't winning the league.
3.) 14 Jan 2024 16:09:16
I wouldn’t say a LB would win us the league tbh. For me, something different on the wing and goalscorer is where we’re short.
4.) 14 Jan 2024 16:16:00
Striker, centre midfeilder (creative/ controller) , barasic can play left back only need new one if ridvan moves on and apparently we’ve knocked back a loan to buy for €4m.
5.) 14 Jan 2024 16:59:05
From galatasaray.
6.) 14 Jan 2024 18:07:32
I’d be more concerned with up top right now although at start season defense was priority Beale flipped it and screwed up forward line don’t think silva going to score much from what I’ve seen so far.
7.) 15 Jan 2024 01:49:20
the 24hrs are up now, apparently Yilmaz was signing for Verona, more paper talk.
If Yilmaz plays in the Copenhagen game tomorrow he is staying, unless we get a silly offer.
Ye raging still TT ;) suck it up lad.
8.) 15 Jan 2024 16:50:13
Creative/ controller is a new one.
9.) 15 Jan 2024 18:28:21
Stevieg2 I agree however we are not adding any midfielders until we cut aquas size down and specially midfield
Cantwell
Raskin
Cifuentes
Wright
Hagi?
Lundstrum
Dowell
Lawrence
Jack
Davis? Has he left yet?
Sterling
I think you’ll agree that’s a bit overkill numbers wise.
10.) 15 Jan 2024 18:31:34
Also could add Lowry and rice to that lot.

21 Jul 2024 16:53:08
A lot of speculation about incoming players but I'm keen to know. the next 3 signings, which positions would be your priorities? List them in order please.
For me:
striker
cb
winger.
1.) 21 Jul 2024 18:09:11
Ch cm striker.
2.) 21 Jul 2024 18:10:05
Cb * 2 and also 1 centre mid added to that list.
3.) 21 Jul 2024 19:06:45
Striker and 2 cbs.
4.) 21 Jul 2024 19:19:23
Me personally think need 4 winger striker centre back midfielder all starters at the very least.
5.) 21 Jul 2024 19:29:01
Centre mid
Centre half
Right winger.
6.) 21 Jul 2024 19:30:23
Striker most of all, then CB, Rw then mid, we are to weak up top, a striker who can hold a ball up will help this team big time add to that a greed for goals, hopefully this week will put a dent in what we need.
7.) 21 Jul 2024 19:41:56
If we can move on Goldson and Davies we would need 2 centre backs.
I’d like a right back and Sterling in mf but don’t think that’ll happen, hopefully tav stays one more year.
We need an experienced centre mid around 30yo with euro experience. Also really want Lennon miller.
We need a right sided attacker, 2 if we move wright in but I think he’s staying:
1 top quality striker with Danilo as back up and maybe Lovelace as 3rd striker.
That’s what 6,7,8 players depending on outgoings
Still a lot of work to be done.
How long left in the window guys?
8.) 21 Jul 2024 20:03:13
Two centre halfs and one poacher goalscorer.
9.) 21 Jul 2024 20:17:04
Were need to replace Wright as a matter of some urgency. That would be my number one requirement and Sima is the answer.
Next would be a quality centre back, unfortunately I don't rate either Davies or Souttar as good enough to be Rangers first choice centre backs.
Ideally it would then be a quality box to box midfield player and a striker.
As far as players leaving, anyone other than the goalkeeper from last year's team that we can get money for and I would pay off Wright just to get rid of him!
10.) 21 Jul 2024 20:41:44
Everything breaks down in the final third, we need a CF who gives much more than dessers. Need a RW and CB. That’s the priority 3 for me.
11.) 21 Jul 2024 21:44:36
There is a reason Sima still at Brighton, not worth that reported fee.
I thought he done ok and wouldn’t be against him coming back as a loan, and probably in the minority as usual if we had a few million to spend would rather we targeted someone else.
12.) 21 Jul 2024 21:52:36
Correct Scotty we desperately need a focal point up top.
The enigma that is Dessers, no doubting his goals tally last season was decent, and then most of the time he looks like he’s never kicked a baw, will we be able to move him on? Probably a loan is more realistic.
13.) 21 Jul 2024 22:36:39
Spot on scotty every time we get into good areas it breaks down with dessers and his inability to control a ball or hold it up.
14.) 22 Jul 2024 00:19:57
True blue 26 I also agree sima not worth the reported fee mate.
I think we’d struggle to make a profit in him in a few years and he’d likely run down his contract and leave on a free or cheap with year to go:
For me £4m is his worth atm.
15.) 22 Jul 2024 07:31:21
Sima in Japan with Brighton btw.
16.) 22 Jul 2024 09:07:32
If we had four million to spend I would rather we targeted a proper right winger.
We need to move on from Sima.
12 Jul 2023 14:59:49
Disappointed if the Balogun rumours are true. A superb servant but the last 2 years have been unkind on speed and fitness.
There are better options. Cedric Kipre, Liam Lindsay, Ryan Porteous (mmm maybe not) . None are idea btw but better options than Balogun.
Beale stated in January that no short term purchases would be part of his transfer policy. He stated again in March that players who could give Rangers 2-4 years would be the only signings he would make.
We badly require a good CB. Our signings have been good but failure to ensure we have a decent CB cover will cost us dear.
1.) 12 Jul 2023 15:39:47
The wool has been pulled.
04 Apr 2023 23:45:25
Heard Derek Gaston being interviewed today about goalkeeping talent in Scotland and he was quick to identify Jacob Pazikas as one of the best up and coming keepers he has seen.
1.) 05 Apr 2023 15:39:37
I have read about the boy and he seems to be well regarded.
05 Mar 2023 16:20:56
RW seems to split opinion on here. I empathise with him and the Board. Our DoF faces significant challenges, namely identifying players who can be sold at a profit. We relied heavily on the Patterson sale for a surplus in 2022 and we still require a player trading model that produces an annual surplus. Failure to do this exposes the Club to risks. In this, RW has had some success and the 23 accounts will prove this.
Buying in the bargain basement section is no easy task and that is where he must shop. The Board has my backing and I'd like RW to stay, but I suspect he may take the hint and seek pastures new. I just hope we don't rue the day.
1.) 05 Mar 2023 17:33:49
The issue I have is we’ve held on for players for too long and we’ve spent a lot of money on players who aren’t good enough. The only player in recent years I’d say we sold for maximum value was Bassey and I praised Wilson for that deal. To get whatever we did for Patterson when he had only played x amount of games was a good deal as well. However, let’s look at a couple examples of players who have stayed past their peaks: buff was a 15m player, kent was 10m+, Kamara was 10m+, Barasic 5-10m. We’ll be lucky to get 5m for all of them.
In a functioning trading model you sell players at their peak value and reinvest in players you can grow before selling them on in a couple of years. We’re still relying on players who were sold on delivering 55 and after delivering it they should’ve been sold on whole their stock was high and bring in new players for the next chapter. Also a lot of signings in recent years you’d be lucky to get any fee to get rid of them never mind even breaking even.
2.) 05 Mar 2023 17:46:19
Rue the day? Name 5 ross wilson signings which have been successful please. Or any current youth players that are making that much of an impact they could match pattersons fee?
3.) 05 Mar 2023 18:05:10
You can only sell if there is a buyer.
4.) 05 Mar 2023 19:36:53
Who gets the credit for all the good signings celtic have made? Nicky Hammond or Ange?
So why does RW get the stick when we've signed dross?
I agree that we've held players too long and the players we've brought in haven't been good enough but I think it's a bit naive to blame it all on RW.
Its likely the scouting department and managers doing most of the identifying of players.
I wondered if the reason so few players have made it at ibrox recently is the fact fans can't wait to jump on their back a soon as they put a foot wrong.
5.) 05 Mar 2023 21:02:21
Scottish, i'm away tomorrow so kast post for a while. I said a couple of years ago that ibrox has always had a reputation as being a very difficult place to play in, it has a closeness and atmosphere that only some players can deal with.
I also said in 55 year a big part of the reason was no fans, I was torn to pieces but I will stick by that view.
also said crazy valuations if Kent morelos of 30 odd million was laughable, again I was ripped apart.
I said roofe had a dreadful reputation among guys I knew who had experience of him, again I got terrible abuse for daring to question him and why he came to Scotland, roofe in particular has massive ability but no heart whatsoever. To me it's clear that we have watched players of ridiculously little skills earn the biggest paydays they will ever earn playing against st mirrren and Livingston and often looking worse than there.
This isn't a one off poor game, this is the normal now, I watched alf come on yesterday and he couldn't control a football, Kent is Kent, next to useless, the only guy who looked like a decent footballer was cantwell who must have been looking around and asking himself why he's here, there's a massive question mark over why beale is our manager imo. Massive, if Kent and morelos signed new contracts, I honestly think I will never see the league title again,
6.) 05 mar 2023 23:10:37
that might sound harsh, but, this past couple of years has been as poor as when we were in div 3, we are second favs for everything, a distance behind celtic and a novice manager who has twice made the most ridiculous decisions in an old firm game, we need a manager not a coach, celtic have zero concern about rangers, our “ stars” are a laughing stock, remove any offers and start again before we become any worse, none are going to get better, il never in my life understand how kent earns s9 much, and i won't upset alfs followers, watching him try to control a ball is painful, we need to keep colak and bring another striker in, and a whole new defence imo,
7.) 05 Mar 2023 23:33:57
A few of their signings in last year or so haven’t worked out either, but they have got more right than wrong.
8.) 06 mar 2023 00:45:54
, its like we are constantly fighting against a major power, and it shouldn't be that way.
19 Sep 2024 20:58:17
Go Dave! Gauntlet laid down.
16 Sep 2024 20:52:06
I'm not convinced Jesper. Chris Jack's information seems to contradict the statement yesterday that the club was immediately embarking upon a robust process to recruit a CEO and Chair.
DK has support on the Board including amongst Non Exec Directors (who will be part of an election process) . He also has plenty of Directors against his appointment mind y.
16 Sep 2024 07:46:06
I agree SWS. At present it is rhe best option. Our club is in a vulnerable position and stability and viability are important. Interesting that DK spoke about "investor fatigue".
11 Sep 2024 08:56:37
deeb, OSCR?
11 Sep 2024 05:47:28
SWS, I gather he had given StM his notice. Apparently Rangers flagged up an issue 2 weeks ago and JG informed Rangers on Monday he was withdrawing from the process.
26 Sep 2024 18:18:14
passport issues! I despair.
03 Aug 2024 10:23:12
Good post Sunshine. Tbh I would have preferred PC to have maybe achieved some key objectives prior to him being offered a contract extension. Tbere were doubts last season about tactics, team selection, substitutions, and player recruitment. The optimism of a new season has inevitably quashed many of these doubts, but a bad start to the season (and no I'm not being pessimistic) may lead to the same questions towards the end of last season raising their heads again very quickly.
27 Dec 2023 20:29:48
Shankland and Ginelli.
29 Jul 2023 20:24:34
Totally agree Deecee. Shameful once again. Moronic.
